Thank you. I have a new 3 month old Violet Indian Ring Neck here (Ohio). He is a picky eater. I greatly appreciate the information you gave here. I plan to start sprouting soon, when my supplies are delivered. Thanks again, good presentation.
I'm making sprouts for my picky budgies. I hope they'll eat it, because one is on an all-seed diet, which isn't healthy for her, and my other budgie just doesn't like her veggies. my gcc will probably like them because she's not picky at all.
have just started sprouting. i started with lentils and they are great ... one question i have been told that sprouted beans are toxic for cockatiels ... i cant find any data to back this up .. is it true ?
Yes this is true! But large beans. Any small bean is fine. However, beans like pinto, navy, soy, etc are all toxic unless they are completely soaked and cooked through. They’re best used for chop or mash mixes, not in sprouts. Hope this helped :)
How long did it take your Indian Ringneck to warm up to you? I have had mine for 1 week & he is a little over 2 months old. He wants nothing to do with me, especially my hand. He finally tolerates me when I clean his cage & give him food (not from my hand🙁. Maybe someday). I am so desperately seeking advice on this little guy. I would love to hear about your experiences, advice & any tips regarding your Indian Ringneck. Thank you! 🦜
Unfortunately, my IRN was a rescue with major behavioral issues who I was never able to handle. I surrendered her to a parrot rescue facility over 2 years ago, due to those issues. I recommend Bird Tricks for help with your bird, and I wish you great luck 💜
I can’t find any information specifically on this, but I’m sure it would be okay. Just dilute it a little to be safe. It’s more of a yeasty vinegar, while apple cider vinegar is brighter and fruity.
@@BBsBeasties thank you, can we use 1 or 2 teaspoon of natural white vinegar? (When I am about to put it in the fridge, I add water, and 1 or 2 teaspoon of white vinegar, is that okay ? Then I rinse it again with water , let it dry (not that dry) and put it in fridge please reply is it ok to do this. **Also can we do this with normal bird seed?**
@@roseankara3054 you don’t want to add sprouts to the fridge with water. They need to have as much water shaken out as possible. I demonstrated the proper way to rinse the seeds in this video. I encourage you to watch it again. When using the vinegar, it is not a certain amount. It is just enough to rinse over the sprouts when they are finished sporting and then I rinse them with water again to remove some of the vinegar. No water or vinegar is left. Also, I’ve never sprouted standard bird seed, but you’re welcome to try.

Hello, I am a big fan of your videos. I am 13 years old and from halfway around the globe all the way from Bangladesh! I want to start breeding finches. I want to give them sprouts 2-4 times a week. Can you please give me a good sprout seed mix for finches. I want something that is simple, cheap and easily found. I want it to contain all the things needed for my finches. Also, can you give me the measurements. Thanks! Please reply.
@@g13591-z um I have been breeding buddies for a while but I stopped. And I did breed finches before, so I think I can do it. I did start but I didn’t let them breed yet due to the weather.
@@g13591-z I am making a small aviary so I am planning of letting them breed once or twice a year. That’s all. And if there is too many I can always sell them or give them away, but only to the people who know how to keep them alive and actually like birds.
@@abyankabir1910 that seems fine, as long as you give them proper care. birds can get very expensive and they need big cages to be happy. you seem to know what you are doing
Davis’ Exotics it doesn’t :/ sprouts come from seeds, beans, and other legumes, not from vegetables. Birds still need a wide variety of vegetables, fruits, and other grains to thrive. Leafy greens, green veggies, orange/yellow veggies, low-sugar fruits like berries, etc - they need all of this BEFORE sprouts. Sprouts are incredibly healthy and beneficial, but they can’t be a main diet. They just make a nice, healthy addition to their daily diet :)

Rickey Williams awesome!! I have another video all about my bird’s diet if you’re interested! It goes into FULL detail of everything I feed her!
Thank you sooo much my budgies enjoyed these I was quite shocked because they are picky eaters I think they thought it is their normal seed mix 😂
Yeah, I'm using the same. Pre prepared seeds just right and healthy for your birds.
What a cool and helpful video! ❤️ sprouts are so healthy

Thanks for the great video! Do all seeds take the same 5 days to grow? And can I mix more than one kind in the same jar?
I will try this

breeding birds is unethical and you shouldn't do it. it's much harder than you think, and there is no reason to do it.

What was that to which you added the sprout. That looks like bread crumbled - not sure though. How did you make that bread dish ?

All this rinsing is unnecessary

I agree, an extra rinsing, or two, in cold water, seems to keep the sprouts fresher another day or so .
