I was also there, I was an intern photographer for kmet Los Angeles and had an all access pass for metal day. Not only did Triumph play a blistering set, but they were all genuinely great guys. I saw them at an earlier concert where they opened up for journey, Blue oyster cult and Aldo Nova was the first band to play. It was a better lineup for Triumph to be in that was a great concert also.

Back then was more about creative process
    Back then the music felt
not so much about dollar signs
but in the interest of humanity
    whereas people
whether or not going through times
    always felt connected
    regardless of circumstances
music brought magic of understanding to those willing to listen
    the message of souls
we're not alone in this experience that is life
    Alas today
it would seem most souls have been hollowed out of the message
    replaced with managed creativity
and in my opinion loses essence
therefore art is no more than a named brand
how best to lure 'em in on a hook
as the manufactured sounds like music
    with a typical message
    profit
Not to say the world is entirely devoid of meaningful music
as that you'll be fortunate to listen to 'em
should they be heard above ground
    main stream
