I hope Arsenal looks back at this interview and shakes his head. Instead of helping a young man he tried to tear him apart. On the other side, Vanilla did a fantastic job at staying comfortable, answering the questions, and came out on top.
Nope. Arsenio did an interview a couple of years ago and he just made up a bunch of crap excuses that he was having a bad day and his staff misinformed him. He has never taken responsibility for his rudeness.

It's deeper, Ice used Flav as a stunt and things were going on in the background unexplained at the time but explained since. On the day Hall wasn't having it and couldn't mask his contempt. Appeared harsh on viewing however once explained justified.
Got to hang with Ice at his last show. One of the most kind, humble, and down-to-earth celebrities you’ll ever meet. Ice never deserved all the hate and jealously.
He was a marginal rapper at best and worse yet, there was a fabricated biography circulated in the promotion of him. His manager and record label, at the very least, should have known better. The fake bio made him look inauthentic at the time, if not ridiculous.
If he was really great in music , he would have had more success. He would have given people reasons to keep buying his records and his concert tickets. The truth was he was a one-trick pony and a novelty act. The only thing innovative about him was he was young and white. He never had a musical identity of his own. Even when he was big, his music imitated everybody else. He couldn’t even be consistent about how he should rap on a record.
Back then a lot of black people were jealous and hated Ice because he was so called taking their shine. When in reality no one from the hood was listening to that garbage lol it was only little white kids. Nonetheless their jealousy was damn near uncontrollable as you see here.
He alluded to "some" being upset that people never bought rap albums until there was a white face on the cover. I think he is included in that. Contempt for Ice, although masterfully and seamlessly intertwined, from start to finish in this interview.

When he lost fame and he was on some of the celebrity reality shows like Surreal Life, he was very down on himself and the whole Ice character. He hated his legacy. I think those shows encouraged a LOT of past fans and people close to him to tell him to embrace what he did, because he was a "moment" in a lot of people lives at that time in history. Ice Ice Baby was a silly fun song, and it was NOTHING to be ashamed of. You can play it today and remember those days and how much fun you were having hearing it. So many kids grew up on Turtle Rap and, again, it was a silly fun song but it meant a lot to kids at that time. You can see today that he is proud of everything he did. He might be embarrassed by those goofy ass clothes, but music that becomes big like that is timeless.

If he was really great in music , he would have had more success. He would have given people reasons to keep buying his records and his concert tickets.
