You left out one of the biggest secrets in the entire game: If you manage to fail the Shivers roll to figure out where Ruby is hiding the second time around, despite all the bonuses from doing the sidequests, you unlock an entirely new questline involving calling the gearhead radio station Kim is a fan of. Probably the least seen secret in the entire game despite how involved the quest is.
@@dduuddeechil It took me so long to find it that I was playing Jamais Vu when it finally happened... so I assumed it was part of that update, though it may not have been.
In the communist quest, while talking to Cindy about communism, if you specifically pick the dialogue option about sending people to the "meat grinder", with high enough Espirit de Corps, you get a lengthy flash-sideways scene of Mack Torson and Chester McClaine talking about microwaving sausage in the precinct break room and the risks of using a bottle of mustard they took from a hobo
There is a very interesting moment, if you go with cuno to the island and had previously done the moralist questline. There you notice (dont remember which skill) that something "is wrong" because Kim doesnt say his line which goes like "Its cold outside". You hear him saying this in the moralist questline at the time of the disturbances caused by the pale which foreshadowed the future. A very nice detail which again shows how precise the devs worked on this game.
The fact they accounted for players who do most of the moralist quest and don’t follow it through is one of my favourite things about this game, there are quite a few cool things which rely on you leaning towards moralist, including the famous “DETECTIVE. ARRIVING. ON THE SCENE”
On my first playthrough, I ended up deducing during the autopsy that the bullet was coming from far, far away, probably off the mainland. I don't know if it was intentional (knowing them, it probably was), but the wound makes sense! When you inspect the bullet, it describes how it's military grade, not soft-shell. And that struck me as super odd, considering there wasn't an exit wound for such a powerful bullet- it had been stopped by the inner skull. So it couldn't have been close-range, or even mid-range, because a jacketed bullet would have obliterated the head. Couldn't have been an altered, gentler gun or even sling-shot, because there wouldn't be enough force to have the bullet fracture like it did. How is it here then? Eureka, it must have been shot at such a long distance that the wind slowed its velocity! I can't describe how great it felt when B"' ended up being right :D
While I'm not certain, I bet this is one of Evrart's spies that he had keeping tabs on Harry and Joyce over the course of the week we play. They must have been caught off-guard by the fact that Harry managed to notice them, but upon realizing their cover wasn't completely blown, decided to mess with him instead, hence the "eyes everywhere" line and how much they know about Harry already.
The "using the motor carriage" dialogue option is linked to succeeding the passive Savoir Faire skill check right before. You need at least 4 Savoir Faire to get that. Very cool video btw!

That visual calculus secret was actually insane. I'm too far baked to understand it really but its insane how much that skill was working overtime. I've never built Harry invested in Visual Calculus but what a damn cool skill
According to Fayde conversation viewer the game checks for the Variable "yard.hanged_savoir_climb_the_tree" = true. This variable is set when the game says "Savoir Faire: An acrobatic manoeuvre would solve this situation. Nothing can go wrong with a good *manoeuvre* " . Which requires 4 points in Savoir Faire to prompt.
the misterious pair of eyes is titus isnt it? it sounded like the same voice, lines were similar to stuff titus would say, it would makes sense considering the eyes would be keeping an eye out on the merc disguised as a scab, it also connects with how titus only appears after day 1 and the misterious pair of eyes only can be seen on day 1
It’s the same VA but I don’t think it’s necessarily meant to be Titus. The 9 threshold stat checks seem to be little rewards for players who have gone that deep on one stat. This one to me is a nod that everyone seems to have eyes on the harbor and your perception is so high you can actually see and interact with the conceptual “eyes”
As funny as that is, I can't imagine Titus being all sneaky and weird. Some other Union member.. or Ruud? He swore in that skavenesque speak like Ruud. "Fuckshit." "Pigfuck."
I was quite annoyed by succeeding at the visual calculus check before meeting Ruby and not being able to investigate the islet after checking points B' and B''.
I tried to follow a good 100% walkthrough on steam for this gem, but I kept experiencing text box freezes that soft locked the game, glad I get to see this content.
@@gimpscam9976 I tried to look up how to fix it, I cant even get past talking to measurehead without the game freezing after he walks off screen, and I cant talk to the guy on the balcony. Seems like it was some update that caused the glitch, but it doesn't look like it'll be fixed.
I'm surprised how many of those hidden secrets i encountered on my own first playthrough going in blind. all except the eyes and seagulls. guess my detecting was decent.
Maybe I'm late with this, seen it recently with one player who had a terrible luck with Visual Calculus and didn't manage to get the trajectory in Klaasje's bedroom until the tribunal. And then she failed that skillcheck again (with the thread left by Klaasje) which led to a funny moment when Visual Calculus said something like: - screw it, no time for this anymore, you passed 😂 (obviously because without this check you wouldn't know you need to go to the island and softlock yourself). I'm not sure if that's really a secret but still it's funny that even the game becomes tired of failed checks and goes like: You know, f*** it, that's too much even for me 😂
Visual Calculus finally paying off in my playthrough, after a full game of fucking up basically every single Physique/Motorics skillcheck (and missing both the gun and the necktie-bomb), was so powerful. Harry in my game was basically a bumbling (albeit clever! and charming!) fuckup until it finally came time to solve the case (and then the Phasmid scene played out perfectly and I only cried a little bit).
It's kinda funny that despite how precise the writing in this game is, they fudge the orientation of Klaasje's rooftop balcony. If south is straight down her balcony is clearly facing South West with the location B''' bullet trajectory being South West, but the actual location of B''' on the map is North West - you can even see it in the overlay. This confused me at first and had me trying to go further South West that was possible.
It seems the snipersnest was moved? Once I found the spot I checked a few maps and the trajectory seemed to be pretty much perpendicular to the rooftop window. Making it impossible to hit even a few cm inside. I always found it a bit of a plot hole since the shot would have been impossible. But the graphic at 27.30 seems to put the nest on the main bunker. That indeed seems to, just barely, work.
Hmm possibly, it’s always a bit weird trying to line this kind of thing up when using a 2D map for a 3D place, and even more difficult when all you have is an artists impression. I always had the shot as just between the graffiti wall and the yard, very narrow but just about doable.
About the island location in main menu etc. If you read dialogs from multiple characters carefully enough, a lot of them literally say or compare something to that island or any other similar island ruins. Like for example when Joyce Messier randomly spreads her hands, asks what does she look like right now and one of the options to answer is something along the lines "like those island ruins that look like a rotten tooth". Also if you have high enough shivers and inland empire, they always show you insulindian phasmid or this old man (deserter) doing something.
Yeah there are lots of hints directing you to the answer but when you play the first time they’re not always so obvious, when you go back for another run you end up slapping your forehead the whole time 😂
