    If a game allows you to upgrade your gear then level scaling works because if you find a weapon or armor you like you can keep upgrading it to your level like in assassins creed odyssey the heavy level scaling option works perfectly

      Nice review. I played 80% of the game... I can say.. I love the art, the music... But... Yess... The gameplay is not the best.. The repetition and difficult unbalance and confusing system of weapons... Everything is so disappointingly bad... :(

    I felt like your review was pretty basic in terms of it being a review. A lot of your points boiled down to "if you're like me, then ___" or "if you like ___ then maybe you'll like this", but you never go into detail about the minute to minute gameplay.
    I don't know how complex or simplistic the combos are, if there are any. I don't know the game's difficulty or length of time you played. I don't know how the pretentiousness plays out because you didn't show examples.
    Ya know what I mean? I just learned about this game and was like "cool let me check out what its like" and the only takeaway I got from your review is that it's boring, repetitive, pretentious, etc. But I don't know how.
    I think if you want to improve the quality of your reviews, add extra details that explain what you mean (like "the gameplay is repetitive and not deep bc it lacks complex combos, uses the same 3 enemies every fight, and has no difficulty") and some examples of what you mean.
    Not a bad review at all, but what you said in a 20 minute video could have been easily digestible in a 10 minute format.
    That being said, I appreciate the honesty and the laid back approach. It feels more genuine of a review because of it.
    Best of luck!

    Fixed levels are fine for higher level enemies but with lower level enemies it becomes pointless to fight them, theres no challenge and the loot they drop is worthless, which is why i always played assassins creed odyssey with the heavy level scaling option which just leveled up all lower level enemies to my level, all higher level enemies still remained at their fixed level, that way all enemies will be at least somewhat challenging and drop loot at least at my level so even if its trash loot it will sell at a higher price and yeild more materials for dismantling

    i feel like it's a bit much to say the game is pretentious and "up it's own ass". is it a very deep masterpiece no but like all art it's subjective and not for everyone

      Correct, this is my subjective opinion of its themes and story

    Calling a game pretentious is like worse than a 0/10 for me!! 😂 i felt that in my heart 😂 Good review though, very cool informative

      I appreciate it, and I feel you! There's a way to present the ideas that this game has in a way that makes you feel like the game is smart, and you're learning from it. This game really felt like the whole time it was saying, "We know these Latin/Greek words!" And every concept/character was such an on-the-nose archetype of those words. Not really anything deep or meaningful in any way in my opinion

    Dang well that's disappointing, I mean I still like the asthestic of the game. Althought the worse part about this, is this game will probably spike up in price like Crystar and become a pain in the butt to get trying to wait for a sale... especially that switch version

    Sounds like the game would be better if the storyline elements were just put into a visual novel and the rest was scrapped, or a Story Mode which just totally skips the combat and puzzles.

    • @nunomartins4333
      @nunomartins4333 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      For me the game would better in a turn base rpg mixed with visual novel

    • @mathewhosier9739
      @mathewhosier9739 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Just NO, visual novels aren't even real video games and a waste of time, you need gameplay to be a video game, theres a reason why the word game is in the word gameplay, that would be like removing the story from a book or movie, the combat and progression are the two saving graces of this game, its a RPG for christ sakes, leave the RPGs for the pros and you casuals can go play your visual novels, the only reason I got this game on sale was because of its deep and rich progression, it allows you to build each character the way you want, no its not a great game but it certainly is a good game, I put nearly 80 hours in this hidden gem

      Many visual novels have gameplay and this game was written by a dude who made VNs. Many VNs have better stories than JRPGs.

    I get the impression that most of what was done here was done better in Scarlet Nexus. But it's good to have even more Sci-Fi games.

    Im sorry but if you dont somewhat enjoy the combat and progression in this game i gotta question if you even like RPGs, no its not a masterpiece, but its far from a bad game, i find grinding, leveling and building my characters very addictive and fun, i consider myself a bit of a RPG purist, ill play pretty much anything with leveling, loot, stats and fun gameplay, im a sucker for RPG mechanics, whether its a JRPG, ARPG, CRPG, soulslike RPG, roguelite RPG, 2D RPG, metroidvania RPG, looter RPG or most any kind of RPG, if it has leveling and progression ill at least give it a try, i put nearly 80 hours into this hidden gem, and i dont regret it one bit, i found the leveling, stat progression and equipment systems extremely addicting, i also played crystar back in 2020 on ps4 pro and felt about the same for that game as well, like i said before i mostly play RPGs and play more for the gameplay and progression mechanics

    Can you even call a game with no leveling a RPG at all? Progression is the whole point of the genre, it was never really about role playing

    The demo didn’t sway me. I’m content to sit this one out and chip away at my backlog
