    Hi josh. I just wanted to say thanks for taking the time to reply to my comment. Feedback is important as I know channels like yours put in alot of hardwork producing these videos. I have only had a smartphone for just over a year,a S10. I'm of a generation who didn't grow up with computers and have always struggled to grasp the technology which is why it took me so long to summon up the courage to get one. I must say i am most impressed. I have come along way in 12 months. But confidence still eludes me at times which is where channels like yours come into their own. I am especially grateful to the S10 tutorials and found your Google authenticar and password manager videos most interesting. Please pass on my thanks to all your colleagues in the technology videos space for all the help and guidance given. With out them people like myself would have found learning much more difficult.
    Kind regards, Robert lang.

    Just started using Mysterium and because it does not use data centre ip addresses it is the only vpn that i have ever used that does not get Geo-blocked by any media companie as it uses residential ip addresses.. no email address
    required just a bitcoin payment and it worked first time on my linux system. This is one of the scenarios that bitcoin was created for, so well done Mysterium and well done bitcoin.

    Hello Josh. Would be great to see an update on this since it's been 2 years and you said that some key features were under development. Also for another video idea, maybe you could talk about tor over VPN vs VPN over tor. Thanks.

    1. do i need to buy a vpn to use Mysterium
    2. i know you mentioned you have multiple vpns does Mysterium serve as a all in one or does having other vpns/dvpns apart from Mysterium serve some benefit
    3. lets say you can use only one vpn/dvpn what would that be
    thank you would love to see an update on Mysterium

    Could the user of my node see my network traffic or devices connected to that node? What are all the security controls on my node? Also if I use someone else's node can they trace back my connections?
    The problem I see with this idea is that the user's traffic is going to unregulated/undocumented networks that could leave users with many unknowns.
    This essentially adds another devil to the mix between choosing an ISP, VPN, or random strangers network.

    • @AllThingsSecured
      @AllThingsSecured  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes, which is why you need to be very careful about how you run a node. Most services like this will give you the option to only choose “white label traffic”, which is considered safe.

      One of my big questions, how do we know some random node in the network isn't run by a TLA, and siphoning data? Or at least addresses and data quantities for encrypted connections. With TOR it's taken for granted that some nodes may not be trustworthy, and no single node knows the whole picture.

If a person was at a hotel using the hotel's wi-fi, and they wanted to do a transaction on ebay, their bank, or something else that would mean their password/login, credit card information, etc., would be transmitted to the other end, would using a VPN make that private information safe? You are correct, you need to consider liability. Thankfully, with Mysterium you can select to have only "white traffic" through your node, meaning only stuff like Facebook, Netflix, etc. that definitely aren't illegal.

    Josh, thanks for the awesome channel and sharing info about Mysterium. I've been using it for a couple of weeks now. I'm new to VPNs though and am wondering how to confirm that traffic is being routed over the secure connection and what happens when the connection drops? Mysterium has disconnected without me noticing and then I suddenly realize I'm exposed.
    Would you be willing to help us newbs ensure our traffic is routing over the VPN and teach us how to force all traffic across the VPN? It sounds like other VPNs use features called a "kill switch" or "network lock".

    • @AllThingsSecured
      @AllThingsSecured  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the feedback! In terms of privacy, though, I think these nodes are similar to Tor nodes in that they can't piece together the information about who sent what where, so even if a node wanted to invade your privacy, it would be pretty darn hard, if not impossible.
