That’s a genuine game changer you offering to view defenders for customers. Price is really competitive also. Obviously within reasonable travel etc etc. That was probably a highlight of this video for potential new customers.
as for your video, i have an m57 184hp swap with bmw transmission to , its around 240hp now , and my defender is armoured one 2.8t and flies , with 1.0003 gear ratio, m57 all the way friends and remember dont chase HP , even stock 184hp in low range makes it seems like 300.
Unfortunately I'm very busy and what upsets me the most are soul-draining dumb questions that people intentionally ask to annoy me. I started this channel to help like-minded individuals who share a passion for quality parts and how we make it work, etc. Thanks, Dave
@@wearemahker I totally understand and appreciate where you're coming from. The fact that you continue to make Q&A videos tells me how committed you are to your audience 💪👍
It was the armoured Snatch that started off with the V8 Dave, they were later updated and fitted with the 300tdi, the Wolf or XD was always 300tdi, the weapons mount wolf (WMIK) went to the 2.8 tgv version of the 300 as the weight increased. 👍
@@wearemahkerYes, some military Defenders did have the V8, the armoured Snatch and some Rapier missile tractors but the XD Wolf was 300 even though LR had started Td5 production, the military didn't want the Td5's electronics so opted for the simple 300tdi, they did move the spare from the bonnet to the side though as trials showed that the spare could bend the bonnet far enough to hit the injector pipes. I quite like the 300 for it's lack of complication but the sound and refinement of an M57 would be nice. Thanks for the great content 👍
As a BMW and Land Rover enthusiast, I am very interested in this Q&A discussion. I thoroughly enjoy my LHD NAS 2011 BMW X5 (E70) 3.5d M57 and modded LHD NAS LR 2001 Disco 2 Thor V8 here in England. Bit of a pain going through drive throughs as I have to lean all the way across my passenger seat and hang out my right side window to retrieve my goods. 😆 Cheers from a military Yank in Suffolk! 🇺🇸🇬🇧
Dave I'm getting the new defender octa,I've also got a 130 defender P500 can you make this in to an overland vehicle where you sleep inside and not in a roof tent it will be mainly used for the cairngorms and the top 1/3 of Norway so needs to be a cold weather setup?
hi. im base in South Africa ,currently doing the M57 E60 iron block conversion , want ask for the 6HP26 auto conversion ,does it require the transmission computer? or the this straight in to the engine ECU .
Thanks for answering my question. Regards from South Africa!

Do you 'prefer' M57 over a GM V8 for moat cases?
Just to add, fuel cost irrelevant to me as annual mileage under 2500.
