You probably remember the old glamorous times: Lana Turner, Ava Gardner, Gene Thierney.... And now you look around you and see: Megan Three Stallion, Madonna and her creepy daughter Lourdes... People don’t write long love letters any more, just a quick “Hi! LOL!” on their cellulars. Mom told me that in the old days “going on a date” meant: meeting the boy near the metro and go for a walk in the Park... and talk about school and projects. And that’s it! From innocent movies like “A Patch of Blue” to “them” Sam Smith dancing in red woman’s underwear at the Grammys. At least you remember the good old times...

I read everyone’s kind words of affirmation and love, it’s really the only thing keeping me going. Thank you. To any stranger reading this; I hope you feel at peace, I hope tomorrow brings you joy, I hope that you can see the person you love, To wake up and know that you belong here. Don’t give up. Out of billions and billions of cells that form together to develop into you, that is a miracle not to be wasted! Go the nearest shelter and volunteer for the day helping others and you will feel great!! Try it! I still do it and my life became a dream I'm actually living in! I cut hair for mission services for free in London Ontario in Canada, my life was absolute shit and giving to others changed me!! Just try it! You have nothing to lose!! You are worth that! Help others!!! It really works!!!

My Grandfather (1920-1994) was a WW2 veteran in the South Pacific campaign. I remember him listening to this music when we would visit him. The stories and photos he had were just incredible!!! He passed in 1994 in my early 20s. Whenever I hear this era of music it gives me the fondest of memories of him. I was so fortunate to know my great-grandfather as well (1897-1992 and a WW1 veteran) and his stories were just as amazing. I sure do miss those days when they were on this earth, but I'm blessed to have the wonderful memories.

Always hear a song that will bring a smile, a warming memory of my parents dancing in the kitchen, my mom always had car radio on and sang along. Widowed at 66, now 70 this music is often cathartic in whatever manner, when sounds of trombones, clarinets, trumpets! Bring on the swing!!!❤

As a 22-year-old, I used to listen to Jazz, Swing, and Ragtime music whenever I could get the chance when I was younger. I can't help but imagine what life was like during the 1900s. The Evolution of Music through the 1900s alone is just phenomenal. Even though Art Deco has lost its popularity, before the Mid-Century era began, its impact has forever left its mark on the skyscraper scene and the Music and *Art* scene. There's just something about that era that's....Timeless to me. I'm glad that people are recognizing how amazing that era truly was, and the return of Art Deco just makes it even more reminiscent. Today's music is no match for the beauty of that era, and I mean every word.

I listened to a lot of swing and jazz with her and grew up watching movies like The Rear Window, The Birds, Charade, Breakfast at Tiffany's, etc. I didn't even realize these were "old" movies and "old" songs until I got older. Whenever I hear swing music, it reminds me sitting in my grandmothers kitchen and listening to these songs with her on her record player while she cooked dinner. Now that think about it, I think those movies definitely had an impact on my personality because they've instilled some of the better values from era in me at a young age.

Like I said to the gentleman on top of the comments: in the old days “dating” meant meeting her boy near the metro and go for a walk, then maybe buy an ice-cream (if they had the money), and go to the park and talk about school and projects. Then in the late 60’s everything changed...! (The hippies era). Books like “How to talk about sex to your children” appeared. Sexual revolution full speed.. ! Then it kind of “calmed down”, I remember the 80’s as the best time ever. Internet did not exist and who cares! We sent faxes! After year 2000 things began to change... Right now all I see is selfies, duck face and the word “lol”.

And a professor in England lost his job because the called a girl “GIRL”. She identifies as a boy (or a dog), she complained, and he got fired. Men masquerading as women can now join women spa, women’s jails and compete with women in sports. A man masquerading as a woman (“Melody Wiseheart”) can shower with little girls and the Swimming Club’s administration says nothing. G - ays can now go naked during “Prides” the police is not allowed to arrest them. You are so right! Also, if anyone thinks dance classes are only for the young, I discovered Lindy Hop after 40. lol. Had a blast and met so many wonderful people. Check out a Lindy Hop/Swing dance class in your area..notice that everyone is smiling.

Какие славные были времена! Женщины в шляпках, с локонами, в изящных платьях... мужчины в шляпах и костюмах! Грустно, что все изменилось, и по улицам ходят настоящие чучела -- без образа и красоты... грустно!!!

The image of the girl does evoke a sense of nostalgia and a desire to experience that world. Sometimes, vintage aesthetics can be quite captivating. 📷✨🌟

We share your sentiment about the timeless charm of those magnificent big orchestras and the musicians who created such beautiful music. It's true that the era of these orchestras has passed, but their legacy lives on in the hearts of those who appreciate their artistry. Let's continue to cherish and remember the joy they brought us through their music. 🎺🎷🎶

It's wonderful to hear comments like yours from Europe. I agree. And our troops took that music with them as they joined the Allied fight to rid europe of the Nazi curse.
It still makes me sad of all the millions of lives lost and the suffering.
And from a musical perspective, the loss of Glenn Miller also brings tears to my eyes.😢
