    On an interview, CMO stated that the OS of the devices is going to be open-source, at a later stage. Anyone with coding skills will be able to inspect what his/her device is actually doing and how it works. That is some good news to hear.👌 Anyone who wants to do illegal activities must be stupid to do it through a device that logs every connection and can be shared at any moment with everyone, authorities and online

      My first concern was connecting this device to my computer and my network, bcs I dont know what is this device doing behind the scenes, knowing that in the future I will be able to "control" the software, makes me want it.

      Deeper doesn't keep any of the information as it's peer-to-peer encrypted. You have the option to blacklist as many sites as you want and also can disable features like torrenting while people are connected to your network. You can also download the logs on your device if you want to prove anything.

      @@yafreakinway7375 There are controls in place to help prevent others from using your device for certain activities such as torrent blocking, adult content blocking, and blacklisting features. There are logs to disprove any wrongdoing of the owner of the hotspot if the need arises. Blacklisting will be able to block websites as well. There are some websites existing on blacklist by default, and you can simply fill in the domains on a txt file and upload it to the black list page to block additional ones any time. so explain that then. straight from their website.

      Actually, each device is its own server. All your private data remains secure on your device. Hard Questions:
    1. Am I as the the host up now liable for what other people are using my network for? (Could be seen as an accessory in some cases)
    2. I can’t imagine internet providers have not already added clauses that would make this sorta use a breach of contract.
    3. What are the security implications that are associated with opening up my network or using others ? Could I get the network host collect data from those who are using their network ?

    • @CalebPearsonOfficial
      @CalebPearsonOfficial 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @yafreakinway7375 2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      You have the option to blacklist as many sites as you want and also can disable features like torrenting while people are connected to your network. Deeper's constantly adding to a global blacklist so that people won't be able to use your network for anything bad. You can also download the logs on your device if you want to prove anything. Since it's point-to-point encryption, when others utilize your network, they cannot see anything on your network at all.

    • @ActionCrypto
      @ActionCrypto 2 ปีที่แล้ว +16

      1. Technically yes, but there are safety measures put in place to prevent this.
      2. ISP has no way of determining if you're the one watching Netflix or someone in another country.
      3. You will NOT be opening your network, the device only shares data outside your network. In fact it does the opposite, it creates more security by filtering out malicious attacks. WIN-WIN

    PRIVACY ALERT: This product, while innovative, raises plenty of questions without solid answers. If you connect to one of the nodes, it logs all traffic and because its open source, someone with a bit of technical knowledge can monitor your traffic (or all traffic connected to that node). You can also run network captures to potentially identify and monitor traffic. Deeper may have taken care about this to some extent, however, I would NEVER feel comfortable connecting to a node hosted by some random person. I would rather be happy to use centralized VPN services (with my own private encrypted DNS) who can be accountable or auditable - with Deeper, you cannot audit or verify any of the users hosting a node and that is a BIG concern for me. If I don’t want to use a centralized VPN, I will host my own VPN servers in the cloud - its really easy and cheap. These are just my thoughts, you are welcome to agree or disagree! :-) Peace \m/

    If you are using a VPN to access geo-restricted content, this works better as the providers are unable to block the IP addresses as they aren't VPN server company addresses. The biggest issue with the company itself is its lack of communication with its customers. I'm still trying to get a tracking number for my last purchase from them which was supposed to have been shipped over a month ago. When I bought an older version from them shipping was delayed by several months, but they wouldn't actually tell anyone what the status was. Be forewarned, expect to have a long wait if you buy from them.

Your daily reward will then be determined by the amount of DPRs you’re staking. Also, at this point in time, there are only a few platforms which support the trade of DPR.

    It's amazing how marketing something as "decentralized" in tech communities like this has melted people's brains. I hope people learn that Web 3.0 and blockchain tech are not automatically better ways of organizing society and are much more destructive than current systems, even though current systems are pretty bad. Banks are bad, but blockchain and crypto is worse and controlled by the same VCs and bankers on Wall Street that tanked our economy in the past.

      Your IPs appear masked on other nodes. Yet, these masked nodes protect you in case a bad actor uses your IP for malicious acts as it can prove it wasn't your IP which carried out nefarious acts. You can also create or upload blacklists for your IP and turn off BitTorrent! Also, as for the blacklist web filter, blacklist wildcard will be added to the next firmware update which will boost the blacklist performance.
