  • Hi everyone,
in this new video series I will be tackling a custom build of the High Grade Zeta Gundam. This whole series will consist of a total of 8 videos over the course of the next months in which I will be building the Zeta.
During the process I try to implement all the techniques that learned over the last couple of months. Adding minus molds, new panel lines, scribing, etc. and dive into completely new at the end: adding colors with airbrush.
I hope you find something useful that you can use in your custom builds as well.
Please remember to sub, like and comment if you enjoyed this video. It would help me a lot, thanks :)

gah I thought this is a new video or something, considering the video quality I think this deserve more attention

Haha, I think customizing videos of that sorts are not that popular? I'm not sure. Maybe my SEO was not good enough for the algorithm to pick up. BUT: I'm editing the next video as we speak. I hope to be able to release it by the end of next week :)

Great vids ! When your painting gunpla, do you mask off the rubber like joint parts or moving partS or maybe if possible take them out? , as I’ve tried to paint up a few and the primer and paint dont stick to the joint parts well and kinda makes a mess. I’m very used to painting miniatures (Warhammer and such)

I get what you mean. I prime all the parts including the rubber like joing parts (the polycaps). The primer stick very well to the plastic and serves as a base. Give it a try :)

Great video! I just started customizing Gunpla (did my first kit this month) and I still have a lot to learn. Your videos helps a lot!

Hey Douglas, thanks a lot. That's great to hear, we're in the same boat then. Good luck on your journey :) Which kit did you choose to customize?

@@GiantRobolove I started with the Graze Custom II Ryusei-Go. I did some panel scribing (a lot of learnings), then painted in black and green with acrylics, finishing with a light gray color for the panel lining. I had a lot of trouble in all the steps and I am not happy with the result, but it was my first and I really learned a lot from it. Now I am moving to the 1/144 Astaroth. I am going to start playing with PLA plates, that's why your video helped a lot with ideas.

That sounds good though. The learning process is very satisfying. I can see why you picked the Graze. It has a lot of flat surfaces for panel lining. I'm currently watching IBO for the first time. Maybe then I'll understand why the Barbatos is such a popular kit 😅

Can you tell me the name of the song playing at 23:09 sec in?

    • @GiantRobolove

If you're talking about the song at the very end, it's called Slump by Dylan Sitts.
