You NEVER EVER used filler words when you learned a new language or have you NEVER learned another language before? The filler words will happen with beginners because they are translating to spanish from their native language (likely english), so its a pregnant pause while the mind searched for the proper word & word order. Its virtually unavoidable for beginners.
I would advise learners to avoid these muletillas. They don't sound good or complimentary on native speakers in the first place. God knows what this woman was thinking with this video. 🙄 This video should be titled "how to sound like an inarticulate moron in a second language". 😭

I would just typically say, "What's up? or How is it going? But would spanish speakers say ¿Cómo está yendo? It's kind of like when we sneeze, you might say god bless you. That might not make any sense to a native spanish speaker who might say salud , just meaning health or I wish you good health, which makes more sense.
When asking for something specific it's more common, not so much as a way to say hello. ¿Cómo está yendo la edición? ('How's the edition going?'-you ask if they're struggling with it or everything is going well). Anyways, asking just ¿Cómo va la edición? is also correct and more common
Great video! I had heard most of these, but I didn’t know what many of them meant or where they came from. I have a question about “pues.” My girlfriend completes a phone call with “Ok, pues” when she is talking with one of her sisters. I always assumed that it was a contraction of “después.” Could it just be the filler word instead?
I would be pretty cool if the words in Spanish on screen were the same color as the corresponding word (s) in English...like yellow, white, yellow..etc.

En serio estás recomendando usar muletillas, esto parece subrealista, sonar nativo acaso es sinónimo de hablar incorrectamente o tener vicios del habla. En serio si alguien está aprendiendo a hablar español por favor eviten muletillas es algo que no se escucha bien y es desesperante. De echo en las escuelas de oración te califican negativamente si las usas mucho.
But when one is LEARNING a new language, there is translating in one's head, so the filler words/sounds (muletillas) will be there anyway, because we have to think through our speech more! She was trying to be helpful!

We use este, entonces, pues, bueno, & no? as filler words in Filipino.
One of my Spanish teachers would often say “vamos a ver” (let’s see).
You can also say just "a ver" (which sound similar to "haber", so it can be confusing at first)

It seems like she is saying 'ok then'. Despues means 'after' as you probably already knew, so wouldnt make sense in context.
