I think some people are missing the point about the Tensor chip. This isn’t all about speed and benchmarks, it’s about Google having a hand in designing a processor that works hand in hand with their software. They’re doing an Apple but in their own way. They admitted in the video last night that the things they wanted to do with AI, photography and so on wasn’t possible with an off the shelf processor. It’s still early days and I’m sure subsequent versions of the chip will be faster, etc. but this is a great looking phone with some great features. I was going to pre-order but they sold out. 😂

@@holdthissl I chose this because I wanted to try something new. I've had a few pixel phones (4a, 4, 4a 5g, etc) for work phones but never as my main personal phone. I loved my s8+ and my galaxy note 9, had it for 2.5yrs, until the fingerprint sensor stopped working and got the s10+ to hold me over. S20 was ugly and s21 has the sd888 which I've heard way too many stories about overheating so I never upgraded. Tensor looks very promising.
@@ak-2005 ----- Apple is supplied by Samsung, LG, and BOE for OLEDs. The patents belong to Universal Display so anyone can make them, it's laborious but not impossible. The specs are designed by Apple and can be quite different from a Samsung display using similar tech.

The Pixel is a great phone but I love Samsung and I can't live without the One UI dammit. Besides Google insists on keeping that phone in select markets and that makes it difficult for many people. Meanwhile can someone tell Apple that these two phones are the real face of innovation...thank you

Apple probably won't do anything similar either since they eagerly want you to by a macbook instead even though your phone is already capable enough to do quite a lot of computer only things now that's why they the tab s7 is far superior than the iPads because you can simply do a lot more on it.
Even if it come to India that 599 is gonna turn to 799 and 899 to 1200 $ . So be prepared . For that price most of the people in India go for iPhone rather that any other phone .
Great video! When it comes to battery life, I tell people this. The initial performance is not a reflection of the long term performance. It has been my experience since the Pixel 4XL that machine learning significantly improves the battery performance when the device learns you. My Pixel 4XL went from 4.5 hours screen-on-time to 8. My S21 Ultra is now getting between 8-9.5 hours. The day I got 9.5 hrs. of SOT, I went 24 hours on a single charge. No power saving tricks. I'm a power user. I look forward to seeing what the 6 Pro will give us with Tensor and a 5000mAh battery!
I had both phones. I had the p6p for 6 months since December 2022. Now I have a s21 ultra for over a month. They are basically the same feeling phone except some aspects. Battery life, screen brightness, screen design (less curved edges), speaker loudness, comfortability in one hand, signal strength in bad areas, fingerprint smoothness and speed, smaller punch hole,... All this is better on the S21 ultra Better squarish screen design (like S23 ultra), livelier sound speakers with a bit more bass, a bit better haptics, better camera (I think image processing), IMO better UI design go to P6P. Im a battery life, screen quality and speaker quality guy. I'd take the s21u over the p6p, because the Battery life is leaps better (I have exynos 2100) and the screen SEEMS better to my eyes at least. But both are so close. S21u is a bit louder, but then p6p sounds a bit better. For Battery life, there's no contest. P6p even after all the android 13 quality updates that came in late 2022 and early 2023, still can't barely do me 1 day medium heavy use, yet the exynos s21u does that and still some 20% left and that WITH an older and more degraded Battery that's like 90% health!!!!

Google my brother. Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra is great but I think Google phones are smoother. Just my opinion. Doesn't cost as much. Fantastic photos. Mind you I'm just using a Pixel 4....getting the Pixel 6. But from a lower level 4 I can tell you it's great so the actual main model should be better.
I have the s21 ultra and I never use 100 times zoom. I just ordered the pixel 6 pro. I like the ultra but kept reaching for the 4xl. S21 ultra battery performance is great. I run Nova launcher. I never run a launcher on the Pixel.

One UI is far better than the old Touch Wiz, but I much prefer the cleaner Pixel OS. Actually I’ve been running the beta of OneUI 4 based on Android 12 for over a month now. So if you join the beta program you’ve been getting android 12 way before Google released it🤷♂️

Google fan here since the Nexus 1, decided to go full on Samsung last month and got a S21 Ultra, did a camera comparison with a 6 Pro at Best buy and I'm definitely sticking Samsung. At both 10 and 20x zoom the Samsung beats the Pixel by a lot

The camera bump bar is definitely a weird choice for google to take. It looks like an image of what people in the 1960s/70s thought glasses would be in the future, like in the first year's of star trek.
Sold by this phone from day one. My pre order is in I went for the 256 GB version . Looking forward to the free Bose headphones as well. Cracking deal.
After days of research I just bought both of these phones. Not even close. The Samsung ($100.00 more) has way more features, and the cameras are way better. The exception is that the Google 4x zoom is better than the Samsung 3x zoom. I found the Google interface intolerable. The batteries I didn't compare because the Google went right back into its box and returned.
BTW, they don't have the same chip, Exynos uses a 4x3x1 configuration (4 low power cores, 3 medium cores and one powerful core), Google Tensor uses a 4x2x2 arrangement (4 low power, 2 medium power and 2 high power cores)

Why dont we see smaller phones with pro features. I like having a smaller phone in my pocket and being able to use it with one hand most of the time. I don't understand why so many phone manufacturers think every pro user wants a massive heavy phone to carry. I wonder how many people feel this way and phone manufacturers are overlooking this market. The regular iphone 13 pro is the closest I have seen. Unfortunately I refuse to go back into this boring, low innovation, company controlled ecosystem for the third time.
Pixel 6 isn't even close. The price is great for what it offers. It wins there. BUT it simply isn't a true flagship. Camera is not next gen, power is not on to par, and with a garbage fingerprint sensor and NO face unlock it's a chore to unlock 100 times a day. They did make a great jump BUT it's not there yet And yes the availability is a pain as it's not selling in many markets.

I don't watch reviews to get spec sheets read to me. You're telling me I need to watch other videos to see the things I came here to see in the first place. I miss the dislike count.
All I know is, my pixel 2xl made it well past the contract. I dropped it several times without a protective case and the screen never cracked. I've never had a Samsung make it through 1 year without a crack in the screen, forget about through the contract. Not even an otter box helped. The only Samsung I ever had that was still usable after the contract was my note 4 and the screen was in rough shape. I had that phone cased the entire time.
I enjoyed the video immensely. I will be buying the pixel 7 Pro as soon as it comes out but the information I gained about the 6 Pro gives me an idea of what to expect. You are greatly appreciated and have a friend in Columbus Ohio!

They're not both offering 3 large android updates, Google is offering 4 so while the S21 Ultra will be covered until android 14, the Pixel 6 is covered all the way until android 16. Heck, even the Samsung S22 series which will come with android 12 out of the box, won't be covered as long as this Pixel. The S22 will stop at android 15. Edit: And the Pixel 6 pro isn't a hundred dollars cheaper, it's 2 hundred dollars cheaper. The S21 Ultra's price isn't $1000, it is still $1100.
It's cheaper for a good reason. Cheap design. Optical fingerprint scanner instead of ultrasonic as in the S21 Ultra, software looks like it caters to children, etc...

Google is offering OS updates until Oct. 2024 for P6P, while S21U will get OS updates until Jan. 2025. Both will be updated to A15, but no higher. As for security updates, P6P is good until Oct. 2026 and the S21U will be good until Jan. 2026, respectively.
S21 Ultra way more expensive here in germany. 1200 euros against 900 euros pre order and BOSE 700 headphones that costs 250 euros. Pixel 6 pro winner in terms of price value ratio all the way.
i wish youtubers like you would talk more about whether or not the youtube app is running on 120 hertz because as far as i know the s21 ultra is the only phone on which it natively runson 120 hertz. on some other 120 hertz phones you can force it to run that smooth buty not even on all. so just saying it has a 120 hertz display doesn't mean everything...

My prediction is it will be just on par with SD 888 devices but after a few updates when they've had more time to nail it down, and more importantly after the app developers have had time to learn to code better for it, it will start to pull ahead and maybe even leave the others in the dust but we'll wait and see about that. They already make a software experience that runs just as smooth on lesser hardware so things could get quite interesting with their decisions behind the hardware.
i know its crazy but im selling my s21 Ultra to get the Pixel 6. Nothing against the ultra but its just no longer important for me to be in a samsung ecosystem. Plus google software is just better.
But think about it: the Pixel isn't offering you anything you've lost on the latest Samsung phones anyway. No headphone jack, no IR blaster, no SD card slot, no charging brick, no headphones....
I've turned down free upgrades because I'd basically have the same phone with half the storage and a ugly camera bump. And my point was Samsung used to be miles ahead of Google but now Google is basically releasing the same phone for cheaper. I just miss back when Samsung was the obvious choice. (Note 5-Note 9 era)

I'm making the same switch. I like that it has a similar design language other than the selfie camera moving to a more distracting place.
Why not make the pro with a Matt finish and keep the glossy top l with some coloured power buttons for that stand out look

Google my brother. Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra is great but I think Google phones are smoother. Just my opinion. Doesn't cost as much. Fantastic photos. Mind you I'm just using a Pixel 4....getting the Pixel 6. But from a lower level 4 I can tell you it's great so the actual main model should be better.

I have the s21 ultra and I never use 100 times zoom. I just ordered the pixel 6 pro. I like the ultra but kept reaching for the 4xl. S21 ultra battery performance is great. I run Nova launcher. I never run a launcher on the Pixel.

One UI is far better than the old Touch Wiz, but I much prefer the cleaner Pixel OS. Imagine knowing you only have installed the apps you want, and not having to hide or bundle the bloatware into a folder.

CPU are really different, tensor have 2 core X1 under clock, and 2 cortex a76, Samsung have only one X1 but clock higher, and 3 cortex a78.

After days of research I just bought both of these phones. Not even close. The Samsung ($100.00 more) has way more features, and the cameras are way better. The exception is that the Google 4x zoom is better than the Samsung 3x zoom. I found the Google interface intolerable. The batteries I didn't compare because the Google went right back into its box and returned.
BTW, they don't have the same chip, Exynos uses a 4x3x1 configuration (4 low power cores, 3 medium cores and one powerful core), Google Tensor uses a 4x2x2 arrangement (4 low power, 2 medium power and 2 high power cores)

Why dont we see smaller phones with pro features. I like having a smaller phone in my pocket and being able to use it with one hand most of the time. I don't understand why so many phone manufacturers think every pro user wants a massive heavy phone to carry. I wonder how many people feel this way and phone manufacturers are overlooking this market. The regular iphone 13 pro is the closest I have seen. Unfortunately I refuse to go back into this boring, low innovation, company controlled ecosystem for the third time.

The price is great for what it offers. It wins there.
BUT it simply isn't a true flagship.
Camera is not next gen, power is not on to par, and with a garbage fingerprint sensor and NO face unlock it's a chore to unlock 100 times a day.
They did make a great jump BUT it's not there yet
And yes the availability is a pain as it's not selling in many markets.

Why whine about fingerprints when just about anyone with commonsense puts a case/wallet around their phone?
All I know is, my pixel 2xl made it well past the contract. I dropped it several times without a protective case and the screen never cracked. I've never had a Samsung make it through 1 year without a crack in the screen, forget about through the contract. Not even an otter box helped. The only Samsung I ever had that was still usable after the contract was my note 4 and the screen was in rough shape. I had that phone cased the entire time.

They're not both offering 3 large android updates, Google is offering 4 so while the S21 Ultra will be covered until android 14, the Pixel 6 is covered all the way until android 16.
Heck, even the Samsung S22 series which will come with android 12 out of the box, won't be covered as long as this Pixel. The S22 will stop at android 15.
Edit: And the Pixel 6 pro isn't a hundred dollars cheaper, it's 2 hundred dollars cheaper. The S21 Ultra's price isn't $1000, it is still $1100.
It's cheaper for a good reason. Cheap design. Optical fingerprint scanner instead of ultrasonic as in the S21 Ultra, software looks like it caters to children, etc...

The only real difference is the ultrasonic fingerprint scanner and Samsung Dex, but if you think they're worth $300 more then you are a child.
Google is offering OS updates until Oct. 2024 for P6P, while S21U will get OS updates until Jan. 2025. Both will be updated to A15, but no higher. As for security updates, P6P is good until Oct. 2026 and the S21U will be good until Jan. 2026, respectively.
S21 Ultra way more expensive here in germany. 1200 euros against 900 euros pre order and BOSE 700 headphones that costs 250 euros. Pixel 6 pro winner in terms of price value ratio all the way.
They target different markets. Samsung buyers won't buy pixel they will go for Xiaomi or oppo way mostly. Google is targeting iphone users.

We can't see any difference if you are just swiping around in the menu....
My prediction is it will be just on par with SD 888 devices but after a few updates when they've had more time to nail it down, and more importantly after the app developers have had time to learn to code better for it, it will start to pull ahead and maybe even leave the others in the dust but we'll wait and see about that. They already make a software experience that runs just as smooth on lesser hardware so things could get quite interesting with their decisions behind the hardware.
i know its crazy but im selling my s21 Ultra to get the Pixel 6. Nothing against the ultra but its just no longer important for me to be in a samsung ecosystem. Plus google software is just better.

So very disappointed in Google's zoom performance. I had such high hopes but it cannot even perform as well as my mate 20 x for zoom at 30x prowess and the fact that you cannot run this battery out in a day no matter how hard you try ⚡. I'll hold on to this one until the next one makes me want it more!
