Awesome review! It answered every question I had about the product and raised and answered some I hadn't even thought of. I'm seriously considering the Deeper Connect and this review told me almost everything I needed to know. One question I had was regarding battery consumption when connected to your laptop. How much power did it draw from your battery, and how much did it affect your battery life? I'm now a new subscriber, thanks, Dan! Also, your idea of creating a mini-stand by deploying the antennas was spot on and so obvious, I was really surprised the Deeper engineers hadn't thought of it.
Thanks! Honestly, I didn't even notice a difference in my laptop battery usage. The device is pretty doesn't use that much power. Officially it says it uses 2w of power, but I'm not sure over how long a time period.

That’s a great design idea to have a longer antenna to create a kind of mini stand.

What if I want to connect it to a wifi router then directly to my PC to use ethernet. Is it possible?
I've just gotten the PICO and had a difficult time connecting wirelessly because initially it would just flash red. I had to first connect to the Modem/Router thru the Ethernet connection to the PICO and since it now established a connection I can do the wireless feature. Even thought the PICO is flashing red I can connect to it the choose which wi-fi signal I wanted to connect with afterwards it turned a steady blue.
Does this reduce your ping for playing games ?
The main issue is the fear that my connection will be used for illegal purposes and that I'll be held responsible.
Apparently there is an option to not share your bandwidth so this can be avoided
Want to know if I’m thinking this right?
So I can just plug up the Device to A power Bank and use the WiFi service the Deeper Air connect has ?
Or I must connect the Deeper Air to Another WiFi service and then I can have the free WiFi safe travel experience?

Hello mate. It's a great review thank you. I'm actually planning to buy the Pico version. I have one question about it. Does the Pico version also have the same web interface? Can we disable it from the admin page or can we add different locations? Thank you.
Oh and one more question :) I know the Pico one has a 100mbit Internet Speed limit and 200mbit Internet Speed limit with a Dual WIFI Antenna. But what about if you're using it completely wired between your modem and router? What is the speed going to be between them? I know the internet bandwidth limit will be limited to your Router speed limit but what about the speed between the modem and the router when connected with the USBC-Ethernet cables coming in the box?
You mentioned using TH-cam, does this hardware with built in ad blockers help to reduce ads from TH-cam, especially if you are using a Roku device for your TV and don't have the ability to use a 3rd party browser

Yup, it just needs power so you could connect it directly to your laptop.
Hi Dan, Can you please comment on the connection in the Hotels where normally require not only password to login but also your room number and your last name to verify. So in this scenario, is there any problems to use in the hotel? Thank you so much!

What if you have Ethernet cable and no wifi? I thought the USB-C connector on it was for both power and connection? I run Ethernet and backed this project so hopefully when I get it I can actually use it
Unfortunately I don't think it's going to work...but I would check with the team. There are other devices made by Deeper Network that fully support an Ethernet connection.
I can see this device is almost the same side as the Pico, the difference I see is that you do not requiere an ETH port to connect your device. This is totally wireless connection, I am assuming you only have to ensure your device is powered.

You can use a USB C power brick. That's what I use and I have it plugged in all the time

Thanks! No subscription required. You just buy the device and then you choose your location and can switch among IP. But you'll also be sharing your wifi connection with the network.
Even though is doesn't require a cord, it current design 'flaw' almost requires one if used on a laptop or other devices affected by its form factor.

I hope it doesn't suffer from the same fate of the Pico causing it to periodically (daily-ish) require power-cycling the device due to it 'locking-up'..
I had that too with the Pico and I think that was due to overheating. In the video you'll see that my Pico is taped to a metal rail of a shelf. That's been helping displace the heat so I haven't had any issues with it since.
alright I finally got this figured out. I had to disconnect the wallet and re connect it to make it work...this is sooooo confusing and so much work that is limited. this is why i want to sell my DPR and both of my DPR devices. I don't even use the devices at they are intended. one unit has a 400+ credit score and the other has a 600+ credit score. Do you want to purchase it?

It gets hot, but it hasn't burned out. I've had this plugged in behind my TV for about 5 months now.

And, the "tunnels" you showed in your example. Three per region doesn't seem like many.
Unfortunately stopped functioning after a few weeks. Support not helpful, misses emails, long to respond and not adhering to their warranty. Its a shame because overall a good product.

Good point. I am sure the device will be fine though. I have an OPPO mobile phone that heats up and has lasted for years, and ASUS computers that get hot and survive for long periods.

Doesn't this expose your ip to others to use? So if that person does anything illegal it's on your ip!
