Traxxas TRX-4 K10 Problem Made Me Crazy

- The Traxxas TRX-4 is a great platform to build and customize and I’ve been having a great time installing some Traxxas option parts on the K10 High Lift Edition. I installed several aluminum parts, a little weight, the push bar. BUT one option really made me crazy! It seemed like something wasn’t right and after some trials and testing and then finally a phone call I figured it out. The end result is a great looking TRX-4 that I’ll show you driving on the trial.

I bought a bunch of bed risers to use as stands for my rc cars so that the tires don't get flat spots. They work great.
Really helpful video! My LHS and I spent 20 minutes comparing the bracket in the lighting kit with your video to determine if it was correct!

Looks so sweet with light kit and push bar. Definitely the lighted rollbar as well. I have only had one casualty with it after a couple months of running it. It can be a lil weak at front axle, driver side.
Snapped it with minimal off roadin. Looks so cool out in mother nature for sure ❤

Great mods... you could lose the bounce with thicker oil. See when you climb and the back bounces... less spring and thicker oil will let it climb rather than bounce! Keep the shiny side up... great vid!!

A couple 2x4's and cut sections to length to lift many vehicles. Better than sitting a wheel under and can be cut to multiple different lengths to accommodate any chassis..
Yes Sir Greg, IUnderstand the kit discrepancies on the K10 Cheyenne High Trail Lighting...Not a full kit like the 21 Bronco... Adding the lighted Roll Bar is even more a pain ... But for the Truck itself it's Great after adding low weight for LCG (I changed wheel's to Beadlocks and Peel and Stick Mag weights)

I use foam yoga blocks to store the crawlers on . I love the trx 4 range . 👍nice one Greg . The light kits are good and well thought out 👍
Nice! I’ve got a bunch of old tires from all sorts of builds. So get a new life as non-slip car stands. They do have nice kits. Good to see they updated the K10 setup.

That’s weird , I’m in Canada and I bought my light kit for my K10 in March and it came with 2 options for the bracket mount you mentioned. No issues mounting it up
Mine was an early option. Just figured that out after I made the video. I listed the new version in the video description.

Look up a DXF 7.6v 6300mah it’s a freakin wicked battery that fits perfectly in the very front by the servo and provides really good front end weight for climbing. Then you have a second battery that you don’t have to carry in your pocket.
I installed the Pro Scale light kit on my Trx4 79 Bronco and the turn signals are backwards. 🤦♂️ Installed correctly ,as you can only install them correctly due to wire length, but when I turn the opposite signal flashes.
How to adjust end points on the High Trail Cheyenne K10 driving me nuts, have the cheat sheet followed exactly will not work, any help will be deeply appreciated that's Greg Great Video too!
Got the same light kit in mine and love it. Just never figured out the blinkers. Who uses their blinkers when crawling anyway?🤣👍🏻

Hi, quick question I’m hoping you can answer it. The gray sport high trail body(clipless). Is it the same size as the new bronco clipless body? In other words are they the same length so that I can buy a gray high trail body and interchange it with my bronco TRX4?

What that body called ? Such a lovely looking truck. Do they do these style of bodies for Tamiya and Arrma also ? What’s the trick in real life called?
Definitely need to front mount a small 3s in those high trails…. That big heavy battery sits way too high. At least a lighter battery up front alleviates some of that weight

You need some weighted beadlocks. The Traxxas white shock springs and a small 3s battery for the front tray or the hot racing low cg battery tray. It turns the truck into a much more capable crawler. Will outperform the 2021 Bronco with those changes. I'm using an eBay custom light kit this guy makes on there. I like it better than the Traxxas light kit.
Pretty much everything you can get for TraxxAss that's worth having is third party, cheaper and better.
I'm done supporting their business model. FMS is way better IMHO.
Now it needs a castle kit 3800kv and a momba x

I just bought 1 for my first rc and I believe I broke it,I had it for 3 days before it broke. It was driving fine until I turned it off and realized the motor was so hot I couldn’t even touch it. I let it cool down then went to drive it again and it didn’t move. It has power and everything works it just won’t drive. Can some please help out😅
I had to laugh - I did the exact same thing with the wire on the light kit in my F150…went crazy trying to figure it out until I found the hole right through the middle of that wire… 😂
Right!! I thought I was cool routing the wire under the others and it turns out it slid over and I put the screw through. Ugh! I was a bit more careful with the Maxx cable lol
Suspension on these out the box is way to hard. Went to 15Wt shock fluid.

If you had to pick one trx4 to drive every single day, which one would it be?
The TRX-4 Sport. Or if you have extra cash. The TRX-4 Traxx. It’s kinda a hidden gem. They give you a bonus tire set and it has the body accessories.
A TRX4 2021 Bronco with all Traxxas accessories and aftermarket parts.
Get a proper 7.4v bec to power the servo directly on this one.

Traxxas told my local track/hobby store if he didn't order 30k worth of product then he can't order any. Pretty much giving the finger to the little guy. So I don't think they will get any more of my money.
Same here in the UK - ignoring a fabulous little shop and giving total priority to the big online warehouses. No apology from Traxxas, and like you, I'll go to alternative manufacturers now. Good products, but arrogant company.
Traxxas is my least favorite RC company. I haven't liked them since the 90s. They're basically the apple of RC companies.

My 21 bronco is definitely my most ran RC…. Maybe it’s because you can run for hours of a 5000mah pack or maybe it’s just the best RC money can buy 🤔🤣. It’s been awesome to bring it on hikes, 2nd gear when I’m walking then I just drop it into low gear when I find a good spot to crawl 😁

I just bought brand new trx-4 sport and the steering clanks on the axle at 80% turn and they may not replace because the box is open. Hate this company they wont allow hobby shops to accept returns either they r sheisty.
Traxxas light kit over priced waste of money,other companies give you much more for your $ with remotes n light features,but hey throw $ out the door if you want lol

Here's the issue. Traxxas makes the most fun and capable 4x4 crawler with portals rtr on the market with tons of option parts and killer looks. Any other crawlers get close? Maybe redcat gen 8, but not really😅
