hope this encourages you pre-enlistees... on my first IPPT cat test.. i ran 14mins plus and was the 2nd last guy in the entire test... but on the next IPPT test about a week or 2 later.. I ran 10mins plus.. so... don't worry..
I have just been to Singapore for the first time. The country is just as big as Metro Manila, but the streets are clean, creeks do not clog, taxi drivers are well disciplined. I just wish that one day, we Filipinos as a nation would be as disciplined as the Singaporeans.
im not from the army or anything, but im entering ns next year, and when you're 10, your lungs arent going to be as big as they will be at 18, so you wont take as much air as when you're older. still, keep training, it will only take a few minutes a day, good luck ps, try jump rope, it helps stamina and speed
what is the point of running 2.4km test, ?in war no one will be running around in pt kit. i suggest they have a longer soc run. say run 1.5km then clear obstacles then run another 800m.
NS is still an experience of a lifetime, you'll learn stuffs you will not outside, although i do feel that during my days of NS, some trainings of combat aint that dependable, it is still always not what NS is made of but who the men you are with that makes NS!
Wow, I just saw the scoring chart for the IPPT! Why are the required reps for push ups and situps so low?! I can totally get Gold all the time if I was there. At 38 years old, I can max my pushups/sits by hitting the 60s in 1 minute, and run 1.5miles at 10:30.
@weiming1991 in my unit 4sab brc, we take ippt and soc test 2 x per year. my coy has 5 km to 7k runs twice a week if we are not having any field exercise.
cat test only ... i recruit (2005) they have the eliss system .. but damned shitty for 2.4 need to run at the tekong running track .. end up i failed my 2.4
@xBlueWinter No, more like I hope I don't even enter any platoon. Because, you've said it, by declaring that I have AS will only make me end up being cast aside and that's why I don't want to make myself a fool by joining 1 in the 1st place. But I can't imagine myself trying to pull through whatever everybody else is experiencing. I dunno but I'll see what happens when the time comes. Meanwhile I'll just stick to being honest with the message that I'll bring across to the medical assessment.
Not really. From the looks of it, the sar-21 was more heavy influenced by the AUG and G36. The names just happen to be similar as the acronyms have completely different meanings and the 21 refers to the century.
@xBlueWinter You'd also tell me 'this is NS, your uniqueness no longer matters when it comes to joining the rest to serve the nation'. I'm not self-centered; I'd support any cause that is for a better good. But if sacrificing my sanity to what I consider as torture in NS is gonna make the authorities the self-centered ones, then how are you gonna expect me to do my best to embrace the differences we have, especially when they don't? All I hope for both sides is some humanity, in mind & heart.
@xBlueWinter You know I freaked out when I saw my NS registration letter last week. I don't know my chances of exemptions, but I really hope my AS won't be ignored. As for my social life in school now, it's not painting a good picture, and so yeah it's adding to the fear. I've come across a few cases of AS people being classified as PES A/B...they look fine on the outside, but (shaking my head now) you have no idea how much they went through, and that is what I'm SO worried about all along.
@laubeatz "SAF seems achievable for everyone." What's your point? Fitness can be trained with time. Who cares how many situps you can dish out? Conscription is part of our culture - for Singaporean males. We serve. Our sons serve. Their sons serve. You are an Australian and never a Singaporean. You never served in the Singaporean Military. You never lived in Singapore. So what's your point?
@xBlueWinter Look, there's gotta be all kinds of people around the world. That includes what each person defines as the amount of strength/resilience he/she has (and so what if you think he/she's weak?). What I've been through in my life (or what I WILL go through in NS) is nothing to you, but it's a lot to take for someone like me with Asperger's Syndrome (NOT excuses). I may be born with a different perspective of the world as a result, but I'm not stupid when it comes to knowing my own limits
From the opening song in the video, you can already detect that NS is one really horrible breeding ground for the crudest Singlish you'll ever hear, and even though you'd think brotherhood would be formed from there, I think that's where I'd be the most outcasted instead. But obviously Singlish isn't the only concern I have...still, every concern I have still boils down to respect for differences, and before I show mine, MINDEF should ask themselves by forcing me into NS, have they shown theirs?
@seoulhangungmal Also, if you were to ask any Singapore above 40 years old, they will tell you how you guys are lucky and pampered. If this is torture to you, then having generations surviving way worse torture and still preserving their sanity, doesn't that reflect badly on your resilience and strength?
@xBlueWinter Well I hope what you said is true that deep down inside all of us we're 'one at heart', hope to see that kind of thing when I enlist so that I'd be more willing to return(contribute) my part. I grow up hearing Singlish, so some Singlish is fine, but not to the point where everyone is so proud of this creole unique to NS that they 'forcefully' immerse it onto you. Yes immersion is normal but not until they make you forget who you are, you get what I mean? See, respect comes in here.
this one more bettet i get silver but nw the new one is standard push in my ns days the enchik dun even hw you do as long you chest goes down n pump down
@seoulhangungmal They immerse it onto you? In what way? And it's not about changing who you are. I'm sure your whole being won't be changed just by Singlish. Look at the people who come out, they remain true to themselves. And well, nowadays NS isn't torture compared to the past. Do you know the special packet food you get on jungle treks are expensive, enriched and made by the Health Sciences Authority? That's one classic example of being pampered. You get milo too.
@seoulhangungmal As a reply to so what if I think someone's weak, I'm saying that would just corroborate with the thinking that the younger generations cannot take pain or difficulty, and I don't want anyone else to help ascertain that belief. But as to you having AS, that would explain the fact you can't thrive in Singlish. I assume that your motor skills and dexterity should have developed properly by now, so not much excuse there. But dude, shouldn't you be exempted from NS then?
In Thai there was army reservation training almost 1 day per week 3 year while we were in highschool But you have to past physical test UnlessIf you don't pass that you have to sign for conscipt when 21 thinking about escape there was a jail waiting for u But about the conscipct you can easily got you self killed by the terrorist ps perhapThese guy had better in this case that not serious at all
@seoulhangungmal Alright. Your only hope is to scream "I HAVE AS" to your commanders when they try to make you do something and chances are 90% of them will have no idea what that is and freak out and let you sit by the side. Or your parents can appeal for you, saying that you get suicidal when you're forced to do stuff or suffer too much pressure. That reason alone has helped many ASD sufferers get leeway, I believe. But it's gonna get you seriously alienated from your platoon mates.
Yes, but everyone knows that it's coming. Many even train so that they will score better on it. Also Singapore needs to maintain a strong military because of their population being low compared to that of its neighbors.
hope this encourages you pre-enlistees... on my first IPPT cat test.. i ran 14mins plus and was the 2nd last guy in the entire test... but on the next IPPT test about a week or 2 later.. I ran 10mins plus.. so... don't worry..
Daniel - NAPFA Gold
Dudley - Former College Canoeist
Qing Wei - Of Average Fitness 0:54
Editor be trolling
national service was painful but worthwhile. you get toughened up mentally and learn to focus and be disciplined. you make life long friends too.
I have just been to Singapore for the first time. The country is just as big as Metro Manila, but the streets are clean, creeks do not clog, taxi drivers are well disciplined. I just wish that one day, we Filipinos as a nation would be as disciplined as the Singaporeans.
How come only QingWei has subtitles? LOLOL
HongWei Teo china
Is this national service? Must be tough on all those poor guys suddenly thrown into a military world.
Any tips for standing broad jump? Can't seem to pass. :(
im not from the army or anything, but im entering ns next year, and when you're 10, your lungs arent going to be as big as they will be at 18, so you wont take as much air as when you're older. still, keep training, it will only take a few minutes a day, good luck

@naziely Its Orion, not Ninja (my batch of course i would know)
Wow, I just saw the scoring chart for the IPPT! Why are the required reps for push ups and situps so low?! I can totally get Gold all the time if I was there. At 38 years old, I can max my pushups/sits by hitting the 60s in 1 minute, and run 1.5miles at 10:30.
haha..u sure?
Easier said than done buddy, there's a reason it's a common military benchmark
I don’t understand what their talking about.
Glen liang is my school teacher
@weiming1991 in my unit 4sab brc, we take ippt and soc test 2 x per year. my coy has 5 km to 7k runs twice a week if we are not having any field exercise.
@cyberpioneertv
does every ns man get a ns singlet?
is it true that if u fail ur napfa u consistently u will need to serve 8 month earlier ??
when was this filmed? cos as of now, there is still an active orion company in tekong but they are a PTP batch. is this the one or an earlier one?
Now no more 5station oledi..change to 3..push up,sit up using machine..2.4km timing much better..if not gold need 9min beh tahan
Exactly
cat test only ... i recruit (2005) they have the eliss system .. but damned shitty for 2.4 need to run at the tekong running track .. end up i failed my 2.4
I heard there’ll be no more ippt
What happens if we are in average fitness......
Who else did the NAPHA test in primary school?
@cyberpioneertv What if I don't get to do well on most stations?
@sakadafreak
Yes, same type of shoe. It will issue to recruits during enlistment.
What are their facebooks???I die die 3 weeks finding their facebook
is qing wei from china ? his accent is a bit like my china friend which also have to serve NS
@xBlueWinter No, more like I hope I don't even enter any platoon. Does PTP intake get graded once they enter BMT as well? And does the Grade A B C thing applies to PTP intake?
Not really. From the looks of it, the sar-21 was more heavy influenced by the AUG and G36. The names just happen to be similar as the acronyms have completely different meanings and the 21 refers to the century.
@keeyk118b we need to pass ippt every week?or once pass no need take alr?
@Robinhokage hell yeah!
If I now in NS. I sure fail 2.4KM my current timing. 16.16 min. My passing timing is >15 Min
@Pokonoinoi it was from the army ^_^
Is there any physical training before the IPPT ?
6:20 , so what happens to those who did well ?
What is Napfa, and is it easy? Im singaporean but im living in Thailand, i have to do NS though.
If you train it should be easy if you don’t then it will be hard
i am good at push up i cant run fast
just remember to put the marathon and lightweight pro perk on during 2.4 run and you will pass.
That's why I'm training for my SBJ, both in terms of technique and leg power. It's the only station that holds me back from NAPFA Silver.
I wonder how will the future singapore training will be
wow... this is the same as ncc but more tougher
So cute that only that one guy has subtitles. Poor guy.
12 is 5 points(max)...gold doesn't have to be full 5 points.. @up2wind
I have to attend NS in 4 years and im really scared
Feeling better now?
@xBlueWinter You'd also tell me 'this is NS, your uniqueness no longer matters when it comes to joining the rest to serve the nation'. I'm not self-centered; I'd support any cause that is for a better good. why the IPPT like so easy to get gold???
But I guess it drums discipline into a country which is good.
How embarrassing for the guy who had to have subtitles when he spoke.
Very good shape 🥰
@laubeatz Dude, 30 sit up in a minute, 36 for gold in a minute.
@hychlovenoel I seriously can totally understand that feeling.
RJ!
7 hours of rest is a luxury man
36 situps gold standard? for australian army 70 for pass, i did 100.. 2.4k pass was 11:18.. SAF seems achievable for everyone
From the opening song in the video, you can already detect that NS is one really horrible breeding ground for the crudest Singlish you'll ever hear, and even though you'd think brotherhood would be formed from there, I think that's where I'd be the most outcasted instead. @alex3848 so 1 situp per 2 seconds? lol
How about men who r obese
theres some episode regarding that too , they enlist earlier for like exercise etc before bmt
@seoulhangungmal
Also, if you were to ask any Singapore above 40 years old, they will tell you how you guys are lucky and pampered. If this is torture to you, then having generations surviving way worse torture and still preserving their sanity, doesn't that reflect badly on your resilience and strength?
If they can make mandatory to drawing lots just like how thailand does, i guess nobody will complain anymore
my 1.6km timing is 10.42 so i don't know whether i can do 2.4 in 15min. (I'm 10 yrs old and a boy)
@xBlueWinter Well I hope what you said is true that deep down inside all of us we're 'one at heart', hope to see that kind of thing when I enlist so that I'd be more willing to return(contribute) my part. SO MANY GLASSESSSSSSSS..
lol look at all the watches at the ready at the 2.4 run
This ippt way harder to score gold compared to now 3 station
@seoulhangungmal
They immerse it onto you? In what way?

@seoulhangungmal
As a reply to so what if I think someone's weak, I'm saying that would just corroborate with the thinking that the younger generations cannot take pain or difficulty, and I don't want anyone else to help ascertain that belief.

Guess so. Better stop spamming up this vid's comment box. Best of luck.
😅👍🏼🇸🇬
@cyberpioneertv Okay thanks. I will excerse until I get 18 - 19. Now I'm 12.
Completed your ns?
Yes, but everyone knows that it's coming. Many even train so that they will score better on it. Also Singapore needs to maintain a strong military because of their population being low compared to that of its neighbors.
