The biggest take away is that Gavin really does have his ear to the ground about the format and genuinely cares. He wants people to play and have fun. He wants a healthy format.
Idk, if deadly dispute left it would create a lot of diversity as people move to the other cards that do the same thing, which I think would be cool to see people use more specific cards in each deck
Broodscale glee itself IS NOT problematic. The problem is the Chrysalis, as many people are saying, the midrange plan for the deck is simply too good. Even just chrysalis otself with a glee on it can win games on its own. We need new decks in the format, I don't think it's right to ban new decks just because they are very popular. Ban Chrysalis
@@runepedro right? Seems like every time a new deck appears, people get mad that it's a strong and functional one. The format power-creeps like all the others, so I think it's a bit of an overreaction to hard-ban broodscale combo, ban the cards around it instead: chrysalis and dispute.
@@sinistre4998 Chrysallis is basically the tarmogoyf of the format: it's really good, it dodges removal, but it's healthy dispute is a weird one indeed, but that would kill a bunch of decks (and diversity with that). Gardens would die for others' sins
@@runepedro Pauper spawned from MTGO, most of the player base tries to go infinite with leagues where they’re gonna see the same 3 decks over and over again. That causes them to feel like the format has gotten stale after only a few months or so compared to someone who only plays pauper in paper and probably plays against a much greater variety of decks
Going to test out a mono-black sac deck tonight at my LGS. It's going to be good. If I want it to be a turn 1 or 2 combo win, I'd have to drop $90 on a playset of the black rituals (Dark Ritual, Cabal Ritual, Cull The Weak). Trying to have something to be a counter to Rakdos Madness or mono-red burn
It doesn't sound like Gavin is actually knowledgeable about the state of Pauper. He talks about Chrysalis as if it only exists in the Gruul Ramp shell, card is so busted Glee, Gardens, and even some versions of Terror and Affinity splash for it. I'm so sick of it lol
@@ThatMillGuyShaf TeasdaleMTG uploaded a league with Temur Terror a week or so ago. It might be galeogiao's list. It's basically U/R Terror (Skred) with 4 Chrysalsis, 4 Rumble, 2 Hunter, and some people throw a Pulse of Murasa in there. Plus, you get Weather the Storm for the board. Idk if it's better than regular Skred but it just goes to show any deck with enough green or red sources will considering splashing the other for the eggplant haha
At 12:00 I hear and agree about format identity. The tapped lands should get the axe if any. Though I think deadly dispute and the lesser versions are the real problem
I think PFP made the worst decision for pauper right now. Chrysalis is a huge problem and it should’ve been banned. When ATG was banned one of the main arguments was that if you didn’t have the right answer at the right time, the enchantment would make the gaming experience miserable. ATG was WAY EASIER to interact with than chrysalis and now all of a sudden the gaming experience was not taken into consideration just the win rate percentage. Huge mistake in my honest opinion.
I think a WC ban would probably be fine, it would only make the Glee combo decks more specifically a combo deck, and Gruul Midrange would fade back into Ponza
the fact that the mh2 artifact lands come in tapped is balanced, you cant afford to play a tapped land t1 or t2 and expect to live vs red.. meta game be meta game yo
Interesting. I suppose it's stable, but getting rid of the few cards highlighted, would enable headroom for MANY cards to come in. Few cards, especially deadly dispute, are seen way too often! Personally. I think pauper is all about classic cards. So I think clockwok percussionist and goblin tomb raider should go!
@@TinyLokiGamingI don’t think banning new red drops is the way to slow down Mono Red. However, imo the best way to do this is banning card advantage, since is the weak spot of the decks.

Your pronunciation of Writhing Chrysalis is brutal

Squadron Hawk is the face card of Caw Gates, the Azorius (or more recently on occasion Jeskai) Control deck.
Love these videos bro!!

Bridges, Glee and Dispute maybe.
Red is fine, there will be cards at common that make it better or worse over time.
Basking brood scale should go, glee combo is the most frustrating experience in pauper there is
Thank you. For not leaving it
I would love a pauper rcq.
Been waiting for this video. 🎉🎉
Oh look a Pauper video. I like!
they couldn't let the Pio Masters be legal cuz of the mdfc lands imo. Decks would probably be too consistent if I had to guess.

Thraben charm has been freaking goooood for mono white too
I wish they semi restricted the writhing chrysalis to 2 copy or something. Not ban just make them less scary
I would love to play pauper but I have no community around to play in paper :(

Please dont ban dispute. It makes cyclestorm so much worse.
