Love the clipless body. Has Traxxas confirmed if the clipless system will be an option as after market purchase for the older bodies that require clips? It would awesome if they did. Thanks for another great video, Greg! Hope all continues to be well.

They should offer some custom kits. For example: A high trail custom kit where you get to chose certain things in the package like body, axle type, shock size, electronics, etc.. maybe even body colors to choose from or a clear body to paint yourself. Options packages like you're ordering a vehicle from the dealership.
Agree wish I didn't sell mine. At the time it was my only rig and I wanted more speed. Sold it to fund another model. Now its discontinued. Sucks. And the exocage was badass. No other model has had one stock since.
Honestly, I think the Defender length chassis is the the sweet spot for the lift kit especially if you get some weight down low and some mild extra width. I wasn't all that excited about the last round of short wheel base lifted trucks to be honest. I tongue in cheek made a comment about when the sport hightrail would come out and here it is. lol
Lol. I wonder what traxxas will do next? Maybe some “special edition” repaints. 2021 bronco and defender high trail? It would be real nice to see them try something a little new.
May I ask how it makes that much of a difference because the defender is only 1 inch longer and has half of an inch more of wheelbase I just don’t see how that would make a big difference?
@@SuperSpeederCarl The chassis is long enough to reach a little bit further to grab places the short wheelbase can’t reach. The extra belly clearance helps on break overs. The longer high trails like the F150 basically negate the break over advantage. The shorter wheelbase doesn't benefit at all.
I just received the red version of this truck and it sounds just like my Redcat Get 8 which isn't a bad thing it makes the truck sound ruff and rugged. My first run will be tomorrow and if its as good as my RC GEN 8 I'l be happy, thanks for your video's.
I do like the look and might pick up the gray sport for my GF. I have the trx4 K5 and love it. I want another trail rig and think this is it. Thanks for the review
Loving the new clipless body mounting system!!! But its a little different story if you are wanting to lift up the body for a little bit bigger wheels and Tires.

Sport body is ok, but if they sold a sport frame with a Chevy body, it would sell like mad. But no, they will continue to charge 150$ for the good looking body(that doesn't even have clear windows) and if I want to custom paint one it will cost even more.
if you compare it with the k10 blazer, which is better? of course it doesn't have the bridge locks, but just to see, you should do a test drive between the 2, hello from france 🤙🤙👍👍
@@andyb9994 You'd have to have a transmission that can disconnect the rear drive shaft to dig. Also, rear dig is sort of an Axial thing, not sure that would go over well.
@@andyb9994 I'm just saying you'd have to have a whole new transmission. There are people that have done an Axial transmission swap to get the rear dig feature. Personally, I'd rather install rear steer. Duplicate front axle and servo mount in the rear and swap the receivers and radio to one that is programmable. Cuts the turning radius way down.
Thanks for the great review and video. Personally I feel if you're running 2.2s that axle needs at least an inch wider... I lifted my original Bronco TRX4 before there was a lift kit and put scale rc4wd goodyear 2.2s on it it looked kind of cool and it performed pretty good in the snow and mud but lost at least 25% of its performance on side hills.
I agree 100%!! The tires are absolutely horrible! And these things don’t crawl that well. Definitely overrated in my book. I have dumped $710 into my TRX-4M and it would crush this TRX4.
Nice video. I see that you like some of the same places to drive as me. But i don't like the truck. Way to big wheels and the suspension is very stiff.
It sits too high to be very capable at all. The second it starts to lean or tip much it is done. A Class 1 rig with 90 mm shocks and 4.19 tires will drive away from it all day.

They’re doing it now on the Slash platform, not sure yet about TRX-4s

Love the Sport!!! Because those massive fenders can hold a much larger tire than the rest of the TRX-4 line-up.

Yup, simple is better. 90+% of the time I don use the fancy switch on the other trucks lol.

I enjoyed driving the Blazer more. With the longer wheelbase it was more stable. I really like the look and simplicity of the Sport though.

The top cover was removed to show the gears. The cover holds the motor in place. It was just resting there in that shot.

you need to droop the suspension and get it super low with low weight oil and they are awesome.... the one in the video seemed jacked all the way up
