My chinese father moved to Cuba in the 70's and married my mother there. He bought a nice house and as a child I went with him to the roof top of the house where he grew bean sprouts and dried shrimp. Since he worked in a chinese newspaper printing company there, he had access to a surplus of old newspapers that he used on the roof top to grow the sprouts. He would make setup a thick bed of newspaper, lay out the seeds and cover it with a thin layer. Those sprouts grew long and full. He would sell dried shrimp and bean sprouts in the black market.
Hello! I'm 16 years old and cooking is one of my favorite things to do ever since I watched my grandmother cook. I really love to try different kinds of food and I love the way you explain things and how well it turns out in your videos. Thank you and God bless.
I have been buying poor quality sprouts at my supermarket, then I saw a video of what good sprouts look like. Then I found your procedure, I will be doing this.
This explanation of how to grow the real Asian style fat and long white bean sprouts is perfect and the best I've seen from many youtube clips I've seen. My husband tried it out directly and it really turned out great! Now it's my turn to try it out! Her recipe also seems awesome. I love the fact that she is authentic from Asia where they use bean sprouts a lot in their cooking. A great how to video clip!
Actually Im not fun of this kind of hobby, but from the very start to listen Im immediately fasten because of the clearness and preciseness of the explanation. I got it, thank you. absolutely I have to grow my own.
Thank you for shaing this method for growing bean sprouts as we have not been able to buy them here locally and I love using them in egg rolls and in my stirfry.
I tried this once a month. So nice to do it at home. I love that you break down the proportions, see how much maximize beans can grow after soaked in water.
Found a plastic sieve and bowel that fit together with a lid at the Dollar Store for $2.00 for making my Mung Bean Sprouts! Will have to find Cheese Cloth to make them all stand up like yours. Best Bean Sprouting video ever!!! Thank you
thank you dear for showing us all the very easy and effective method of growing up the sprouts, and also I do admire your way of speaking, so sweet to hear.
Thank you for this wonderful video. Recently, I had a rice bowl at a nearby restaurant that had the most delicious bean sprouts. They were crisp, clean and not at all bitter. If I could have such fresh bean sprouts all the time, I would eat them every day. I'll try to grow my own.
Hi @Souped up Recipes!! 👋😊 WOW! So I followed your instructions to a T, and just harvested my very first batch of organic soy beans sprouts! 😃👍 At every stage, they looked exactly like yours. I'm so happy right now! 😆 I have them now in a zip lock bag in fridge & will probably do a stir fry tonight. Tip: I used organic soy beans from an organic grocery store. They were not "vacuum sealed", but in a bag with plenty of air👍 And they worked great! 🙌💞THANK YOU🙏
Awesome. I love sprouting because sprouts are incredibly nutritious. I've sprouted mung beans several times. I usually begin snacking on them as soon as they grow a tail, though :)
I can see why you have so many subscribers, count me in. Wonderful personality, beautiful soul. I m going out today to buy mung beans. Thank you for your time.
Very nice! It is evident that you care about your viewers having success in following your recipes! I'm always afraid to buy bean sprouts or alfalfa sprouts because of listeria bacteria. I'm glad to know how to do it at home - and I can do just a few at a time if I want just enough for one recipe. I don't cook Chinese very often, but I have been doing it more since I found your videos! Thank you for all you do. The ingredients list at the end was a nice bonus, too!
Finally, the best and most comprehensive, detailed explanation of the best way to sprout beans (other than the forced aeration industrial process). Thank you for this...excellent ideas in this video.
This is a very detailed explanation. Thanks for making this video. Very helpful to someone who is trying it for the first time. Please make more of these videos. Great presentation! ❤️
Thank you for your help. Your videos are are precise and easy to follow. I love all the detail: why you should and why you shouldn't. I appreciate your detailed explanations of what can go wrong and how to prevent it. Thank you for helping me become a better home cook.
Nicely done, Mandy. Safe travels! I have just returned from Chongqing, and Sichuan food is my favorite. Thanks so much for your videos. I regularly make the dishes you demonstrate, and always keep a jar of chili oil with peanuts handy. Like you, I put them on everything - - eggs, noodles, dipping scallion pancakes, and more.
No matter what some people think about your show but I think your show was show more cleat and let us know every corner of it that. Full of reminded and teach to some that never know .tjank for your sharing this experience .
Hi Mandy I've been growing my own bean sprouts so that I have fresh ingredients. I use them for noodle dishes but my favourite is Korean style salad. Very helpful tips that you out lined, TQ
We are just setting up our planting for this year and I love bean sprouts, and was surprised at how fast they develop. One week!! Amazing I want to thank you for your post and I think that I’ll be trying your recipe as well👍
Thank you for putting together the Amazon page for us. It will be very helpful. My favorite use of bean sprouts is in pad Thai. I didn't think about using them for a fresh salad. Now I will!
Thank you so much for the detailed explanation. For many years I am trying and couldn’t get the result. You have the secret to wrap in towel. (In our country we sprout it without cloth for a day or two) stay blessed
I bought your wok from Amazon. I had a hard time using it on my flat top electric stove. Then I remembered that I have a single propane burner on the side of the barbecue grill! Works great!
Beautiful and clear information I have sprouted beans for years using several other methods but this appears to me the easiest and safest way to get healthy results. Thanks for sharing.
Best video I've seen so far, and by a LOT. Thank you!. Cute fun presentation, good information, and inspiring. I've only sprouted mung beans for my 'Dave Fu Yung', but that salad looks like my next victim.
Perfect ! I have always found that when I buy them there is more than I can use before they go bad. They don't last more than two or three days so I end up throwing out half of them. Now I can grow only what I need and have the freshest sprouts and not waste any. Thank you.
I appreciate how you stress cleanliness and high quality in growing sprouts! They can get listeria and other nasty bugs that cause sickness if they are not handled properly. Thanks for your great videos.
I love bean sprouts. I eat them raw as a snack and in salads. I also love using them to make egg foo young. I would love to see you do a video making this.
This is a wonderful video. I have some mungo beans to grow these sprouts but the directions I have seen up to not have been wishy washy and gave a very small amout of bean sprouts. Yours makes sense. I will do this as you have shown and I am very confident.
Thanks for great instructional. You're the ONLY youtuber I was able to find who provided the ratio of mung beans to place in the sprouting container used (2/3 beans). So helpful and necessary! Question about storage: Do you remove your beans from the cheesecloth before refrigerating (in bag or container) or do you keep beans in the cloth? Do you rinse the beans while in storage? Keep them covered or uncovered? If you will explain more on how they are stored to prolong life and quality, it will be extra helpful. Also, it appears you cut the roots off the sprouts. Were they snipped before refrigerating or before cooking? Appreciate your time and no-nonsense, personable approach to sharing and instructing.
I am on day 1 of sprouting mung beans. So far, so good. I have to tell you how much I enjoy your videos. Everything looks delicious and nothing looks too difficult. I went to Amazon and got a load of stuff. I have to tell you that dark soy sauce is a game changer! Why did it take me so long to discover it?? Thanks for all the videos. I look forward to trying many of them.
Thank you! I have been trying to grow mung beans, and actually bought seeds! They didn't work and I am frustrated...until now! I can't wait to try it your way, and visit your Amazon link! Thank you so much.
*Wow, Mandy!! You make sure with each video to cover, A - Z . Thank you for the resources you added now. Wonderful information. Have a beautiful weekend.* 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
Thank you for teaching us how to grow bean sprouts your way. Good teaching on what beans , material to use 👍🤗. I tried it the first time 👍. The second time I forgot to soak the beans for 24hours, so it’s roots were too long, and the sprouts were a bit too lean 😲. Anyway, they were still edible. 😀 thanks again. God bless you for sharing.
First time here and I love this channel ! Clear, easy to understand and follow. I also LOVE the Ingredients list at the end with all the recipes/explanations. Very well done ! Thank you

Haha 😂 a hundred pair stinky socks lol I grew my bean sprouts in my plastic calendar and used wet paper towel that I made wet first, then put my dish and seeds in the fridge to sprout, I was so happy I grew bean sprouts all by myself lol and they were beautiful ❤️
So many TH-cam videos on sprouting, but this is honestly the best one! Clear instructions and explanation.

@chandamamakathalu9489 At that time, you would have been painting with lead as well. You speak after the fact.

That's pretty awesome!! I was born and raised there too, tho a different time period. I wonder which beans he grew, black beans?
