I suggest coating the casted object with a thin layer of Vasoline so it doesn't stick to the casting material. This will make it easier to pop it out of the mold.
Don't have any of the materials but I'll definitely use this video 🙏 Missing a tip piece of the wing on my rg god and it just feels weird to see one bit missing 😭
Im also using this method for an rg kit. I lost one of the 2 tiny torso parts from an ms06f zaku my bestie gave me, and i pray i can duplicate the one a9 part i still have.
I've done Oyumaru Recast a lot with Putty. It's a good way to replicate part in a cheap way... but you need a bit of precision and patience to get the best result.
my store always always always asks to check the box for you, yours shouldn’t have a problem with you checking either. nothing worse than coming home with a new set to find out you’re missing a piece mid build lol
if you want it to become even stronger, simply put some brass or stainless steel wire/rod inside and you now have a part that is as strong as the replacement parts made of metal but cheaper
I'll try this out, just waiting for the epo putty to be delivered, trying to replicate the inner frame for the Shining Break so I can use the excess parts. Salamat sa vid.
Thanks for the tutorial, sir! By the way, what's the reason behind using clay for the bottom half cast instead of the oyumaru itself? I mean, wouldn't it be faster if we start directly using oyumaru?
Does thermoplastic works?.. its a moldable plastic just like oyumaru.. I cant find Oyumaru on my country.. found on shopee and lazada but too expensive 😅😅
Yes can.. same process.. only the difference is instead resin, melt runner is more challenging by applying in oyumaru mold .. and it takes 2-3days curring time
I been searching this idea for a while. The kit I have is kinds expensive and can't afford to buy more. I want to make duplicates of this kit before it is assembled. This is for my own personal use and not to be sold or anything ( yes I am adding a disclaimer on this) would this process work on the parts as they are when you first open a box?

This tut yields the best results so far for this level of easiness.

Did it ever work?
Thanks man! Big help!!
Thanks bro hehe 😁👌
Is Epoputty solid like plastic or grainy like cement?
It is solid plastic! Let the putty cure well! 1day or 2days
@@jllahobby Been looking for answers for a week now, thank you man!
Its very brittle tho
Use thermoplastic ,way harder and faster to use
@@otei1780 what do you mean by thermoplastic? That can mean a lot of things.

I'll try it already but the finish product is better when you used clay every detail will be copied almost perfect

Hey man i was wondering how do you clear out the excess resin putty and mind sending me the link or product info for the resin putty you used? Thanks
Does it have the same durability with the gunpla material?
Yes .. more close to the 3d printed plastic
Bro does thermo plastic works on Oyumaro mold?
What’s the best way, to clean out the excess?
I forgot to take a video for cleaning excess, I only use hobby knife to clean
@@jllahobby sounds good Thank you.

Can i use playdoh instead of clay?
that oyumaru was rock hard when dry or still squishy?
Will DAS clay work instead of oyumaru to serve as the mold imprint? That and also epoxy putty for the actual gunpla part.
Clay ? I think no because you need force to intact the putty so make it solid
clean the parts, magic lol
Haha I skipped that part, I forgot to take a video hehehe .. but the result was good 😁👌
Very informative. San ka nakabili nung plastic na yellow at penk.😁
Thanks hehe, Oyumaru ..As of today out of stock na sya pero etu yung link ng shop na binilhan ko .. shp.ee/9uj7i4x
