@@Carabas72 This is why they ask the family for permission. You all are so narrow minded, you think this whole thing is black and white, we’re entering a future with ai and cgi that can do a lot of things for media, and people are so fixated on their opinions whether something is right or wrong they don’t even think about the inbetween, the nuance, when something is right and wrong, in my eyes as long as the family signs off on it and approves of it then it’s fine, you’re right that we can’t ask the dead guy but that’s what their family is there for, to be their voice, if they don’t then no. You can try to invalidate my argument all you want but in the end of the day you’re the one offended when the family itself doesn’t care, if they do care they need to come out and say something and sue them to get rich or richer, then you can be offended for them.

That's not what the movie was about, it wasn't a movie about showing off their rich history, but if they did they'd have more than just Batman and Superman. Keanu Reeves Constantine, Lynda Carter Wonder Woman, various Swamp Things, I could go into all the DCEU characters which are varied and rich, but that would be giving your argument too much credibility, the fact is Marvel films don't have as much of a rich history across as DC did, Marvel movies started being good in the 90's with Blade, DC movies started being good in the 60's with Batman, and perhaps even earlier for George Reeves version (didn't actually hear if those were good or not) we also have Steel(not good, but important) Jonah Hex(also not good) the Green Lantern movie(underrated, it's not a masterpiece, but it didn't have any glaring flaws to me, it's just an average movie.) V from V for Vendetta, the Watchmen, although those last two are disconnected from the DC universe. If we brought in more tv show characters than we'd have all the Arrowverse characters, an old Shazam, an old flash from the 90's, Titans and Doom Patrol, and don't even get me started on animated.

I get what The Flash was TRYING to do by showing how all the previous versions of DC characters are long-lasting and worth celebrating forever. It was also cool seeing Reeve alongside Helen Slater’s Supergirl because we never got to see them share the screen together. However, while I can look past the wonky CGI in most instances because Muschietti’s direction is lively, it feels kinda icky with Christopher Reeve because it looks so uncanny. It’s clear in that instance that his Superman is just a puppet and it’s odd. If they utilized archived footage or just a still like for George Reeves and Adam West it would’ve felt less wrong because it’s basically a picture. It only really works well for Nic Cage’s Superman because he’s still alive and it was fantastic getting to peak into a movie that could’ve been.
Edit: I just watched Filmspeak’s review of The Flash (which was very well made) and he made a take on the CGI cameos that made me think of them differently and makes it feel smarter and purposefully weird. He proposed that The Flash is an anti-nostalgia story, which utilizes things from the past to show why trying to revive dead things only leads to bad things. He said it made him feel gross, but it might’ve meant to because the whole movie is saying that trying to relive the past is a BAD thing. Keaton’s in the film, sure, but he is destined to DIE as a result of Barry’s nostalgia clouding his logic. I think there’s basis for it too, because during that scene, we see that every universe has a Flash who ends up destroying it. Sure we see Reeve and Slater, West, Reeves, and Cage, but the tone of the scene is intense and dark and it ends in their worlds colliding and crumbling. Barry’s desire to relive the past and destroying all the worlds is indicative of how movies have been trying to “resurrect” so many films, characters, franchises, actors, etc. I’ll have to watch it again under this new lense, but that is honestly plausible.

yeah, I kind of like the deep cut of george reeves superman and also showing him with his own jay garrick but just use a still image of him from that time, not only would it look less uncanny and be cheaper, but also less disrespectful. Also why couldn't they do a grant gustin or john shipp cameo instead, you know, the other 2 most famous flash actors who are still alive.
The peek into superman lives was cool, but honestly they could've done something much cooler by making him apart of the flashpoint timeline with keaton, with the actual cage, especially since both moves would've been directed by burton
Edit: An even better basis for that interpretation is how batman seems to be a known, mythological figure in the flashpoint timeline, so flashpoint barry doesn't want to let his bruce go, constantly reliving the "epic-ness" of their team up.
