- One of these three journals contains a surprise! All three were created using the Eileen Hull Journal Die by Sizzix, but you'll have to watch to find out what secrets one of them holds.

Hi Alison, I'm so enjoying your series of books books books! Love the little surprise at the end it's so nice when an item is not what it seems from the outside. The faces that you'd forgotten that were in the art journal were so sweet I loved them 🥰
Thank you... it was a bit of a shock seeing them there - I'd completely forgotten about them!! So happy you enjoyed the (planned) surprise in the final (not) book too. Thanks so much for watching and commenting.
What a gorgeous journal covers😍I love them all, but how awesome is that suprise book with the fabulous vinette boxes on the inside with all the precious mini's in it❤
I had a lot of fun gathering all the bits and bobs for the vignettes, and they are full of stories (of course!). So happy you enjoyed the books books (not) books!!
Hello Alison! WOW… what an amazing surprise inside the third ‘book’… I love your stories and the idea of the family thinking whether they should keep all those treasures or not… too cute… what an assortment of items stored in their trunk! Someone else in the family would have to keep the skull and possibly the doll but I could store the rest of it. LOL
It’s a nice Sizzix die to create the bound journal - I love that it also cut the holes. I have a few Studio Light Journal Dies - a couple that I haven’t used in a while and a couple I haven’t used at all… another thing to add to that growing list of fun things to play with. Still looking forward to playing with Distress Inks and your latest release - I’ve started gathering everything at lease but I’ll be sure to let you know when I make time for it. Thanks again for all you do to encourage and inspire. Have a great day!!! 🙂
So pleased that you enjoyed the surprise inside the (not) book... someone else commented that they suddenly had a feeling that there had been a little girl in the family, who was no longer there - and that would definitely explain why they are conflicted about whether to preserve all the bits and pieces or not. Love the melancholy sadness of that!!
Your to-do list is getting longer and longer... but how lovely to have all those creative ideas ready and waiting for you whenever you have some time to spare. Hope you'll get some play time soon.
You have a great day too.
Beautiful! Love the lost and found book box. Lots of great ideas to get me creating. Thank you for sharing your art!❤
Excellent that you enjoyed the surprise inside the lost and found book. I'm so happy to hear that you are inspired to play. Thanks so much for watching and commenting.
They are all beautiful Alison. But the suprise journal is amazing💜💜
Thank you so much - happy you enjoyed the surprise!
Oh, I love these books, books, books, these are so beautiful, especially the hidden box with the adorable little things 😍👏👏👏🫶
Thank you, Silvie... glad you were tempted over to find out what the secret was!!
Beautiful journals, I love to see the contrast between spring and fall in the colors. Then the third journal is just stunning. The surprise when you opened it was wonderful. I make room boxes of miniatures that fit on the bookshelf. Now I will have to have a go at putting them in the book. So much inspiration Alison, thank you so much!
Oh great - a new way to display your miniatures! So very happy to be offering up inspiration for new ways to play. Now you really must be running out of videos!!!
I really love all 3 of these! So creative! Thank you for sharing. ❤
Thank you so much - happy you enjoyed the books books (not) books!
Thank you, Alison!
Three great makes🥰 fab surprise in the last, so many details👌🏻🤩
And I’m excited to see the colour-shift in your makings, even if I’m not ready for fall yet😅
Hope you are having a great and crafty summertime😘
Oh no, we won't be hitting the autumn colours for a good while yet... we're still in the height of summer here! So happy that you enjoyed peeking inside these journals, especially the surprise one! Thanks so much for watching and for your always lovely comments.
Yes I've enjoyed this quite a bit! Thank you for sharing, I also find dolls rather disturbing and a bit scary and though I collect many things, dolls are not on my list.😊😊😊😊🙏🙏🙏
I completely agree.... many collections of many things, but not dolls! I find the Frozen Charlottes and Salvaged Dolls pleasurably creepy, but at least they're nice and small!! Happy you enjoyed the books books (not) books.
All three so different but SO gorgeous!
Thank you very much - happy you enjoyed seeing inside the books books (not) books!
These are beautiful! I want to do a book box vignette like that one day. Yours is lovely.
Thank you so much - if you follow the link in the description below the video, you'll find lots of additional tips and tricks and making-of details in the blogpost which might help you out when you are ready to play. So happy to hear you are inspired, and thank you for your lovely comment.
I love the journal box. So clever and vintage
So happy to hear that - thank you very much for taking the time to let me know.
Truly appreciate your thoughts and talent, on this not to be missed journey 😊
Oh, thank you so much for that lovely comment.
These are great! Wonderful inspiration! Thank you for sharing.
You're welcome - happy you enjoyed peeking inside.
Great to see these all three. I would have expected the vignettes in the halloween book 😄, so that was a surprise.
Happy I can still surprise you!
Thanks for sharing your beautiful and inspirational books! Still watching from vacay in sunny Florida, USA!☀️🌊
Sounds like a lovely place to take a holiday. Are you by the ocean? Very happy you enjoyed the books books (not) books!
@@w0rdsandp1ctures yes, vacationing by the ocean. We live a few hours away! Most of my art is ocean and nature related!💙
Magical... now that I live in the most landlocked country in Europe, I do miss the sea!
That was a beautiful surprise! The book with the hidden boxes of vignettes is so intriguing and I love how you have built a story into all the little pieces. Whilst I was looking at the photos of the family, I suddenly felt that there had once been a little girl in the family and that she was no longer with them. Thanks so much for sharing your art and creativity, Alison 🥰
There's definitely something knotty and problematic in the holding-on/letting-go amongst the family... I love your melancholy thought about the lost girl. What a beautiful, sad chapter you've added to their story - thank you.
Thanks so much for your kind reply Alison 💕 I forgot to mention that I received your Violet stamps in the post last week and they are even more beautiful in person, if that is possible! I had so much fun testing them out and I’m excited by all the different things I will create with them 😊
Oh, that's wonderful to hear... I'm delighted the violets have found a happy home with you. Do tag me in if you're sharing anything you create on IG - I may have already mentioned that I love seeing what people get up to with the stamps. Absolutely not compulsory, of course!! Have a great weekend.
Gorgeous and inspiring!❤❤❤
Thanks so much - so pleased you enjoyed peeking inside the books books (not) books!
Beautiful Journals. They are inspiring me to dig out my Eileen Hull die and make some covers with your new stamps.
Ooh, they would look great... what a lovely idea! So happy this has inspired you to play.
My covers are cut and a play date organised for the weekend 😊
Oh wow!! All three of these are amazing!! The stamping and dies you used are all beautiful!! I love that last one with the assemblage! That is so gorgeous! New subbie here. I found you on Instagram. I love your work!! tfs
Very happy you found your way here - welcome! I'm delighted you enjoyed the surprise hiding in the final journal, and I hope you'll enjoy exploring the other videos here. Thanks so much for watching, commenting and subscribing.
ALWAYS A PLEASURE❤❤❤
Happy to hear it!
Wowee this is absolutely stunning 😍 Can I just say, I am completely and utterly obsessed with your voice!! One of the best I've ever heard. Love listening to you. You could narrate audio books, your voice is so calming. I can hear you now, being a voice over for Peter Rabbit or something similar. ❤
Thank you so much... given my (other) life as a text and voice coach, I guess it's not so surprising, but still lovely to hear, thank you. (Find out more about that on my website if you're interested www.alisonbomber.com and click to explore the Words side of things... easiest to navigate on a laptop or computer rather than a phone. I have done the odd bit of audio narration... and more planned in the future.)
So happy you're enjoying the videos... both the words and the pictures!
Is there anything more enjoyable than a close up into an artists shadowbox vignette ?? 👁️👁️👁️
I don't know... but not much, certainly!! Happy you enjoyed it, and thank you - as ever - for your comments. You always make me smile.
Love your ideas. I love making the book cases but you are so inspiring when it comes to filling them and their stories. Thank you.
@@wendytaylor3714 So happy to hear you enjoyed it... thank you for taking the time to let me know with your lovely comment. Have fun with your book cases.
Thank you, Alison. I am really enjoying following this journey with you. The stories you tell with your collages and vignettes are so interesting.
That's lovely feedback to receive... I'm so happy you are enjoying the journey. Thank you so much for taking the time to let me know with such a lovely comment.
Cool "books." How do you keep the texture paste from flaking off the book?
I don't usually do anything special... a properly prepared surface before applying it, I guess, is the main thing - either gessoed or painted before applying the crackle. I may have put a coat of matte medium over the top, I don't remember. It probably says in the blogpost if I did (link in the description). Thanks for watching and commenting.
Hmmm…..let me help you out. IMHO, that is an autumnal sunset, not sunrise, on the Autumn journal. 🍂
Having been born on the first day of Autumn my opinion counts. 😉 😜 JK
Seriously, I am crazy about that autumn journal. 🤩 it’s a stunner!
And on a mission to find those raven dies. 🙂
Cheers! 🇺🇸 🇨🇿
I'm happy to take guidance from an Autumn child... sunset it is! I've repeated that autumnal meadow a number of times, including in a journal spread or two, as I'm also pretty crazy about the look of it...
Wishing you luck with the raven search... it was a seasonal Thinlits set, so no longer produced - but you might strike it lucky on Ebay or at the back of somebody's online stockroom! It's called Feather & Ravens, with a Sizzix product number of 662376. Fingers crossed for you. And thank you, as always, for your lovely comment!
@@w0rdsandp1ctures thank you so much for the name and product number for the set! I am off to eBay now!! 😀
When is Books, Books, Books….not really Books, Books, Books…. stay tuned 🤍🤍🤍
😉😄
