Batgirl is easily my favorite. She has a bruiser playstyle with self-heal and great utility with hacks. She has great crowd control abilities too so she is able to hold her own when surrounded by a lot of enemies.
out of the four I find that I'm the most skilled with Nightwing. His combat just came naturally to me. Unlike the others. But I don't have a main like all the others. I treat it like a movie and give each of them equal contribution in the story and out on patrols. For ex: I discovered the court with Dick since in the comics the court targeted him to be the next Talon when he was just a little boy. So it just seemed fitting. I allowed Barbara to deal with Freeze. I gave Jason the honor to beating Harley since it was her boyfriend who murdered him. I went after Clayface with Tim.
I played the whole game with red hood and I really enjoyed his voice lines when he was solo, especially with the league of assassins since he has a lot of history with them. As well as Harley Quinn
But red hood is supposed to be the fourth wheel like charecter, being dead and coming back he was treated like an outcast since they weren’t sure they can trust him, and when you play through his story line you see that rift between him and the rest of the bay family.
I used Red Hood a lot as well. I just dont like his design (outside of the suit) and I dont really like his fighting style. It feels like hes just a brawler, he just throws out punches and uses his brute strength to win but that's not how Jason is. Jason is just as much a martial artist as the rest of them. I still enjoy playing as him though.
I like how tanky Batgirl is, and her having extra lives is handy. I also love her place in the story being (minor spoiler) both her father figures have died.

How I wanted it to be. 1. Red Hood- Alpha badass with character growth that could make him the next Batman. 2.Nightwing- Strong athlete with compassion for victims 3.Batgirl- Sexy and kickass with sneaky abilities 4.Robin-Not a little bitch anymore. Well I was wrong on about all of it.
Red Hood is far from slow, partially because how effective he is at heavy enemies, but also because of his range playstyle. And I love how much control he has in the air. But you're right that he is boring in story. I mostly just want to play him on open map rampages and use Nightwing /Bat Girl with my co-op friend during story since they are more interesting in cutscenes. Plus NW and BG are both great support characters.

The right mix can lead to infinite stealth and making it so enemies can’t even attack you.. I love it. The stealth is OP in this game. I like brutal combat (only reason BG isn’t my main, but she’s my strong 2nd) just started NG+ on Monday
One thing I learned about Batgirl is that when you're gliding and you hold down the glide instead of diving and trying to glide like Batman, she actually either glides down very slowly or she stays in the sky indefinitely. Her glide isn't as bad as you think it is all you have to do is hold it down for her to stay in the sky.
I’ve been liking the game alot more then others. I lean towards batgirl the most since I feel like she was the most flexible and cld do it all. I really enjoyed robin for stealth and red hood as a tank that deals a heap of damage. both of them are good at what they’re made for. Just night wing is the only one who hasnt quite clicked. He only one that truly feels sluggish and slow to play
Having played red hood for what has basically been my entire play through i feel like some of the story interactions he has with some of the villains are the best. They bring up his past and his evolution of becoming the hero he is. The reason I feel like someone might say he doesn’t have much character growth is because he already went through the huge part of his story and now he is trying to live up the be the hero bruce wanted him to be. He mentions how easy it would be to just put down some of the bad guys he comes across but he doesn’t follow through with it because he isn’t that guy anymore. With his combat I personally have a lot of fun with him, being able to quickly shoot enemies in between combos to stop them from hitting you or shooting you is so much fun for me. When i played nightwing i had a lot of fun with the combat but some of the story beats he has bother me. I feel like its weird how uncomfortable he is in the leader role. I dont think ive gotten far enough with him to see him fit into that leader role so i just gotta keep playing to see. I have not touched robin or batgirl lol eventually i will tho.
Red Hood is my personal favorite. I play the heavy characters in pretty much every game. Overwatch? Roadhog. Injustice 2? Bane, Scarecrow, and Darkseid. Gotham Knights? Red Hood.
Me too bro and personally I think he did have plenty of character growth in the story but maybe that’s bc I’ve been playing with him the whole time. His ptsd due to the pit dealing with talia plus Harley it mixes well
I think if robins grapple was replaced with teleportation instead that may have worked better, idk. Anything that doesn’t involve manualy teleporting constantly to get from point a to b. (Sorry if this is confusing)
I've been wondering this because playing as nightwing it almost feels like he was supposed to be the main character and was curious if the others had that same feeling.

Red hood has incredible crowd control with his ability to shoot in any direction and stick bombs to people whenever he pleases. Can't wait to spend more time with the other characters
The literal best crowd control when you have the perk that makes attacks not interrupt grabs and the mines split off into proximity mines, any speedy or tanky characters overwhelming me don’t stand an actual chance.
Yeah when I heard him say that he struggles in large groups of enemies with red hood I'm like "hmmm" cuz he got a bunch of crowd control capabilities along with NW with his spinning move.
Been maining batgirl, focused on justice and oracle trees. Her middle tree just makes the game super easy. I find her tanky enough, so I just ignored the middle tree other than Extra health and heavy attack armor. I recommend focusing on crit chance and damage, I find myself doing finishers without hitting the enemy. I typically 1-3 shot regular enemies. Makes the game much more satisfying.
Wish they did 5 characters with Damian Wayne being robin and Tim being his Red Robin persona. Tim using a lot of tech makes sense but Damian would make a lot more sense for stealth with him actually growing up with the league
I mained batgirl but recently switched to robin and he is so much better then her tbh. The main thing I love about robin is his elemental combo is only 2 lights and then a heavy which is way easier to pull off then trying to get 3 lights and a heavy. I know that seems small but trust me it's a big difference in this game. If you wanna play batgirl i recommend just going for crit hit and crit dmg melee instead of elemental build up. It is rare you can get that 3 light 1 heavy combo without getting interrupted or sacrificing getting hit. But if you are gonna do elemental build up with batgirl go for concussive elemental so you can grab strike for health (if you have the perk) plus you can get a ability perk where you get an extra 20% build up for the concussive.
Red hood as last?? You're mad! He is a beast, he can litteraly one shot enemies with a good build and he can erase a full crowd of enemies with his sticky bombs

Robins #1 for me, his character I liked the most, he is the just fun to watch and I love the Bo staff. His traversal is last tho but he makes up for it with the best transmogs
It's funny he says Red Hood seems less important. After playing through the story, Red Hood seems the most involved and makes the most sense for the story considering the final villain. His lines with the team makes him seem like the fourth wheel only because after what he went through, its harder for him to be a team player. However the story itself, I thought they put more attention on him than anyone else. Nightwing was actually my least favorite. Even though he was groomed to be the next Batman, he felt like the least important character to me. I feel like they could've done better with his combat as well. Its Red Hood, Batgirl, Robin, then Nightwing for me.
Red Hood makes the most sense to be at the end with resurrected Bruce, he knew what Bruce was going through and it was Jason’s turn to help Bruce unlike the first time.

@@lunarm4 I’m genuinely curious how the first Robin and the only one Bruce has an EZ time calling his son has the least importance to you? Who left his own city to atone for the trouble between he and Bruce before his own father died so he never got closure. The one Bruce looks up to and stated made him a better hero and man out of all the Knights? Red hood makes sense towards the end helping with the Lazarus control but he does feel like a black sheep everywhere else in the story. Nightwing > Red hood > Robin > Batgirl is how anyone who pays attention list the importance with I guess, I’ll admit, Red hood and Nightwing’s spots being pretty interchangeable. Red hood’s ending got something outta me like Nightwing’s pretty much. Batgirl relates more to her own side story with Jim’s death which has no actual connection to the main story like they’ve shown as she was sad he was dead on a mentor’s level, then Robin who likely only got 2 years with Bruce if they’re adapting the comics, he becomes Robin the eldest age with usually it being Grayson 8-13 > Damian 10 > Jason 11-12 > Tim 13 It’s probably the fact he’s been doing it the longest and has been everywhere so alotta the mess in this game doesn’t scare him like the rest because he definitely seen worse with his young years as Robin and Teen titans then Blüdhaven solo career like they reference a ton.
I saw nightwing number one. Since he is able to build momentum and use that to self heal. Robin second cuz thru out the game his stealth is so clutch especially on the brutes also his elemental damage. Red hood ability to grab anyone almost at any time and plate the bomb in them is a cheat code. And if u have elemental damage for that it’s OP Batgirl is cool I used her the least cuz idk she isn’t bad tho just isn’t my play style ig
Red hood’s character is pretty much I’m angry because I died. It does not develop beyond that. Every cut scene is him being angry, and the other character dancing around talking about him dying.
Honestly as someone who mained red hood first i agree he just seems so 4th wheely and they could’ve literally put someone else in his place just overall it just feels off with the scenes in the belfry lol all the scenes are is i died and came back to life boohoo
I don’t think that most people realize that Robin’s traversal mechanic is mainly meant for stealth… enabling you to get behind anyone or disappear at any time
@@vurshawn1358 agreed. Just to the devs, traversal came second to stealth in the case of Robin. I wonder if they could have done something that would satisfy both needs.
My ranking for my play style. 1. Robin: his speed, stealth, & crowd control with the staff. 2. Batgirl & Nightwing: she’s a close second with Nightwing, but her beat down skill kinda edges out NW. 4. Redhood: too slow for me and my play style, though his finishers are awesome.
@@AttorneyGamer cool. I haven’t played him much yet because i found him slow for my play style. However since there is so much character specific dialog I was planning on playing through the main story and villain missions with each character, so I’ll eventually get better with him too.
@@bruhh7914 agreed. I am level 19 and hadn’t even visited Penguin yet. But I did a few parts of the Mr. Freeze villain mission and I set robin up with ice protection and fire weapons and the first Freeze boss battle was a cake walk.
my main is nightwing i love his flashy combos watching him jump and do all crazy stuff plus who doesnt love that one ult where hes just breakdancing and his sticks are just spinning
Nightwing No1. Great combat-flow, great skills for single and aoe dps and his two self-heals are very handy for soloing bosses. Add to that the best traversal. Also think you underestimate Red Hood. His AOEs and Grab are so insane he takes out crimes in no time. Jason takes out the trash.
Agreed his grabbing is op but just feels to me they gave him less a role than the others seems like there should been more to the character in my opinion definitely dialogue is limited
He does waaaaaaaay to much damage with that grab and mine placement lol. Even his momentum ability where he shoots repeatedly takes out 4-5 enemies at once. I play in medium difficulty but with him I may amp it up to hard. His clear speed is insane!
1 thing I'll argue with Robin's traversal ability making it one of my favourites.....is the ability to stealth attack from it! Then you can re-enter it and stealth kill again!
Batgirls glide can actually be maintained indefinitely if you get to a high enough altitude and only use the left joystick up for slight descent speed then pull down on the the left joystick to arc upwards and catch the air to gain altitude again. Kind of like playing a flight simulator I found that the B button press for the fast dive bomb was only really useful for coming down for a quick landing or dropping in on a crowd of enemies.
For me it's: Robin Batgirl Red Hood Nightwing I've only played solo so far, so Nightwing's skill trees aren't totally relevant. I've also just always gravitated more towards stealth gameplay, so Robin was kind of a natural character choice for me.
Nightwing is amazing at solo-ing though, he got a ton of Solo DPS and AOE skills to use and he’s the quickest especially with his speed boost momentum ability.
Depends on what you use them for. In my opinion I figure Nightwing is best for bosses/evasive, Robin best for stealth/quick takedowns, Batgirl best healing/all rounded fighter, Redhood best range/tank hitters.
honestly i like robin more because he can do stealth pretty easily when im just grinding for loot i use nightwing but I still use robin because his microbots is useful in combat when your focusing on knocking them out one by one when you get caught but it is okay because his fighting style is decent but there is an momentum gain when you silent knock someone out or the ability to interupt peoples attack that is why i chose robin and i like his teleportation i like that he is smart and his reacton when he sees something cool that he always wanted to touch a gadget that he could work on
My list is the same but nightwing is 1st then 2nd batgirl. I like nightwing because I can use his abilities more often and he flows well, plus the glider is nice to travel. Batgirl's gliding feels slow after jumping from grapple points but maybe I'm not used to it
I think you probably missed some red hood scenes because his character has his best moments with talia and the league, I think they wrote the characters to their strengths and based off their history, you can even tell at least imo certain conversations with talia were meant for Jason, like her revealing she brought him back, and the last fight with Bruce makes a lot of sense with Jason, considering he was brought back himself, I think if you didn’t play Jason a lot during the actual story he will seem like an outsider because you didn’t see his development of slowly trusting the team more, and considering he fought the bat family at one point the situation makes sense imo
My list 1. Red Hood 2. Robin 3. Batgiri 4. Nightwing Red Hood fighting style is straighforward and brutal. Much like a beefed up John Wick. The animation and sound effect when he pound his enemies is just so satisfying. And when you unlock elemental ranged weapons, you can quickly erase enemies like they're nothing. Robin is a trickster and very true to his character in the comics. Uses flair, deception and tech to defeat enemies. His bo staff animation is second to none. Batgirl is strong, fast and reminiscent of Batman. Doesn't hurt that she's a nice eye candy. Nightwing is the least natural for me, maybe I haven't logged in enough hours playing him, his fighting style is superfluous with all the flips and somersaults. It feels forever for him to lay down hits between enemies. But I love them all the same, especially playing with my brother.
The first time I played through the story of this game I played as all of the characters and unlocked all of their travel abilities but the second time I played the story I mostly played as Nightwing because Nightwing has the best way of traveling around GC with the character’s Jetpack glider. You could travel around the whole city without ever having to touch the ground however in theory Batgirl does have the best momentum abilities because the character can summon a drone to fight with the character while the character gets some health back 👍
So what is interesting to me is early on, Nightwing is what was my 2nd and Robin as my 3rd. However as I progressed I began to like Robin more. For me Red Hood and Batgirl are in the same spots
I searched it up and it says robin is the best character to play as because he can teleport he can do a long range takedown with the teleport and he can cloak and also has special abilities
I personally think Robin is really fun, I love the whole teleporting into an ambush takedown, his Bo can hit people nearby, his decoy explosions and elemental slingshots explosions are really cool when you get chain reactions hitting every enemy
My order: (1) Nightwing, (2) robin, (3) batgirl, and (4) red hood. Maybe it’s nostalgia for me but Nightwing is the most fun to use and I love his glider.
Fundamentally disagree with the red hood character analysis. Gameplay I agree with the speed, and at the end of the day, it's a personal preference, but in terms of story arc, he fits the ending better than all of the knights. It almost felt like it was made for him and him alone. While he's not as violent or a loose cannon compared to previous iterations, that part of his character has been done near to death by everyone else; it's ok to get a more subdued Jason here
I 100% agree, after playing as both nightwing and red hood, it just seems like Jason makes the most sense for this story considering who’s involved, especially the climax feels like it was made for him
The Gotham Knights fighting crime directly out in the open in front of many civilians. The civilians when witnessing dangerous activity right in front of them to where they can easily get caught up in it: *"Man I can't wait to try out that new ice cream flavor at the ice cream store!"* I personally never follow anyone's tier list of any kind, but I do respect their decisions behind their choices at least. Robin is my most favorite unit to play as so far. I haven't played the others yet at the time of this comment.
this game has done a great job and giving something for everybody. for example, my favorite is knightwing (ive played them all roughly the same) bit someone else's favorite could be the one that suits their style
I personally like nightwing the most. His suits are badass and his fighting is the most fluid in my opinion. Then Robin and batgirl and red hood last. And it pains me to say that because red hood is easily one of my favorites in the bat family and I was really looking forward to playing as him. But I’m gonna be completely honest he’s way too big. Yeah I know he grows and all that after the Lazarus but damn dude is bulk asf. I wish they did him better.
Yah no 1. Batgirl because self substain and one shot potential with beatdown 2. Robin because stealth and strong elemental damage 3. Red Hood because ranged playstyle makes up for lack of mobility not to mention really really strong ult 4. Nightwing he has really good mobbing but he has no 1v1 potential outside of crowd control spam This list is purely based on the characters' potential with their kits plus consistent game elements, the gameplay is mostly similar to that of past Arkham games but with some rpg mechanics so mobbing while faster with abilities is not a necessity to prioritize as you can just as easily beat mobs with pure button mashing Edit: the same can be said for bosses I'm aware
Honestly, for me Red Hood is the best character then batgirl then robin and nightwing last. I’ve enjoyed playing with Red Hood and have been using him throughout the entire story and his story is interesting and seeing the struggle he has with the Lazarus and feeling left out from the group. There’s something about him which you feel his pain and you understand him for it. You just gotta play the entire story with him and see his character growth, he’s lines are also more Batman-esque in how he says things and reacts to things.
THIS like if u play red hood then u see his story and his interactions in the story are so much deeper since he is connected to the pit and struggling with his ressurection
If you take time to master his technique and not just button mash, you can pull off Miles Morales level flashiness between his regular melee, and both mid-fight and closing finishers.
If Red Hood light ranged combos automatically targeted an enemy from wherever you're facing I'd have more fun playing with him. In these types of games i like the smoothness of melee fighting and bouncing from one enemy to another. The ranged attacks in this game just doesnt flow as well as the melee fighting. WHich is why i love nightwing in this game i guess lol.
With Robin teleport for combat, its hax because the only requirement to use slideways is to be in the air at about the height of your character. Say you are fighting an enemy and use the batgrapple as soon as you get a little off the ground press O or B depending on the console to detach prematurely keeping momentum an instantly use slideways. If the enemy has guns they’ll be shooting at nothing an you can redo a stealth or assault takedown w no cost. Picking off the herd through teleports. + Brutes Stealth yessirr
Out of all four, I adore Batgirl, I’ve played a lot of the game as Batgirl but changed up to Red Hood for some as well. I tended to do “patrols” as the other characters to get a feel for them and have Batgirl as my main. Nightwing I think is my least favourite.
The most fun for me is Red Hood. I love his ranged attacks because they’re the best in the game, and I like being able to alternate between melee and ranged and it feels like Red Hood is the best for that. Personally to me batgirl is the most boring. Like Red Hood, Robin, and Nightwing all have the parts of them that make them unique. Batgirl to me is just female Batman, and her gameplay, while it can be fun, is mostly stuff that Batman would do, and I’m trying to do other things. I honestly miss Barbara as Oracle

batgirl is easy mode. She can ignore all the technology stuff like cameras and laser barriers, she has self heal and 2 extra life and her x tap maneuver is just broken against bosses. Her movement is similar to batman's from the Arkham games, therefore easy to master and her suits just look badass
As someone who played red hood i agree with putting him 4th i get why he seems slower combat wise also doesnt help that he died and basically got Lazarus pitted that probably changed him quite a lot definitely feels like a 4th wheel character to me hes a welcome addition to the game and all but just feels like something’s missing there
I was expecting going in to be Batgirl>Nightwing>Robin>Red Hood, but so far I think I am Robin>Batgirl>Nightwing>Red Hood (though I haven't tried Red Hood yet, still trying Robin out). This might change once I have played Red Hood, though for me I don't see him coming out of the fourth spot, but Batgirl might reclaim the top spot, her hacking and ability to take out guns and electronics is really cool.

redhood imo isnt the 4th wheel i just think they did a good job showing his/their awkwardness because he is kinda like a zombie and any mention of it to the other knights seems to make them walk on eggshells where hood is kinda okay with it along w the fact that throughout his story hes struggling w the after effects of the lazarous pit its probably hard to be all social when you used to kill people and now are trying to reform and fight that urge again just an opinion
i played this game 10 hours when am writing this comment, combat is very dynamic and i love it, am playing with batgirl because she has batman playstyle and i like it second is obviously redhood (just my comic fantasion to play him) i didnt really used robin or nightwing more than 10 minutes but i need to change it. As someone who started out with red hood honestly he was just too sluggish for me of fourse with the way hes built it will be that way dont get me wrong hes the best ranged character in the game but it just got boring to me to just shoot over and over lol its all personal preference at the end of the day 🙂 all characters are viable regardless

I play the best with Nightwing his combos just feel natural to me. My second favorite is Red Hood. Batwoman is not bad by any means I just prefer the other two over her, and maybe I’m tripping idk but Robin whew they could’ve did him so much better he’s a lost cost imo
Objectively, Batgirl is the best mechanically. There is literally no part of the game that her kit does not have benefits towards. She has hacking for stealth and combat, targeting abilities for bosses, AoE abilities for crowd control, cracked damage, and absurd defense. Also, she heals with her ult, grab strikes, and takedowns, and when she uses a health kit, and can revive herself. I think it's a little messed up she's the only character who is literally good at everything, when the other three all have very clear niches. Her story, however, is the worst. It is literally "I am better than everyone, and need to keep being better than everyone". She kinda treats the other Knights like shit, and is REALLY pushy. Her traversal is fine. It's not as great gliding as the Arkham games, and I don't need it to be, but I've been getting around Gotham with a goddamn grapnel and a cape for four fucking games now. I'm fucking bored of gliding. Her playstyle is just boring to me because she's mechanically the same character I've played for four games. Robin is insane if you know how to build him. His combat is largely focused around elemental buildup, and his stealth is stupid good. He's got traps that are fantastic, his momentum abilities (except the cloak) are ridiculous, and he doesn't have the best damage but has really good AoE. His story, in my opinion, is the second best. He struggles with coming to terms with Bruce's death, the fact that he's the third Robin and not as "good" as either of them were, and trying to figure out his own way of doing things, especially when he has people who won't really teach him the way that he needs. I like his traversal, but I definitely understand the "breaking of flow", for sure, and I do wish there was maybe a skill for a longer window. I don't think they should adjust the scroll speed of it, because his positioning for the takedown from it is very finicky, so I usually need those 7 seconds just to line the thing up, and making it faster would only make that worse. Nightwing is great for support and regular melee brawls. He has the fastest momentum generation, so you can spam his abilities, and most of them are AoEs. He has basic traps for stealth and he's great at evasion, so good luck getting hit when you do get spotted. His story is hit or miss. It could be better than Robin's, but I feel like there's not as much there emotionally as Robin. It's weird, because it's all about him trying to be and learning to be a better leader, but the dude has led the Titans in the universe, so, how did it take him like a decade of being a leader to learn how to be a better one? He is genuinely funny though, in like a "you... asshole" type of way. Plus he's the "big brother" of the group, and his history with all the various villains being the longest makes things interesting. His traversal is okay, but side-to-side and pinpoint movement with it is rough because the thing handles like a damned airship. His is the most "flow-breaking", largely because every time I expect him to backflip off of it and have a little control over where I land, not just zoom towards the ground. Grappling around and parkour with him is super fun though, because he's the only one who does flips and twirls. Red Hood is awful at stealth, but absurd when it comes to open combat, primarily because his melee sets up his ranged. Use melee when people get close to you, knock them around, then throw them away and blow them up. Build him for elemental, punch a dude a few times and throw him and shoot the mine, and everyone is constantly stun-locked or on fire as you pour rounds into them. Build him without elements and for crit, and he has some of the highest damage in the game and you can be hitting crits almost every shot (sometimes even a crit with 5 times damage). In my opinion, his story is the best. He's very personally involved with Talia, you feel every bit of anger he has when a certain plot element gets involved later on, and he's struggling with self-control, especially with these new mystical abilities that let Ra's do some of the terrible things he did. He's the most "adult" of the four. I enjoy his traversal the most, because it's the easiest to blend with parkour and grappling. It's basically just an "air step". However, I will openly admit I am a Jason Todd fanboy (I literally have the Red Hood symbol tattooed on me and own every comic where he has an appearance, even Pre-Crisis), so my evaluation could be pretty biased for him.
Batgirl is easily my favorite. She has a bruiser playstyle with self-heal and great utility with hacks. She has great crowd control abilities too so she is able to hold her own when surrounded by a lot of enemies.

out of the four I find that I'm the most skilled with Nightwing. His combat just came naturally to me. Unlike the others. But I don't have a main like all the others. I treat it like a movie and give each of them equal contribution in the story and out on patrols. For ex: I discovered the court with Dick since in the comics the court targeted him to be the next Talon when he was just a little boy. So it just seemed fitting. I allowed Barbara to deal with Freeze. I gave Jason the honor to beating Harley since it was her boyfriend who murdered him. I went after Clayface with Tim.

I played the whole game with red hood and I really enjoyed his voice lines when he was solo, especially with the league of assassins since he has a lot of history with them. As well as Harley Quinn
But red hood is supposed to be the fourth wheel like charecter, being dead and coming back he was treated like an outcast since they weren’t sure they can trust him, and when you play through his story line you see that rift between him and the rest of the bay family.

I used Red Hood a lot as well. I just dont like his design (outside of the suit) and I dont really like his fighting style. It feels like hes just a brawler, he just throws out punches and uses his brute strength to win but that's not how Jason is. Jason is just as much a martial artist as the rest of them. I still enjoy playing as him though.
I like how tanky Batgirl is, and her having extra lives is handy. I also love her place in the story being (minor spoiler) both her father figures have died.

How I wanted it to be.
1. Red Hood- Alpha badass with character growth that could make him the next Batman.
2.Nightwing- Strong athlete with compassion for victims

4.Robin-Not a little bitch anymore.
Well I was wrong on about all of it.
Red Hood is far from slow, partially because how effective he is at heavy enemies, but also because of his range playstyle. And I love how much control he has in the air. But you're right that he is boring in story. I mostly just want to play him on open map rampages and use Nightwing /Bat Girl with my co-op friend during story since they are more interesting in cutscenes. Plus NW and BG are both great support characters.
One thing about Robin is that you can do takedowns from the teleport. It's really cheap in the open world lol.
You can do the same thing with nightwings glider but it’s harder to control

The right mix can lead to infinite stealth and making it so enemies can’t even attack you.. I love it. The stealth is OP in this game. I like brutal combat (only reason BG isn’t my main, but she’s my strong 2nd) just started NG+ on Monday
One thing I learned about Batgirl is that when you're gliding and you hold down the glide instead of diving and trying to glide like Batman, she actually either glides down very slowly or she stays in the sky indefinitely. Her glide isn't as bad as you think it is all you have to do is hold it down for her to stay in the sky.
I’ve been liking the game alot more then others. I lean towards batgirl the most since I feel like she was the most flexible and cld do it all. I really enjoyed robin for stealth and red hood as a tank that deals a heap of damage. both of them are good at what they’re made for. Just night wing is the only one who hasnt quite clicked. He only one that truly feels sluggish and slow to play

Having played red hood for what has basically been my entire play through i feel like some of the story interactions he has with some of the villains are the best. They bring up his past and his evolution of becoming the hero he is. The reason I feel like someone might say he doesn’t have much character growth is because he already went through the huge part of his story and now he is trying to live up the be the hero bruce wanted him to be. He mentions how easy it would be to just put down some of the bad guys he comes across but he doesn’t follow through with it because he isn’t that guy anymore. With his combat I personally have a lot of fun with him, being able to quickly shoot enemies in between combos to stop them from hitting you or shooting you is so much fun for me. When i played nightwing i had a lot of fun with the combat but some of the story beats he has bother me. I feel like its weird how uncomfortable he is in the leader role. I dont think ive gotten far enough with him to see him fit into that leader role so i just gotta keep playing to see. I have not touched robin or batgirl lol eventually i will tho.

Red Hood is my personal favorite. I play the heavy characters in pretty much every game. Overwatch? Roadhog. Injustice 2? Bane, Scarecrow, and Darkseid. Gotham Knights? Red Hood.

The literal best crowd control when you have the perk that makes attacks not interrupt grabs and the mines split off into proximity mines, any speedy or tanky characters overwhelming me don’t stand an actual chance.
Yeah when I heard him say that he struggles in large groups of enemies with red hood I'm like "hmmm" cuz he got a bunch of crowd control capabilities along with NW with his spinning move.
Been maining batgirl, focused on justice and oracle trees. Her middle tree just makes the game super easy. I find her tanky enough, so I just ignored the middle tree other than Extra health and heavy attack armor. I recommend focusing on crit chance and damage, I find myself doing finishers without hitting the enemy. I typically 1-3 shot regular enemies. Makes the game much more satisfying.
Wish they did 5 characters with Damian Wayne being robin and Tim being his Red Robin persona. Tim using a lot of tech makes sense but Damian would make a lot more sense for stealth with him actually growing up with the league

I mained batgirl but recently switched to robin and he is so much better then her tbh. The main thing I love about robin is his elemental combo is only 2 lights and then a heavy which is way easier to pull off then trying to get 3 lights and a heavy. I know that seems small but trust me it's a big difference in this game. If you wanna play batgirl i recommend just going for crit hit and crit dmg melee instead of elemental build up. It is rare you can get that 3 light 1 heavy combo without getting interrupted or sacrificing getting hit. But if you are gonna do elemental build up with batgirl go for concussive elemental so you can grab strike for health (if you have the perk) plus you can get a ability perk where you get an extra 20% build up for the concussive.
For me Robin is the best. I started as knightwing. Tried Robin and never went back

It's funny he says Red Hood seems less important. After playing through the story, Red Hood seems the most involved and makes the most sense for the story considering the final villain. His lines with the team makes him seem like the fourth wheel only because after what he went through, its harder for him to be a team player. However the story itself, I thought they put more attention on him than anyone else. Nightwing was actually my least favorite. Even though he was groomed to be the next Batman, he felt like the least important character to me. I feel like they could've done better with his combat as well. Its Red Hood, Batgirl, Robin, then Nightwing for me.
Red Hood makes the most sense to be at the end with resurrected Bruce, he knew what Bruce was going through and it was Jason’s turn to help Bruce unlike the first time.

Who left his own city to atone for the trouble between he and Bruce before his own father died so he never got closure. The one Bruce looks up to and stated made him a better hero and man out of all the Knights? Red hood makes sense towards the end helping with the Lazarus control but he does feel like a black sheep everywhere else in the story. Nightwing > Red hood > Robin > Batgirl is how anyone who pays attention list the importance with I guess, I’ll admit, Red hood and Nightwing’s spots being pretty interchangeable. Red hood’s ending got something outta me like Nightwing’s pretty much. Batgirl relates more to her own side story with Jim’s death which has no actual connection to the main story like they’ve shown as she was sad he was dead on a mentor’s level, then Robin who likely only got 2 years with Bruce if they’re adapting the comics, he becomes Robin the eldest age with usually it being Grayson 8-13 > Damian 10 > Jason 11-12 > Tim 13

My ranking for my play style. 1. Robin: his speed, stealth, & crowd control with the staff. 2. Batgirl & Nightwing: she’s a close second with Nightwing, but her beat down skill kinda edges out NW. 4. Redhood: too slow for me and my play style, though his finishers are awesome.
I've found I take out enemies fastest with red hood, he can one shot common enemies with his gun at range. Nothing is faster.

Nightwing No1. Great combat-flow, great skills for single and aoe dps and his two self-heals are very handy for soloing bosses. Add to that the best traversal.
Also think you underestimate Red Hood. His AOEs and Grab are so insane he takes out crimes in no time. Jason takes out the trash.
Agreed his grabbing is op but just feels to me they gave him less a role than the others seems like there should been more to the character in my opinion definitely dialogue is limited
He does waaaaaaaay to much damage with that grab and mine placement lol. Even his momentum ability where he shoots repeatedly takes out 4-5 enemies at once. I play in medium difficulty but with him I may amp it up to hard. His clear speed is insane!
1 thing I'll argue with Robin's traversal ability making it one of my favourites.....is the ability to stealth attack from it! Then you can re-enter it and stealth kill again!
Batgirls glide can actually be maintained indefinitely if you get to a high enough altitude and only use the left joystick up for slight descent speed then pull down on the the left joystick to arc upwards and catch the air to gain altitude again.
Kind of like playing a flight simulator
I found that the B button press for the fast dive bomb was only really useful for coming down for a quick landing or dropping in on a crowd of enemies.

I've only played solo so far, so Nightwing's skill trees aren't totally relevant. I've also just always gravitated more towards stealth gameplay, so Robin was kind of a natural character choice for me.
Nightwing is amazing at solo-ing though, he got a ton of Solo DPS and AOE skills to use and he’s the quickest especially with his speed boost momentum ability.
Depends on what you use them for. In my opinion I figure Nightwing is best for bosses/evasive, Robin best for stealth/quick takedowns, Batgirl best healing/all rounded fighter, Redhood best range/tank hitters.
Nightwings glider is the best traversal tool. You can gain elevation, and it doesn't take you out of the game like robins

honestly i like robin more because he can do stealth pretty easily when im just grinding for loot i use nightwing but I still use robin because his microbots is useful in combat when your focusing on knocking them out one by one when you get caught but it is okay because his fighting style is decent but there is an momentum gain when you silent knock someone out or the ability to interupt peoples attack that is why i chose robin and i like his teleportation i like that he is smart and his reacton when he sees something cool that he always wanted to touch a gadget that he could work on

My list is the same but nightwing is 1st then 2nd batgirl. I like nightwing because I can use his abilities more often and he flows well, plus the glider is nice to travel. Batgirl's gliding feels slow after jumping from grapple points but maybe I'm not used to it
It's slower than Batman's was but it's alright. She stays in the air for awhile if you just hold back on the glide.

I think you probably missed some red hood scenes because his character has his best moments with talia and the league, I think they wrote the characters to their strengths and based off their history, you can even tell at least imo certain conversations with talia were meant for Jason, like her revealing she brought him back, and the last fight with Bruce makes a lot of sense with Jason, considering he was brought back himself, I think if you didn’t play Jason a lot during the actual story he will seem like an outsider because you didn’t see his development of slowly trusting the team more, and considering he fought the bat family at one point the situation makes sense imo

Red Hood fighting style is straighforward and brutal. Much like a beefed up John Wick. The animation and sound effect when he pound his enemies is just so satisfying. And when you unlock elemental ranged weapons, you can quickly erase enemies like they're nothing.
Robin is a trickster and very true to his character in the comics. Uses flair, deception and tech to defeat enemies. His bo staff animation is second to none.
Batgirl is strong, fast and reminiscent of Batman. Doesn't hurt that she's a nice eye candy.
Nightwing is the least natural for me, maybe I haven't logged in enough hours playing him, his fighting style is superfluous with all the flips and somersaults. It feels forever for him to lay down hits between enemies.
But I love them all the same, especially playing with my brother.
The first time I played through the story of this game I played as all of the characters and unlocked all of their travel abilities but the second time I played the story I mostly played as Nightwing because Nightwing has the best way of traveling around GC with the character’s Jetpack glider. You could travel around the whole city without ever having to touch the ground however in theory Batgirl does have the best momentum abilities because the character can summon a drone to fight with the character while the character gets some health back 👍
When people say robin is weak but then see his mid/end game momentum abilitys are so busted.
So what is interesting to me is early on, Nightwing is what was my 2nd and Robin as my 3rd. However as I progressed I began to like Robin more. For me Red Hood and Batgirl are in the same spots

I personally think Robin is really fun, I love the whole teleporting into an ambush takedown, his Bo can hit people nearby, his decoy explosions and elemental slingshots explosions are really cool when you get chain reactions hitting every enemy

My order: (1) Nightwing, (2) robin, (3) batgirl, and (4) red hood. Maybe it’s nostalgia for me but Nightwing is the most fun to use and I love his glider.
Fundamentally disagree with the red hood character analysis. Gameplay I agree with the speed, and at the end of the day, it's a personal preference, but in terms of story arc, he fits the ending better than all of the knights. It almost felt like it was made for him and him alone. While he's not as violent or a loose cannon compared to previous iterations, that part of his character has been done near to death by everyone else; it's ok to get a more subdued Jason here
I 100% agree, after playing as both nightwing and red hood, it just seems like Jason makes the most sense for this story considering who’s involved, especially the climax feels like it was made for him

I personally never follow anyone's tier list of any kind, but I do respect their decisions behind their choices at least. Robin is my most favorite unit to play as so far. I haven't played the others yet at the time of this comment.

3. Red Hood because ranged playstyle makes up for lack of mobility not to mention really really strong ult
4. Nightwing he has really good mobbing but he has no 1v1 potential outside of crowd control spam
This list is purely based on the characters' potential with their kits plus consistent game elements, the gameplay is mostly similar to that of past Arkham games but with some rpg mechanics so mobbing while faster with abilities is not a necessity to prioritize as you can just as easily beat mobs with pure button mashing

Honestly, for me Red Hood is the best character then batgirl then robin and nightwing last.
I’ve enjoyed playing with Red Hood and have been using him throughout the entire story and his story is interesting and seeing the struggle he has with the Lazarus and feeling left out from the group. There’s something about him which you feel his pain and you understand him for it. You just gotta play the entire story with him and see his character growth, he’s lines are also more Batman-esque in how he says things and reacts to things.
THIS like if u play red hood then u see his story and his interactions in the story are so much deeper since he is connected to the pit and struggling with his ressurection
I think robins momentum ability’s are the best parts of his kits when fully unlocked they allow for really fast elemental damage and build up
If you take time to master his technique and not just button mash, you can pull off Miles Morales level flashiness between his regular melee, and both mid-fight and closing finishers.

If Red Hood light ranged combos automatically targeted an enemy from wherever you're facing I'd have more fun playing with him. In these types of games i like the smoothness of melee fighting and bouncing from one enemy to another. The ranged attacks in this game just doesnt flow as well as the melee fighting. WHich is why i love nightwing in this game i guess lol.
With Robin teleport for combat, its hax because the only requirement to use slideways is to be in the air at about the height of your character. Say you are fighting an enemy and use the batgrapple as soon as you get a little off the ground press O or B depending on the console to detach prematurely keeping momentum an instantly use slideways. If the enemy has guns they’ll be shooting at nothing an you can redo a stealth or assault takedown w no cost. Picking off the herd through teleports. + Brutes Stealth yessirr

Out of all four, I adore Batgirl, I’ve played a lot of the game as Batgirl but changed up to Red Hood for some as well. I tended to do “patrols” as the other characters to get a feel for them and have Batgirl as my main. Nightwing I think is my least favourite.
The most fun for me is Red Hood. I love his ranged attacks because they’re the best in the game, and I like being able to alternate between melee and ranged and it feels like Red Hood is the best for that.
Personally to me batgirl is the most boring. Like Red Hood, Robin, and Nightwing all have the parts of them that make them unique. Batgirl to me is just female Batman, and her gameplay, while it can be fun, is mostly stuff that Batman would do, and I’m trying to do other things. I honestly miss Barbara as Oracle

batgirl is easy mode. She can ignore all the technology stuff like cameras and laser barriers, she has self heal and 2 extra life and her x tap maneuver is just broken against bosses. Her movement is similar to batman's from the Arkham games, therefore easy to master and her suits just look badass
As someone who played red hood i agree with putting him 4th i get why he seems slower combat wise also doesnt help that he died and basically got Lazarus pitted that probably changed him quite a lot definitely feels like a 4th wheel character to me hes a welcome addition to the game and all but just feels like something’s missing there
I was expecting going in to be Batgirl>Nightwing>Robin>Red Hood, but so far I think I am Robin>Batgirl>Nightwing>Red Hood (though I haven't tried Red Hood yet, still trying Robin out). This might change once I have played Red Hood, though for me I don't see him coming out of the fourth spot, but Batgirl might reclaim the top spot, her hacking and ability to take out guns and electronics is really cool.

Nightwing doesn't have anything building off of stealth... it should be Robin, Batgirl (she can walk through security devices and cameras) , nightwing, red hood

Gotham knights 2 is probably gonna be sick though I think they have a good template just add way more stuff in it pleasee
batgirl just op she breaks the game shes good all around and at lvl 40 you never die and can 1shot the big shield dudes if you have the right build
redhood imo isnt the 4th wheel i just think they did a good job showing his/their awkwardness because he is kinda like a zombie and any mention of it to the other knights seems to make them walk on eggshells where hood is kinda okay with it along w the fact that throughout his story hes struggling w the after effects of the lazarous pit its probably hard to be all social when you used to kill people and now are trying to reform and fight that urge again just an opinion

i played this game 10 hours when am writing this comment, combat is very dynamic and i love it, am playing with batgirl because she has batman playstyle and i like it second is obviously redhood (just my comic fantasion to play him) i didnt really used robin or nightwing more than 10 minutes but i need to change it. God thanks this game have game+

As someone who started out with red hood honestly he was just too sluggish for me of fourse with the way hes built it will be that way dont get me wrong hes the best ranged character in the game but it just got boring to me to just shoot over and over lol its all personal preference at the end of the day 🙂 all characters are viable regardless

Surprisingly my favorite are nightwing he jus feels the fastest wen fighting enemies and then his dodge game tough and batgirl she jus all round fun to play and I like suits
I play the best with Nightwing his combos just feel natural to me. My second favorite is Red Hood. Batwoman is not bad by any means I just prefer the other two over her, and maybe I’m tripping idk but Robin whew they could’ve did him so much better he’s a lost cost imo

Objectively, Batgirl is the best mechanically. There is literally no part of the game that her kit does not have benefits towards. She has hacking for stealth and combat, targeting abilities for bosses, AoE abilities for crowd control, cracked damage, and absurd defense. Also, she heals with her ult, grab strikes, and takedowns, and when she uses a health kit, and can revive herself. I think it's a little messed up she's the only character who is literally good at everything, when the other three all have very clear niches. Her story, however, is the worst. It is literally "I am better than everyone, and need to keep being better than everyone". She kinda treats the other Knights like shit, and is REALLY pushy. Her traversal is fine. It's not as great gliding as the Arkham games, and I don't need it to be, but I've been getting around Gotham with a goddamn grapnel and a cape for four fucking games now. I'm fucking bored of gliding. Her playstyle is just boring to me because she's mechanically the same character I've played for four games.
Robin is insane if you know how to build him. His combat is largely focused around elemental buildup, and his stealth is stupid good. He's got traps that are fantastic, his momentum abilities (except the cloak) are ridiculous, and he doesn't have the best damage but has really good AoE. His story, in my opinion, is the second best. He struggles with coming to terms with Bruce's death, the fact that he's the third Robin and not as "good" as either of them were, and trying to figure out his own way of doing things, especially when he has people who won't really teach him the way that he needs. I like his traversal, but I definitely understand the "breaking of flow", for sure, and I do wish there was maybe a skill for a longer window. I don't think they should adjust the scroll speed of it, because his positioning for the takedown from it is very finicky, so I usually need those 7 seconds just to line the thing up, and making it faster would only make that worse.
Nightwing is great for support and regular melee brawls. He has the fastest momentum generation, so you can spam his abilities, and most of them are AoEs. He has basic traps for stealth and he's great at evasion, so good luck getting hit when you do get spotted. His story is hit or miss. It could be better than Robin's, but I feel like there's not as much there emotionally as Robin. It's weird, because it's all about him trying to be and learning to be a better leader, but the dude has led the Titans in the universe, so, how did it take him like a decade of being a leader to learn how to be a better one? He is genuinely funny though, in like a "you... asshole" type of way. Plus he's the "big brother" of the group, and his history with all the various villains being the longest makes things interesting. His traversal is okay, but side-to-side and pinpoint movement with it is rough because the thing handles like a damned airship. His is the most "flow-breaking", largely because every time I expect him to backflip off of it and have a little control over where I land, not just zoom towards the ground. Grappling around and parkour with him is super fun though, because he's the only one who does flips and twirls.
Red Hood is awful at stealth, but absurd when it comes to open combat, primarily because his melee sets up his ranged. Use melee when people get close to you, knock them around, then throw them away and blow them up. Build him for elemental, punch a dude a few times and throw him and shoot the mine, and everyone is constantly stun-locked or on fire as you pour rounds into them. Build him without elements and for crit, and he has some of the highest damage in the game and you can be hitting crits almost every shot (sometimes even a crit with 5 times damage). In my opinion, his story is the best. He's very personally involved with Talia, you feel every bit of anger he has when a certain plot element gets involved later on, and he's struggling with self-control, especially with these new mystical abilities that let Ra's do some of the terrible things he did. He's the most "adult" of the four. I enjoy his traversal the most, because it's the easiest to blend with parkour and grappling. It's basically just an "air step". However, I will openly admit I am a Jason Todd fanboy (I literally have the Red Hood symbol tattooed on me and own every comic where he has an appearance, even Pre-Crisis), so my evaluation could be pretty biased for him.
The reason redhood is not as fast is because he has pistol to keep away for enemies. Also he is like more of a tank compare to the other kinghts.
Crazy how different our lists are. Just wish the game didn't stutter so bad on pc males it near unplayable
