Neurotypical spectrum disorder?! That's a definite subscription for me. 😅
    Thank you for your service!

The only reason i passed geometry was because the teacher had known me since i was little. It was a pity pass lol

Or... They knew you were intelligent enough to get past those shortcomings, and felt they'd be holding back your potential along with a failing grade

😭 I was always bad in maths. I am pretty sure I am discalculic.
But when we did "formal logic" and "Mengenlehre" in 12th class where no numbers are needed I got best possible points which my teacher found very strange😅
Same with Physics coming to the "no numbers section".
But Dyscalculia was not even a word I've heard in the eighties and nineties when I went to school, other then Dyslexia and I had no problems with reading or writing, totally the other way round I learned early.

Yeah, I'm not dissimilar. I've got ASD, and I have all the skills listed in the video - Pattern recognition, data sorting, spatial awareness, etc - but I'm basically useless at any kind of mental math beyond the basics. I can do the math if I have a calculator(Or if you have a lot of time on your hands to wait for an answer, on paper, by breaking it down to the absolute basics), because I know and understand the formulas, but I just cannot carry out the actual operation. I figure, much like yourself, high chance I've got dyscalcula.
BUT, interestingly enough, one of the careers I've had? I'm a master Machinist, a job that involves an incredible amount of math. Because I just kept a calculator in my toolbox(In fact, more than one - always good to have a spare). In fact, most of the workshop lads did - because even though they COULD do the math, why spend the mental effort doing the math when you can just use a calculator and be much faster? This isn't a classroom, with a teacher tut-tutting over your shoulder about how you won't have a calculator with you all the time when you get out into the world.

@@Churbas Oh in higher classes we were using calculators, I remember getting the CASIO FX SOLAR from the class order. That was helpful but I was still bad at Algebra, "Kurvendiskussion"(curve discussion?) and stuff like that😅

I've got the brand of autism where my verbal and spatial skills carry my math skills. Which is to say, I'm better at math than average, but I'm not nearly as good at mental arithmetic as my dad (who can work out 2-3 digit problems reasonably quickly without resorting to paper or electronics). But my brain processes equations as language and functions as graphs.

    What is neurotypical spectrum disorder??

Many videos on this channel essentially take place in a fictional world where neurodivergent people are considered "normal" and neurotypical people are the "disordered" ones. So "neurotypical spectrum disorder" is what this world calls the "disorder" that results in someone being neurotypical. Parallel to our world where e.g. autistic people have "autism spectrum disorder".

It’s what some people call “normal folks”
