It is important when foiling to keep everything dust free so use a brush or swifter cloth to dust both the foil back and the piece being foiled. You don’t have to use only Minc products with your Minc but you do have to use the correct foils. It needs to be a foil that works with toner not the ones for heat. Nancy Stamps has lots of videos on foiling on her u-tube channel.

Hi Cindy Lyn, I watched this when It first came out but watched from blog to phone and I was unable to comment. I have a black and white only laser printer, It is more cost effective for me than an ink jet printer (ask me how I know). The extra bonus is that you can foil with it however, you still need a heating device to make this work. I tried the RS laminator recommended also by Jennifer McGuirre and Gina K. I must have gotten a lemon! It worked for me one time and jammed horribly :-( Will I try again, you bet I will! I DO realize your video is TWO YEARS OLD -- A N D I'm coming to this "late" -- BUT, I'm guessing that the captured moment wherein you were showing us the wrinkles in the parchment paper was AFTER you'd a l r e a d y used that piece of parchment paper once? (I'm thinking back to Christmas-past when I reused the parchment paper to make sugar cookies. It didn't m a t t e r in baking the cookies but, with foiling, it apparently does.) I'm betting the actual "CARRIER SHEETS" sold for the purpose of laminating is either (1) DESIGNED for reuse, OR (2) the manufacturer doesn't care as long as he gets his $. I'm only NOW looking into foiling, but, so I can't be of much help, BUT if the parchment paper is cheaper than the carrier sheets being sold for the purpose, just cut multiples of the parchment paper and have at it. On the chance that HEAT is causing the wrinkles, another suggestion would be to drop the temperature and make two or more passes through the machine. That may not be possible with the RS machine -- NO settings changeable?? But for others having this issue with other machines ... m a y b e give that a try??

After wasting over 8 hours in vain attempts to get ANY foiling method (that didn't involve a dedicated machine) to work, I have concluded that foiling works only for other people, not for me.
I have two different laser printers and two different laminators. I ran 80lb cardstock through the printers, put the foil onto the printed cardstock, put it in the carrier sheet, ran it through, and nothing stuck. I did it again with the same results.
There was absolutely no combination of laserprinted cardstock and foil through either laminator that gave anything like a foiled result. It was only after running it through over a dozen times that ANY foil stuck ANYWHERE. It looked like a really poor glitter job as tiny fragments of foil stuck randomly on the cardstock, mostly on the white space around the sentiments that I was trying to foil.
I wasted more time trying to foil with various combinations of doublesided tape, glue, etc. and mashing foil onto it, all with the same result: nothing stuck. Sure, the plastic of the foil stuck to the tape, but absolutely no foil stuck when I peeled the sheet off.
All in all, I blew through about half of my entire foil stash. I am fully aware that heat transfer foil is different from other foils and I was careful to use the proper foil for each attempt... until about 7 hours had elapsed. At that point I figured that I had nothing to lose by trying all possible combinations of foil, laserprinted text and images, carrier sheet or none, all the brands of doublesided tape and various glues. Like any good scientist, after eliminating all possible variables by trying all possible combinations, I was forced to conclude that there is something else that other people are doing in their videos that apparently I am not doing.
As stated above, foiling simply does not work, but after watching dozens of videos on the process, I still can't imagine what other folks are doing that's different from what I did.

Wow 😮😮 I feel your struggle and pain!! I wish I was standing there next to you as I completely understand how utterly frustrating it is to follow someone online, so through everything step by step only to find that it did NOT turn out the same. Now with that being said, often times it's user error as they are not using the same materials yet expecting the same results. But it sounds to me like you were diligent to follow along and pay close attention. However, as I can't be there with you, I would ask, what type of laminators did you use? (You laminators may be the issue?) What brand and type of foils did you have and did you try getting some sheets printed at a copy store? Perhaps there is a 'certain type of toner' that works better than others? It gives one reason to wonder. Perhaps industrial machines have different toner than made for home use machines? I t would be interesting to know as I've always wanted to buy a printer that prints with toner specifically for foiling... I wish I had a simple solution to what appears to have become a complex problem for you. I'm sorry 😥💗💗

Your carrier sheet got wrinkled because you didn't put the fold side in first.
