Been doing my own thing for over 30 years, and it always works. I'm seconds, and I mean it as I have help people.
Grab a half a cup of water. While standing bend over half way. Turn your cup the opposite way around a drink slowly. You will notice in a couple of seconds that your annoying hiccup has gone.
    It never failed.
Remember to drink the opposite way when bent over.

I've actually discovered a simpler way to combat hiccups. I'm a RN and I've insert a NG tubes. With this process, the patient has to put their chin down so you put the tube into the stomach and not the lungs. Same process when you have the hiccups. Try to get a cup with a straw, and drink water with your chin tucked down to your neck. It works for me every time.

Well, this is the best technique to get rid of a hiccup.
Fill a glass with water, and do the following:
Take 9 little sips of water one after the other WITHOUT BREATHING. Works best if you are standing.
Also, you should reconsider drinking carbonated soft drinks and beverages while you are sitting on a really low sit like a low couch or something like that. Big gulps of carbonated drinks lead to a sudden rise of pressure in the stomach area and pusses the diaphragm upwards which in turn pusses the lungs and we feel the HICCUP.
You should remember that if you have a hiccup your diaphragm is flexed in the wrong direction. Then your goal is to reverse the flexing to the normal direction.
Basically, a hiccup is a cramp of the diaphragm.

I learned something similar and it always worked. With mouth closed, inhale through your nose then swallow. Don't open your mouth or exhale. Wait a sec, do it again. Then a third time. It will become increasingly harder to swallow, but the action of muscling through it requires the vagras nerve to cooperate.

Man, I'm so glad that trick worked on the first try. I can't believe such a simple thing could stop something so complex and internal.
It stopped for now, but let's see how long it lasts. I've been dealing with this problem all day.

I was having hiccups for hours. So painful I couldn't stand it. Every method I tried didn't work, but after doing this breathing exercise it stopped IMMEDIATELY. I just could not believe it. Thank you so much!
