Bamboo is different. he's unique. he even has his particular way of pronouncing words...prolly because he has a twang. i think he lived in the US for a while (or grew up in the US, i don't know). there's no one like him in our music industry. in his early years as a vocalist of Rivermaya, he struck me as eerie or weird...because of the way he sings and performs. he can really hype people up. i loved him even more when he became one of the judges in The Voice Kids, alobg with Lea Salonga, Sarah G and Apl de Ap of Black Eyed Peas.
he and his former band called Rivermaya had this very popular song called 214. pls check it out...and maybe try to fund out what 214 means...😁 😁 😁

This song very symbolical to us Filipino...
It talks about breaking the Monarchy vibe of the current Republic... whereas those people who belongs to the lower sector of our society tends to be set aside from their basic rights to a decent life.... while rich people enjoying all the benefits like justice, opportunity of achieving dreams and the like by exerting a much less effort..
it also tells hope for the less fortunate.
Pero to clear up lang being rich and having those advantages against others isn’t bad. I mean they are born with it

If SK has KPop, I'm highly proud to say PH has its own ROCK ERA in the 80s to early 2000's. The artistry of that time is PHENOMENAL! The lyricism is downright poetry, the musicality is globally competitive. I personally take pride the I grew up listening to OPM ROCK and still loving it.
Bamboo is one of the best artists in this era, his lyrics are so so moving and emotionally charged that it leaves listeners into introspection. You should check out TATSULOK (talks about political power play), MR CLAY, THESE DAYS, WAR OF HEARTS & MINDS, all from Bamboo! Also, when Bamboo performs, it's always intense! Not to mention the rest of the band, who are practically the best instrumentalists in the country.

Bamboo is the biggest rock performer in the Philippines but he is so humble and personable.
I have had the opportunity to direct him in a couple of shows where he was a guest performer. I interacted with him for just a few hours each time but even if the shows were years apart he always still remembers who I am.

You should react more to him. He is an icon in the Philippines. One of the unique voices in the country. Such a vocal pride. Most of his song are kind of political and eye opening. He's a genius.

this was released when i was in HS... the time when OPM ROCK BAND SCENE is at its peak, after that generation, the OPM BAND! not just the BANDS but the entire OPM SCENE has been stagnant! nobody writes their songs anymore, singers like morisette, jona, budhakhel, katrina, darren, etc etc those great artists are just exclusively doing COVERS AND RENDITIONS ... nobody writes ORIGINAL FILIPINO MUSIC anymore, and those who does basically has 1 topic! LOVE LIFE! no matter what it is, a duo, a rap group, a band, a solo artist, a group, etc etc etc they all do LOVE SONGS which for me, SUCKS! because OPM USED TO HAVE A WIDE ARRAY OF SUBSTANCE! FRIENDSHIP, FAITH, FAMILY, DAILY LIFE, LOVE(of course) and JUST RANDOM... but now! OPM is exclusively focusing in LOVE more specifically about CHEATERS, BEING CHEATED ON, & LOVING UNCONDITIONAL.
