I played that guitar before Busey bought it from Sotheby’s for $230,000 while I curated the Hard Rock Cafe collection. When I played Not Fade Away on it everyone nearby got goosebumps. It gave me the chills! I’ve played a lot of famous guitars and this one had more mojo than all the others put together.

Gary Busey definitely should have gotten an Oscar for his role as Buddy Holly in the movie... The fact that he didn't was the rip off of the century...
I hear you but his performance in that movie sits him firmly in Buddys legacy, especially as there's such little footage of Holly, awards fade and crumble but his place is assured forever, time will honour Busey far more than any panel of Hollyweirdos

Gary Busey was nominated and up against Sir Lawrence Olivier, Jon Voight, Warren Beatty, and Robert de Niro for the Oscar for Best Male Actor in a lead role for the Buddy Holly Story. What a wonderful honour. What a great actor.
