Back in the 1950s, my father showed my some places that flooded, and he made it very clear that it was foolish to live or build below the historic high water mark. Building on the banks of a river is just asking for trouble.
I've been there, and I've done that. In 2018, both _Hurricane Florence & Hurricane Michael_ hit me back-to-back here in North Carolina. I was left without power for a month, with my next door neighbor's tree on my house. I'm thankful for Blessed Insurance.
All of my mothers family lives between Waynesville and Asheville, NC. I have always said Asheville is the most beautiful town in the winter. I took my wife to meet my grandma before she passed away. It was a beautiful place.
Extensive rain, mudslides, rivers/creeks, etc were already high from rain previous few days. 42 trillion gallons of water. Mud slides. The perfect storm. 😢
@@imapseudonym1403 But all that water so far inland so quickly. I think it has to do with how mountainous the region is. The water must shed off the mountains like hundreds or thousands of roofs and down into the valleys, building and building until your left with multiple feet of water at the end.
That’s a big “No Go”, if they didn’t have Flood Insurance which costs on average, about $500 💸 more per month, on top of whatever their premium rate already is!! 😖 😤
I just want to take a moment to thank President Joe Biden and VP Kamala Harris for their strong hand and steady leadership during these difficult times. I'm sure all Americans can appreciate their tireless efforts to bring supplies and FEMA housing to meet the needs of those affected. Cleanup and restoring utilities will be a long and difficult process, but with Biden/Harris/Walz we can get this done, together.
You have a sick sense of humor making jokes out of this situation. Dimocrats have been cheering this disaster because of the Trump supporters in this area. Dims have done nothing but make things worse.
I don't see any of those insurance ads where the agent magically appears to tell you everything is going to be fine in these circumstances.
This is not a coverable loss
@@Noname-eu5ujthat's his point dip shi lol it's that they do they insurance only covers things that most likely won't happen
Hurricane & tornado in America are like Israeli forces in Gaza, Plastine & Middle East.
So sad! If it's your house, please let is know how you are. I hope youre still here with us.
Noooooo my house
Hats off to the people in the inflatable rescue boat, dangerous in that fast moving water.
Such a tragic loss that everyone has and is enduring. Prays go out that all people will be found alive in the outskirts as well.

He gave you a priceless lesson: time forgets

The government needs to help now
AP exploiting the event but not reporting on what's really happening.
Look at that! Water is very powerful!
Yes it is
Palestinians 🇵🇸 tears are absolutely powerful
@@onlytruthcanwin2420 We are not discussing Palestine . We are commenting on a terrible natural disaster. But what’s coming is going to be even worse.
The scene looks so deadly powerful that even the rescue team should be scared.
Is this the sundown town 😅

❤
Was it a river overflow or flash flood?
Extensive rain, mudslides, rivers/creeks, etc were already high from rain previous few days. 42 trillion gallons of water. Mud slides. The perfect storm. 😢
Devastating
That is sad human lives taken i just never can get why people don't listen never mess with water floods or wildfires
That looks like a horror movie so much destruction
Where does all the water come from?
There is this brand new weather phenomenon called a "hurricane".

I think a water dam collapsed
Dam collapsed. They blame the hurricane but ultimately it was a man made structure that gave away
Dam collapsed
so scary. why not build houses with reinforced concrete
Sad
😮
I hope whoever owned that house has insurance. :O

Can’t fight Mother Nature!❤

Disgusting comment, you’re obviously not even an American or you wouldn’t be saying that.
Yes, we should thank them for spending almost a billon dollars of FEMA money on the people crossing the border instead of this terrible disaster.
This has got to be a sarcastic joke!
Lol surely this is a joke

Hahahhahahahh so funny 😅
Obviously theres high ground with those cars are riding by , why didn't the people just go up there
Kamala stated she wanted to send help to the Lebanese people who are suffering.
I'm sure they can find a few million dollars or so to help them with.
There should be some nice, cheap vacation property going up for sale in the area soon. Got to keep my eyes open for those...
He was driving way too fast for that home to make that turn.
A Haunting Moment
Ha ha ha 😂😂😂😂😂Gaza says " thank you Helene you are a true friend "🙏😂😂😂😂😂😂
