Hi Hoober, if you do need an inexpensive oil change, last minute or just don't have the time to do it yourself, try taking your car to Walmart for an oil change. My wife and I both love Rain-X. All great tips, I do use a battery operated vacuum from time to time and it work well for me. The corded vacuum is never far away, though. Keep up the good work, Scotty!
Hey Scotty you didn't put down the floor mat or the shop vac link - you put down the headlight link for both the floor vac and shop vac :) As usual great video - you rock!
I tried to top off the ac on my 2006 Tundra with a quality can with a Guage. It showed I needed nothing after 16 years. It was just the Texas heat that made me think it might need coolant.
The ATS definitely works. Used on my wife’s GDI Hyundai Genesis 3.8 V6 with 50k miles. Used to throw out a little puff of blue smoke on cold startup (low tension rings), now no puff of blue smoke and gas mileage increased to exactly where it was new, which was almost 40 miles per tank full.
Because of this channel I bought the Baxter Performance for my 2016 Toyota Corolla S. I have had leaking issue but I got Mr. Baxter involved and he worked with Take 5 to get it resolved. We went to a different filter.
Scotty, I've used RainX on my windows since the 70s. Have to admit not turning on the wipers and driving passengers nuts. But another perk to treating the windows, they clean up so much easier. Bugs will get cleared off by the wipers. When it starts to streak, time to retreat. Great job Scotty.
@@Gleeleeglee Some of the canned refrigerants have a "stop leak" additive that can cause problems if you have future work done on your Ac system. A lot of shops do not want to use their AC service equipment on vehicles that have stop leak in their AC systems because it can cause problems with their equipment. The refrigerants without stop leak are OK and should have no negative effects.
That RainX waterless clean is some fantastic stuff. I use it to clean my whole car with it. Even though my car sits in a dusty area at work with the dirt blowing around and all I have to do after the wash is a dry rag dusting and I'm good for a few more days. And this stuff will still keep your car in shining condition after 2-3 rain storms. Which reminds me I have to go buy more. 🙃
For my dusty Pony car, I have a *TRUE* California Car duster. No scratching the clearcoat & the dust is gone in no time! /Get a REAL one, not a "discount automotive auto part store" one. It'll say the name right on the packaging if it's real!
@Buick Mackane Yeah the RainX waterless car wash does the car and the windows. No water spots. After the rain the next day just take a dry rag and quickly dust off the car and the shine is back like you just applied.
I like that filter converter kit, but the only real problem I can see is that oil filters are often in a weird spot and the filter "converter" may be too large and not be able to fit as I've seen instances where you might have only about 3 inches between the bottom of the filter and something else, so it may have limited use, but a good idea regardless. Plus some cars have the oil filter on the bottom of the vehicle. So adding something like that may make it too long, risk getting bent or broken and then you have bigger problems. For paint, I think it may depend. I had to get some touch up paint for my Camry to fix a small rock chip, and being that it's only 2 years old and the Celestial Silver color (which is a silverish blue) it's hard to find that paint color (even though that color has been out now for 5 years since the most recent generation came out in 2018 in the US). If you have an older car, then some of those paints will probably work fine, as they will likely be the best you can get, but for newer cars, I would try to get the OEM paint first.
Another problem is that adapter is $250.00. I'll buy the synthetic media Fram Ultra insert and deal with it. If it was $30.00 id say it was a good idea.
I have the exact same story with the RainX and the windshield, the waters glides right off on the highway during rain so I don't use the wipers and she is never as impressed as I am that we can drive in rain without using the wipers.
I've used something like that waterless cleaner a long time ago to wash my whole car. My car is still clean looking to this day. And I did that many years ago. That waterless cleaner is amazing stuff. It wasn't rain-x i don't think. But it was still good. But I do prefer rain-x windshield wipers though.
You forgot the synthetic stop leak. That product stopped every leak. We used it on my friends rear seal, the brakes and the power steering pump. All of them stopped leaking and still functioned properly.
On my semi and cars I started pouring a couple to three inches of the rainx washer fluid. Got me a bug/ squeegee. Dip the sponge bug eraser side in and scrub windshield and squeegee off. After multiple times of cleaning the rain blows off quite well. Oh and the bucket with the remaining fluid I just cover and leave in for the next use.
I have had a set of these floor mats since 2014. I absolutely recommend them. The mats are very protective & easy to clean. The driver mat is beginning to show age after 9 years. I must say the front mat will hold about 16 oz of coffee! 😂
My way of not making a mess from the oil filter is as this. First warm up vehicle. Next pan under filter. Use 16 penny nail to pucture filter. Go inside watch T.V. for half hour or so. Remove filter And install new filter. Don't forget to apply small amount of oil to the rubber gasket at the top of the filter. Reposition drain pan. Remove oil pan drain nut. Go watch T.V. again for half hour or so. Reinstall oil pan drain nut. Fill crank case with oil. Use funnel to put old oil back into now empty oil bottles. Return used oil to parts depot.
Hey Scotty; love the show, noticed that it looks like you forgot to include the touch up paint in the description lists. Just thought you might want to know. Look forward to more shows.
Headlight you wear on your head is very handy. I found a slightly different one at a Walgreens. So many uses for it I even used it so traffic could see me snow-blowing before I go to snow blower that had its own headlight.
I purchased the ATS Fuel Treatment recommended from a video of yours last year and it got rid of my check engine light on my Q7. Carbon build up on the valves, It Worked!! had to run two applications but it saved lots of $$ of having the intake removed and the valves chambers cleaned. I recommend the product all the time now. The Oil treatment is great too!
I work on the homes of the rich. My truck was leaking oil. Scotty recommended a product that WORKED. Not the first time Scotty has saved my butt. He's great, I love the guy.
Scott Sir: Please reply with the name of your product recommendation. Thank you ever so much for your unlimited valuable advice and recommendations. You are a world treasure.
I have had the 3d maxpider floor mats on my car too for 3.5 years now and it still looks brand new when I clean them! Highly recommend. I didn't know about the consumer ac refill. Great to know!
@@Streetracerex1998 it's completely weather proof . Spills, snow, rain, mud, etc. Won't get passed this mat. The top layer is like textured plastic (probably some high tech stuff) but is completely water proof. It also has high walls that hold it's shape well so nothing is vgetting passed this very slim
@@Streetracerex1998 Amazingly. There's an elevated rim that keeps in water/snow, etc. I drive Uber and have tried Weathertechs and Huskies which are garbage and ghetto looking compared to the Maxpider Kagu's.
They did the same to me at Honda with my AC, we have to do the $150 diag, to replace the $5 Relay, which is 95% of the fix when this problem happens. They swapped the Relay out, fixed the problem, only after they did the $150 diag.
The cartridge oil filter adapter unit from Baxter is a little pricey but I love the idea. I work on these every day, and the Tundra is the absolute worst vehicle, it's the bane of our auto care center (I'm certain ours isn't the only one), and this would be an absolute life saver with these things. I love it and will recommend it to my customers.
Scotty I love your videos! I'm gonna see if I can find a complete set of those floor mats for my 2001 Ford F-150 SuperCrew. I hate when I get sand all in my carpet and can't get it out! And I've used that AC Recharge multiple times on my vehicles, Works Great!
Scotty you should follow your own advise. There is no way to tell how much refrigerant is in there. The only correct way to do it is to get a set of guages that measure both sides, drain the system of refrigerant and fill it to the factory load that's listed under the hood. You won't know if there's a problem with the AC system unless you measure temps on both sides and do a vaccum test to see if there are any leaks.
@@usaman7358 That isn't what I am saying. If you want to do it correctly, draining the entire amount of refrigerant out of the system, and look up how much refrigerant your car takes. Buy only that amount of cans and put them in. However without a set of guages, you won't know if you have a leak or clog in the systems
It's about keeping your vehicle in the highest quality possible for the engine and transmission. You can put a spin on filter that has an anti drain back valve
Yea, one can go and simply fill up their a/c system as described here but the correct procedure is to, first, empty the system to a vacuum for at least 10 minutes (to dry the system out as water is damaging), check and repair leaks, and then place the correct, clean a/c refrigerant into the system, with the correct amount of a/c oil. Not applying the vacuum can be bad if you have water in your system, very bad.
Scotty, you should have told people not to turn the AC filler can upside down when filling the AC system. Getting liquid Freon in the system can muck it up quick. I checked out the oil filter adapter. YOW! $$$$!
I actually have the same 3D floor mats for my 2013 Subaru outback. Over time, I noticed that they weren't looking clean. I washed them with soap and a brush but they would dry dirty looking. I don't recommend them if you're looking for something that looks clean after you wash it.
What you said from 13:16! Old saying, "Honesty is the best policy." We benefit from your honest reviews, thank you! Also thank you for your time and efforts on trying those products out.
Another great vid. I always burp a little refrigerant through the hose before connecting it so am not pushing any air from the hose into the AC system .
I got tired of struggling to see with those pointless little lights and bought a 7,000-lumen LED work light for $35 at the hardware store. Best thing I’ve bought all year.
I like the floor mats so I clicked the link but it was for the head light not the floor mats. Looks like a couple of them have the same code. Can you tell me where to find the floor mats please?
Along the Rain x line of waterless cleaners I’d recommend the fw1 cleaning wax. It works very well as a cleaner and wax all in one. I always bring a can to the racetrack on track events and clean the car there right after to get the pad debris and rubber particles off the car immediately and it leaves a nice wax afterwards.
I recently changed my oil on my 2012 Malibu and found oil gushing from the top of the plastic cover. I had cracked it either taking it off or putting it on. My car would not run will it was leaking like that. Luckily Autozone had a replacement on hand. I'll have to keep a spare or get this adapter you showed. I think I'll get both just in case.
So as someone who spent 6yrs in the automotive industry you do not want to use those emergency AC refills without research. Not all cars use the same refrigerant. Some are 1234yf and some are 134yf. You do not want to mix refrigerant. Check your manual before putting one of those in and make sure it matches. We have to have two separate AC machines for both types of refrigerant.
*SAME Autozone AC fillup with gauage* 2 years ago :"Never use this on your car's ac system" Today: * Shows same thing.* These things actually work! WTF!? 😅
well he said always watch his new videos.. lol.. that's where the current information is. I'm guessing over time he has changed his opinion. I thought it was all because you needed to know the exact pressure amount so maybe that's why he's saying you have to have that pressure gauge on it.
@@TheUnknownHarbingers yes pressure gauge is important but he HAD pressure gauge on the ac can 2years ago too. It just doesnt make sense to have two opposing videos using the same item, in my opinion if he thinks differently now then he needs to address that.
You know Scotty I haven't done my Air Conditioning in either of my trucks for a few years, Absolutely I should grab a can or two with the gauge on it it, top them both up, before Summer is here!! Only makes total sense Thank You!!
I bought these fitted mats when you could still make good money off Uber. After 3000 trips there are no signs of wear. Without them, my carpet would be a smoking hole. Highly recommended.
Spot on about the Baxter oil filter conversion unit. A little pricey but worth it. Built like a solid piece of steel. My mechanic had to do it for me because the Toyota dealer put the cartridge filter on so tight I could not get if off but I took it to a mechanic to get the plastic garbage off and install the Baxter unit. Really simple to do but like I said but the Toyota housing was really overtightened, On an 18 Rav4. Love it. Do it!! You won't regret it.
That will not work on my 2012 Camry, that stupid adapter thing is so long that the oil filter would actually be dragging the ground. The cartridge filter is just not that big of a deal to me, they work fine.
@@markkauffman6184 I know what you mean. The model they make for the RAV4 enables you to use a filter length that when installed cannot be seen and doesn't protrude at all. Of course you have to use a shorter filter but it seems to work fine. Nothing wrong with the original cartridge system but if you don't do your own oil changes you are trusting someone to install them without over tightening, which happened to me.(it was a Toyota dealer too, that's what really P...ed me off.

Love it when Scotty talks about gadgets. It means its time to spend some dough!
I thought he said to not use these canned refrigerants a few yrs back??
@@Gleeleeglee Some of the canned refrigerants have a "stop leak" additive that can cause problems if you have future work done on your Ac system. A lot of shops do not want to use their AC service equipment on vehicles that have stop leak in their AC systems because it can cause problems with their equipment. The refrigerants without stop leak are OK and should have no negative effects.
He had so much hot fan blowing head starting to look like a roasted pineapple hahah scotty you are good with cars!
It sure is! The Rain x that removes tar and wax it's awesome
For my dusty Pony car, I have a *TRUE* California Car duster. No scratching the clearcoat & the dust is gone in no time!
/Get a REAL one, not a "discount automotive auto part store" one. It'll say the name right on the packaging if it's real!
@@ScottMeister I have one of those. They still make those, as I bought mine decades ago? They work great too. 😲😲😲
@Buick Mackane Yeah the RainX waterless car wash does the car and the windows. No water spots. After the rain the next day just take a dry rag and quickly dust off the car and the shine is back like you just applied.
Yes, got a headband light myself few months ago. Worth its weight in gold!
YOUR A GOOD MAN SCOTTY TY FOR YOUR HELP 👍🏻
I have the exact same story with the RainX and the windshield, the waters glides right off on the highway during rain so I don't use the wipers and she is never as impressed as I am that we can drive in rain without using the wipers.
I've used something like that waterless cleaner a long time ago to wash my whole car. My car is still clean looking to this day. And I did that many years ago. That waterless cleaner is amazing stuff. It wasn't rain-x i don't think. But it was still good. But I do prefer rain-x windshield wipers though.
MR SCOTTY KILMER YOUR VIDEOS ARE ALWAYS ENTERTAINING AND INFORMATIVE! THANKYOU FOR MAKING THEM, THEY ARE ALWAYS ENJOYABLE AND EDUCATIONAL.
You forgot the synthetic stop leak. That product stopped every leak. We used it on my friends rear seal, the brakes and the power steering pump. All of them stopped leaking and still functioned properly.
You sir are the most animated enthusiastic mechanic ive ever seen and i love it lol
Scotty has been a mechanic for as long as I’ve been alive. That’s pretty impressive.
6:09 "Great for spelunkers." I use to do a lot of that spelunking in my younger days, but I never needed any illumination, lol.
Scotty, would you include the link to the spray touch up paint and fix the link to the floor mats. Looking for both. Love the video!
I like helping people out, which way they came in!
I have had a set of these floor mats since 2014. I absolutely recommend them. The mats are very protective & easy to clean. The driver mat is beginning to show age after 9 years. I must say the front mat will hold about 16 oz of coffee! 😂

Hi Scotty!!🙋🏻♀️
Thank You for your time and your daily videos.
Hello and no thank you!
You can’t help but like this guy ' he really knows everything about cars and trucks ! And tells you what you don’t know !
What stop leak product did he recommend?
Yea what was it that stopped the leak?

I have had the 3d maxpider floor mats on my car too for 3.5 years now and it still looks brand new when I clean them! Highly recommend.
I didn't know about the consumer ac refill. Great to know!
I've tried them all and Maxpider Kagu's are the best!
How does it hold up again spills and snow? I have weathertech and wondering about this brand
@@Streetracerex1998 it's completely weather proof . Spills, snow, rain, mud, etc. Won't get passed this mat. I love Scotty! Nothing but practical advice! He’s great!
They did the same to me at Honda with my AC, we have to do the $150 diag, to replace the $5 Relay, which is 95% of the fix when this problem happens. They swapped the Relay out, fixed the problem, only after they did the $150 diag.
I highly recommend the head lamp and floor mats. I have both and love them

Hope you have better luck than me. I can't find any of those mats for my 2004 Toyota Tacoma. :(
13:00 I couldn't get a wiper module for my 1994 Thunderbird so that's how I kept the windshield clear in the rain. Lots of rainex.
I'm a fan of the Rainex. Use it on my Honda Cub. Alot easier than dragging out a hose and bucket, then still towel drying.
Glad to see you promoting that auto paint company, but knowing about them several years, their amazing!

on cat converters? Shame on you!
Scotty you should follow your own advise. There is no way to tell how much refrigerant is in there. The only correct way to do it is to get a set of guages that measure both sides, drain the system of refrigerant and fill it to the factory load that's listed under the hood.
You won't know if there's a problem with the AC system unless you measure temps on both sides and do a vaccum test to see if there are any leaks.
so you are saying NOT to use that product from Autozone? I'm thinking of doing so based on this video
Your not the typical automotive technician scotty, your honest.
We need more people like you scotty!! Thank you :)
All these guys on TH-cam teaching people how to fix their car are the unsung heros of the world!
The Baxter adapter for a 2014 Jeep Cherokee 3.2L V-6 is $350.00. I can buy 23 K&N cartridge oil filters for that price. Ouch.
One time usage
It's about keeping your vehicle in the highest quality possible for the engine and transmission. You can put a spin on filter that has an anti drain back valve
i have bought that touchup paint twice in the past. it worked really well for me!
Appreciate the ac can. I love how the mechanic places say u have to evacuate, refill wt dye, & chk for leaks. Charge $150.00 or so. Thks Scotty.
My cousin drove his 86 Caprice using Rainx in lieu of wipers (because they didn't work) for years. lol

I’ve been listening to you for years, I do find you to be honest…God bless you for that
Scotty, you should have told people not to turn the AC filler can upside down when filling the AC system. Getting liquid Freon in the system can muck it up quick.
I checked out the oil filter adapter. YOW! $$$$!
Also, didn't they switch to a different refrigerant on newer cars?

I actually have the same 3D floor mats for my 2013 Subaru outback. Over time, I noticed that they weren't looking clean. I washed them with soap and a brush but they would dry dirty looking. I don't recommend them if you're looking for something that looks clean after you wash it.

How does the fuel additive work with injectors for removing carbon.
Another great vid. I always burp a little refrigerant through the hose before connecting it so am not pushing any air from the hose into the AC system .

“Look, it’s got VELCRO!” 🤣🤣🤣
I recently changed my oil on my 2012 Malibu and found oil gushing from the top of the plastic cover. I had cracked it either taking it off or putting it on. My car would not run will it was leaking like that. Luckily Autozone had a replacement on hand. I'll have to keep a spare or get this adapter you showed. I think I'll get both just in case.
Rain x is so damn good cheap as hell too. And those 3ds mats are nice Finnair ones that go over the hump/middle part
Been using the regular Rain x for many years. I never have to run the wipers so long as I am going over 30 mph. It's a great product !
The 1234yf is reverse threaded on the connections, hard to mix it up
You have a video from 3 years ago saying not to do this. Did things change? Love your videos... thank you
I don’t drive but enjoy listening to your videos. Very entertaining!

well he said always watch his new videos.. lol.. that's where the current information is.
