It's serious, but here's the good news: alongside medications and lifestyle tweaks, your food choices can play a crucial role in kidney health.

Dr Frita I had a kidney ultrasound and was told that my right kidney had an obstruction. I feel fine though. Do some people have an obstruction of one kidney and can be perfectly fine?
Also, does this mean that the obstructed kidney isn’t functioning or only partially functioning? My doctor didn’t explain this to me at all and I wanted some clarity on it …
How do you eat the garlic ? Do you mix in other foods?
(1) Red Bell Pepper
(2) Cranberries
(3) Red Cabbage
(4) Garlic / Onion
(5) Apples
(6) Fatty Fish - Salmon
(7) Citrus Fruits and Berries
(8) Egg White
(9) Chia Seeds and Flax Seeds
These are the fruits & vegetables she recommended in this video? If so Thank You very much 🙏😌 sometimes I can't watch the entire video or I don't want to 🤦♀️.
THANKS U SO MUCH FOR THIS LIST CHEERS & SALUTE.
@@naimahthomas1035 You should read her book Under Pressure. ❤
I don't agree with the fish and eggs all the veggies I get it. I want to be plant based high fiber nutritional dense diet anyway. Thanks for sharing big fan
Thank you Dr, for sharing.
I had CKD 3 for years. After doing keto for half a year my creatinine level is normal now. My mum reversed her diabetes 2. Unbelievable.
Hi
Did you limit your protein ?
All I can say is, my brother is a Nephrologist in Charlotte and even if your kidneys are healthy and you don’t have HPB it’s still really good to consult with a Renal Specialist to keep them that way. Thank you Dr Frita
Mmay we all get healed. For its written that by His stripes we are healed." Amen.
Amen
Bell peppers, garlic, onion, vegetable and tuna have done wonders for me along with consuming a lot of water (with lemon juice) and three cups of coffee per day. I stopped eating breakfast, except for drinking a 24ounce glass of water with lemon juice in it and a cup of coffee. My first meal is lunch and everyday I ate the same thing - an omelet with lots of onions, bell peppers and garlic and canned tuna. Also, I drastically reduced sodium intake as well as drastically reducing my use of ketchup. After 3 months of doing that, my doctor ordered a 24-hour urine collection as well as blood works. The results are:
** eGFR went from 56 to 70
** creatinine back within the normal range
** No more protein in the urine
** Normal calcium levels
My Nephrologist called to give me the results and said, whatever I am doing I am to continue doing it.
I love ur story going to follow it
I was injured at the onset of covid. The injury both depressed and debilitated me. In addition to the injury my body didn't feel "correct". My once borderline high bp had increased exponentially. I requested but was denied a referral and testing. I read and/or watched any/everything I could find, including your videos. Simultaneously, I campaigned at the highest administration level. I got the doctor, referrals and testing I sought. My GFR was 70 and I had protenouria. After research, review and discussion of my labs (which were otherwise textbook) with the head of the department, I refused the recommended medications. Instead, I returned to the healthy lifestyle I had pre-injury incorporating a kidney healthy diet and water aerobics in place of the 1-3 miles walked daily pre-injury I asked the doctor to repeat all labs in 90 days. My GFR is now 80, proteinuria gone and my labs remain textbook. My bad cholesterol is down. My good up. I've lost 35 of the pounds I gained. Additionally, my bp medication has been reduced from 5mg to 2.5. Thank you so much for your videos. I've shared. For those facing what I did, please : (1) do your research, (2) ask questions and challenge answers, (3) review your labs, (4) make the lifestyle choices and (5) KEEP WATCHING DR. FRITA. For the 1st time since my injury I feel like I'm back in the driver's seat.
Blessings to you and your family. Thank you for giving many of us back to our families. 🍉🍎🍓🫐
Thank you so much for the support and kind words. I wish you all the best on your journey to wellness.
Please tell more about your kidney diet . Thanks
Good girl, and God bless you..❤
Fantastically amazing! Did you do water aerobics every day? How many minutes/hours of exercise did you do daily within those 90 days?
I incorporate all the kidney friendly fruits and veggies in a smoothie except for cabbage. I thinly slice my cabbage and peppers into my salads or as a topping for tacos, sandwich wraps etc.
Thank you for your videos. My kidneys have been monitored for years due to my high bp but after contracting covid 2 years ago, it severely damaged my kidneys putting me in renal failure and knocking my gfr down to 5%. Since, ive gone plantbased and brought my gfr up to 18-22 but after having a biopsy i was told covid casued sever scaring to my kidneys beyond repair. My hopes are to maintain my kidney functions as long as possible and your videos have been very helpful and inspiring...
Dr. Frita excellent video . Aside from being a great communicator and very intelligent, this beautiful young lady wears the Christian cross, a godly women.
Praise the lord JESUS christ.
I’m a Christian and I think many other Christians make a great error wearing, hanging and worshipping a graven image. The Roman Catholic religion is fully entrenched in idolatry. We have been warned by God, yet we disobey his words. EXODUS 20:4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:”
Although Dr. Frita is a great communicator and very intelligent, the emphasis on her Christian faith in her professional videos can cause controversy regarding the objectivity and appropriateness of her information. scientific message.
I’m on disability right now I love to know how to take care of my kidney and I’m so thank you for you to come out teaching how to eat to take care of
You’re welcome! 😊 I'm glad you found the information helpful and I wish you all the best on your journey to wellness.

I would like to know about the foods you shouldn't eat if you have kidney disease?
This is just an interesting topic. Thamks
My doctor told me that I have stage 3 kidney disease. He said for me to break the Lisinopril in half that he gave me saying that I have high blood pressure. He's saying also that the Lisinopril he prescribed for me may have been too strong 😮. 20-25. I said I've always told you I didn't believe I had high blood pressure and now this has happened to me since he assured and assumed that I did have it. Now I'm really pissed 😡 and yes afraid. But I'm not going down or out like this without a fight. I THANK YOU so much for the video. What else do you recommend besides what you've already shown me.
Nice informative video!! I love how you break the different values of the fruits and seeds!! Keep us INFORMED!!

Thank you for this video. Well informative you are helping so many people Dr Frita including me. 🙏🏾🙏🏾
I take red cabbage, lettuce, red bell pepper, spinach, kale with red onion make salad and sprinkle chia seed over it with my favorite dressing.
Thank you this is very helpful lesson
Great video and thanks for the list. I'm a kidney cancer survivor and have had a partial nephrectomy so I'm a great believer of every food on your list. The only thing I would raise caution with is red bell peppers. These peppers eaten raw contain lectins which can damage gut bacteria. However, if cooked first, no problem.
Thanks again. Really appreciate your content.
Thank you so much ❤
You are the life saver 😊❤️❤️ Dr frita ❤❤

Thank you so much for this. I’ve began changing my eating habit a few years ago. All the food on this video (except the onions and fish) are the only things that are in my fridge. I don’t know why I chose to begin these purchasing these specific foods. But my mind and body just told me to begin eating these. I guess my spirit was telling me I needed a change. I’m subscribing 🙏🏾💪🏾
Hi Doctor great video, is Kombucha good for you?

Dr.Frita 11:14pm all the foods that you showed tonight I have in my kitchen. My friend is on dialysis three times a week with the doctors are not telling him how to get off dialysis. How do you know when your blood is clean enough to get off of dialysis they’re not telling him anything about getting off of dialysis.
Thanks Dr. miss your Videos !🙂🙂
Thank you Dr. Friday for this informative video 📹👍
Always informative thank you❤
Thank you Dr for that wonderful information please I want to ask dues it mean that eating egg with the yoke is not good for the kidneys?
I'm 74 and this is how I normally eat. I eat a large breakfast with a family size salad with 15 to 20 different vegetables, an egg, and a tortilla with either minced chicken or minced turkey mixed with six beans cooked tomatoes and a bunch of other stuff. I exercise and I'm a cyclist. I haven't been to a doctor since the 1970s for anything serious. So far so good I've been pretty much the same size all my life, 170lbs.
What if my blood pressure is good but my kidney function goes down but it goes up and down like 49 gfr ? I have none stop uti
So am I still susceptible to kidney failure?

Good day Doctor, I have been on dialysis for the past two years. pls help me to stop dialysis. Thanks and God bless for the information. Waiting for your find back
Thank you, some nice information. Just a word that no foods can repair kidney damage (let’s not sensationalise) that said, a healthy nutritious diet will certainly improve over all health.

Hello Dr. Frita. Most mornings I have a bowl on Chia Buckwheat groats, with cinnamon , and a whole cup of bluberries on top. To make, boil ⅓ cup raw buckwheat groats for 8 minutes. Rinse in with cool water in a colander, return to the pot, mix in 1 tablespoon of Chia seeds and add 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, put in your bowl and add 1 full cup of blueberries. Delicious!
Ps I make several 4 portions at a time, and place in individual containers, keeps up-to 4 days.
By the way, thank you for your podcasts, I’m a diabetic T1 , much appreciate ! 🌻

I Dr.Frida. i am living with CD as a result of Lupus. I do see a Nephrologist. Due to potassium being an issue in CDalong with phosphorus, i try to eat a low potassium diet. I read where it says uts not good to eat salmon when you have CD. At times i am afraid to eat foods with potassium in it. I watched your video and i am encorporating the foods you mentioned. What is the amount of potassium can i consume each day? I know potassium is good for your nerves, muscles, etc. Iam also taking medications for the Lupus and is on Xeralto as a blood thinner. I have HBP as well. I have osteoarthritis. I don,t want to end up on dialysis so, i am trying to to eat better, i have lost a bit of weight in the process. I try to walk as much as i am able. Sometimes the knees act up so, i have to take a break. I am scared to eat foods containing potassium. Can you fffer any tips to help
If one follows your nutritional guide lines - it could mean coming off type 2 meds.
