It is important when foiling to keep everything dust free so use a brush or swifter cloth to dust both the foil back and the piece being foiled. You don’t have to use only Minc products with your Minc but you do have to use the correct foils. It needs to be a foil that works with toner not the ones for heat. Nancy Stamps has lots of videos on foiling on her u-tube channel.

(I'm thinking back to Christmas-past when I reused the parchment paper to make sugar cookies. It didn't m a t t e r in baking the cookies but, with foiling, it apparently does.) I'm betting the actual "CARRIER SHEETS" sold for the purpose of laminating is either (1) DESIGNED for reuse, OR (2) the manufacturer doesn't care as long as he gets his $. I'm only NOW looking into foiling, but, so I can't be of much help, BUT if the parchment paper is cheaper than the carrier sheets being sold for the purpose, just cut multiples of the parchment paper and have at it. On the chance that HEAT is causing the wrinkles, another suggestion would be to drop the temperature and make two or more passes through the machine. That may not be possible with the RS machine -- NO settings changeable?? But for others having this issue with other machines ... m a y b e give that a try??

It was only after running it through over a dozen times that ANY foil stuck ANYWHERE. It looked like a really poor glitter job as tiny fragments of foil stuck randomly on the cardstock, mostly on the white space around the sentiments that I was trying to foil. I wasted more time trying to foil with various combinations of doublesided tape, glue, etc. and mashing foil onto it, all with the same result: nothing stuck. Sure, the plastic of the foil stuck to the tape, but absolutely no foil stuck when I peeled the sheet off. All in all, I blew through about half of my entire foil stash. I am fully aware that heat transfer foil is different from other foils and I was careful to use the proper foil for each attempt... until about 7 hours had elapsed. At that point I figured that I had nothing to lose by trying all possible combinations of foil, laserprinted text and images, carrier sheet or none, all the brands of doublesided tape and various glues. Like any good scientist, after eliminating all possible variables by trying all possible combinations, I was forced to conclude that there is something else that other people are doing in their videos that apparently I am not doing.
