Berries is like Boston slang for “tesciles/balls” so by the time he said dail “1-800-FRUIT” (slang for gay) he started to lose it - but even just the word berries that’s what was making him laugh
It is absolutely free time stuff. That is why he only has video when he has a guest which is a lot different but rare; also why he's watching the game relaying score updates etc. as he does his pod. A lot of stand ups do pods while it helps a lot with bills, mostly to grow their audience so they can sell more tickets when they do the road and to people who already know what they're about. Bill Burr is big enough to sell out with no advertising anywhere he goes, any time and doesn't need that. Which makes his pod one of the most authentic. I generally can't stand solo podcasts but Bill's is a blast.

Too bad they didn't include the Draft Kings ad where he trashes them, it's another good one. For the Shari's Berries ad, those of us in the older generations around Bill's age will remember that at one time "fruit" was used to describe someone based on their sexual orientation, they're a fruit or fruity. Combine that with him not getting the concept of chocolate dipped berries to begin with, that's why he lost it when reading the phone number.

A lot of those sites offer a deal to hundreds of media people and give them a code to use that monitor how much business they get from said person, so they aren't getting prepaid. The TH-cam channel "Fact Feind" has segments called "How not to do business" where they explain how a lot of these ads work and what they expect from TH-camrs, etc
I would let him read the ads in whatever ways he chose to do it. Funny is always good and unforgettable!

Advertising is all about name recognition and getting people to remember your brand.
That's why, for quite a while, people would say "there's no such thing as bad publicity".
I'd bet dollars to berries that a lot of people that listened to Bill Burrs ads still remember those brands to this day, while tons of other ads read by other podcasters just get blended out by people because they're boring, safe and forgettable.

He's always said he doesn't do the Podcast for money. He was one of the first comedian to have a podcast, way before Joe Rogan. It has always been about exposure for his comedy.

Im an Uber Eats and Doordash driver and i also used to give rides on Uber and the first night I gave rides on Uber I had a guy try and touch me(in an inappropriate way let’s just say)and I’m a guy so this dude was being extra bold 😂 but the thing about giving Uber rides is you don’t know how many people are actually going to show up in your vehicle when you accept a ride request. So I had a car full of drunk college students including Mr. touchy-feely who suffice it to say I put in his place(I’m not gonna share my method of how i did because legal reasons) after he tried pulling that, but I only had a couple of other times, where I wasn’t really comfortable giving rides because you’re literally inviting a random stranger into your vehicle, it can be pretty risky and unless you’re exercising your second amendment right it’s not really worth the money so now I just stick to doing Uber eats and DoorDash.
What Flips My Trigger are the BS TH-cam ads for those Puzzle Games... They've been showing us the same "Gameplay" screens for Months. AND NOW to "Prove they are Legit" they have actors poorly pretending to plays the games, but the Footage of their "Game" is the same stock footage we've been seeing for Months!
Why would ANYONE think the Games are "Legit" when the ads are so poorly Faked?
