- Welcome to another episode of the Top 5 Arma 3 mods. in this episode, I am going to be looking at winter maps. I must say that these tend to be some of my favorite arma maps with gameplay. When I did my last arma 3 top 5 episode, on my favorite arma 3 maps, I didn't include a winter one so I thought I would fix it and show you guys 5 of the maps in this area. Of course, these aren't the only snow maps that are out there, you'll find some more but there are some great ones none the less. Milsim units are starting to get some of their deployments ready for winter and are thinking of snow campaigns so I hope this will help. I also thought it might be helpful to include some snow related mods on here as well which I have done in the honorable mention section. So sit back, relax and enjoy this episode!

Hey! How are you? I'm Vectif, the guy behind the making of Djalka. Thank you so much for mentioning my map and appreciating it. I love your videos and really love your Top lists! Thanks for including it, and I'm glad you liked it. It definitely was a lot of work, it may not be the greatest out there, but I put a lot of passion and love into it. I love Arma, and a lot of the fun I had was thanks to other content creators, mods, and missions other people had made, so I've always felt I was at debt with the game, so that's why I started wanting to mod for it - to give back to the game and the community! Djalka was my first serious project for it, and at the time everyone I knew wanted to see a good big snow map for Arma 3, so I took it upon myself to do it! I'm 20 now, and still in love with Arma, for sure doing more in the future! I always love to see what things people do with the terrain, so I'm down anytime to see some cool operations on it! Haha. hey dude, I‘m a regular ArmA player, and I really love the map Djalka. The fog gives it a very isolated and abandoned vibe, perfect for using vehicles and men from TTSKO winter (CUP). I love doing missions there and I just wat to tell you that your work is amazing and you should definitely continue with map making. Greetings!

10 months later but what are your future map plans?
Actually Vidda is a summer map, but is inside the Arctic Circle so still has snow on the high ground. If you change the date of the mission to June, it never gets dark. Similarly if you change the date to December it barely gets light.
oh yeah, I never noticed. That‘s a really cool feature.

I recently got into arma within the year do you have any big city maps with like skyscrapers all over recommendations? I want to make a urban mission
New Esseker is a post-apocalyptic forest/city hybrid you might like. As far as sky scrapers go, the only maps I know of are the ones used in OPTRE. But there's undoubtedly others out there somewhere.
I just bought this game. (I have 2.7 hours playing lol..) How do I join in with some multiplayer games ? I would also like to download some mods/maps etc...whats my best option for doing some things to get started ? Maybe a link to some vids you have made that will help me out ?
Find a milsim comunity they got all the instruction, map, mod ...etc... i would recomend TSB comunity.
One of the difficult things about arma that makes it unique is that so many people can play the game very differently. For example, saying that you want to join multiplayer games alone is difficult for people to respond to. A multiplayer game could be milsim, antistasi, public zeus, coop missions, king of the hill and the list goes on. How I play arma is often different than another which is different from yet another person. If I assume you mean milsim, each group plays the game a little differently, they get their mods differently etc. If it is milsim that you are wanting, on my discord I have an #faq section which has links on how to find a unit that is out there. When you join that community, they can personally walk you through how they play the game.

Im lookin to play with some peeps, yes I am new but Im a dedicated person since I literally have nothing else to do all day since I am, basically, bed/chair ridden all the time...(I have pulmonary fibrosis, so I am limited on what I can do without carrying oxygen around and all as I only have the use of 1 lung and it is @ 15%..the other is nonfunctional) So, lookin to get in with some people who are willing to teach some and have a dedicated player willing to spend hours playing, helping out etc...(I didnt say all that for sympathy, I was just explaining that I have a LOT of time on my hands is all...so, please don't let that be thought of in that way please...) Do appreciate your assistance either way my friend, thank you.
I’m surprised you didn’t mention Pecher from the original maps video. Doesn’t that one have a winter variant? Do you think its winter variant isn’t as good?

Grass on snow looks so bad and makes absolutely no sense. Couldn't the map creators just remove the grass entirely?
Vidda Legacy Version is definitely abandoned. It's been 4 years since any word on the project, let alone updates. Looks to me like the author is just throwing a childish fit because a handful of jerks decompiled the map, but his response is to punish _everyone_ out of spite.
I won't download the map out of principle for that reason. It's one thing if you don't want to work on a project anymore. I understand. Interests shift and priorities change. But to me it looks like he is actively preventing _anyone_ from working on his _abandoned_ project out of a dumb vendetta against some Life RPGers. It's not just immature. It stifles the community. If this is true then the guy is responding to people being an asshole by being the bigger asshole.
