    I like both. When I lived in the Albany Park immigrant neighborhood of Chicago, I always had Tacos al Pastor, Frijoles, and Horchata basically 3 times a week at Mexican restaurants. There was also the occasional Tamales and Churros, just wasn't sure if they were Mexican or Guatemalan; the Spain variety of Churros was rather small. When I studied in Spain, I was addicted to Paella, whether pre-cooked (the type I bought at the grocery with pre-packed ingredients) and had to mix and cook them at my place. Or I just ate the Paella at a restaurant. I also fancied Fabada Asturiana which was light and easy to eat.

    The best food in the world is considered to be French food then it would be Mexican and Third I forgot lol I think it's between Japanese sushi and Italian as the best. Spain has good food too but I would say Mexican food as it's kinda rare to see a Spanish restaurant vs Mexican food being so popular all over the world and is considered by many to be the best food as it is an infussion if Spanish and Native American cuisine creating very rich flavors. French is the hardest most complex food to make which is why it's not always found everywhere lol Mexican food is hard to cook as well because of the amount of prepping and ingredients have to be as fresh as possible otherwise it will taste off.

    Mexican Food!!!!

  • @alexcontreras6103
    @alexcontreras6103 3 ปีที่แล้ว +13

    This is such a dumb comparison people here will obviously be bias. I lived in both places and food in Spain is expensive and the common meal is ok, yes they have Michelin places which cost you an arm and a leg, but honestly I have traveled all over the world and the best food starts with the Street food which Thailand and Mexico destroy everybody in with China, Vietnam and Iran also being amazing. Obviously the quality control in Europe is far higher than in Mexico overall but that comes at a price which is not something that should go against the food creativity which I say Mexico is up there as the top 3 with Japan and Italy. Italy is the best food in Europe and shares many many similar dishes to Mexico like stuff peppers or Chile rellenos, stuff Zucchini flowers or Flor de Calabaza and even Chocolate rabbit or Mole, Bruschetta or pico de gallo etc etc . The thing that makes Mexico so unique is that it's the origin homeland too some of the best flavors and ingredients Vanilla, Chocolate, Tomato, Chile Peppers, Squash, Corn, Avocado etc etc but they use unique things found no where else like Achiote, Tomatillos, Chipotle (other smoked peppers, best marinara I tasted was made with Chipotle), Epazote and many many other herbs and veggies unique too the country. So While the world uses many of the same flavors with different combinations, Mexico uses things nobody else uses in the world which is what makes them so original and unique in my opinion, the problem with Mexico is quality control which Japan and Italy are masters in, but if Mexico was too ever perfect that especially with the diversity of crops and ingredients they have (alot of seafood from Mexico gets exported too Japan and Spain because they pay a premium), they could easily be one of, or the best food in the world.

    • @JopeCrew94
      @JopeCrew94 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Does Mexico export that much seafood to Spain? I had no idea, the times I saw the main fish exporters from Spain Mexico never showed up, it was mostly european countries, Peru and Chile. Spain is also a fish exporter btw, but it always comes down to the variety of fish avaible in your country, you are always going to export/import products even if it is accesible in your country as different species exist due to the variety of biospheres for animals, vegetables and fruits.
      I agree that comparing cuisines is dumb, they are not symmetrical. If you compare rices between spanish and mexican cuisine, in Spain it is usually a dish by itself while in Mexico it is usually a component of a dish. If we compare spicy food between Spain and Mexico, Spain has no chance, same way if we compare stews between Mexico and Spain, Mexico has no chance. One thing that I always found funny is when people say say that spanish food is not spicy, like no shit Sherlock it feels like mexican cuisine balances spicyness with sourness, bitternes and the fat of the protein while Spain takes the mediterranean/muslim approach and cooks balancing spices depending of the protein, vegetable, fruit and sauces that make the dish; that being said most mexicans I meet understand the difference and have the palete to appreciate it, it moslty comes from clueless gringos lol. Btw the stuffed vegetables like eggplant, peppers and such is a spanish influence (in your cuisine) as it is a muslim cuisine dish. Maybe you didnt have the chance of trying it as if it is muslim influenced you probably find it mostly in the south of Spain.
      Street food in Spain is odd as it is incorporated mostly in bares/pubs in the form of tapas. I dont know in which places of Spain have you been but my experience from an andalucian boi is that the rest of Spain is quite expensive compared to Andalucía unless you go to towns or outer neighborhoods of big cities so it makes sense that you find it expensive.

      @VictorLdVS 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sozeverbal If you spend most of your summers in the "untouched by the gringos California" then you should know that saying "viva LA Méjico" is the worst thing you can write or say because it's completely wrong and it makes any Hispanic reader want to reap their eyes of. Also, the fact that you're an US citizen explains why "most of the people" say that Mexican food is the best because in the US you eat very unhealthy and Mexican food is perfect for your food standards because it's mostly fried stuff but more elaborated than US food and of course that would explain why "most of the people" surrounding you say that the Mexican food is the best (another fact that makes "most of the people" say that the Mexican food is the best is that the US citizens don't know much about food a part from pizzas, tacos and burritos, oh and of course, the hamburger). Also, I bet you haven't tried real Spanish food, not even the shity "paieias" they make in the US, or I'm mistaking? Have you come to Spain and tried our food (not just paella)? If that's the case then you can have an opinion because you have tried both gastronomies.
      Another thing that made me think that you're an US citizen is the fact that you said "latin food", what's that? "Latin"american food which includes Mexico? The latin countries food which includes Italy, Spain, France, Portugal, Romania, Moldova, the latin microstates, and the latin minorities in other European countries? Or the OG latins from the Italic peninsula who were the first people who spoked latin making them the first latins and fathers of the Roman empire?

    • @sozeverbal
      @sozeverbal 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@VictorLdVS Hey colonizer, hate to break it to you, but you're a gringo, cabrón. You're from Spain. Mexican food is not mostly fired food. In the US, we know a lot more food than just pizza, tacos \burritos, and cheeseburgers/hamburgers. The US is a melting pot of cuisines from around the world. It is a fusion of different ethnic food and combing them into a new dish. Like Korean Buffalo Wings.
      Another thing that made you think I was from the US, besides the fact that I clearly stated that I was from the US. I lump all South American, Central America, the Caribbean food as Latin food instead of listing all the different food from each country.
      Chinga tu madre. No, I can have an opinion. We eat with our eyes first. I'm not saying Spanish food is terrible. I'm saying put a bowl of Pozole v Gazpacho. I'll choose Pozole. The same goes with Pollo con Mole over a similar chicken dish. I haven't had dishes from Spain. I don't like pawns/ shrimp or mussels/ clams. But from the looks of the food and the video, I'll need some limes and a lot of hot sauce/salsa.
