Omg this video just randomly popped up and the voice sounded familiar so I checked the username. I used to watch your TH-cam videos religiously, back when I was first getting into makeup TH-cam! Like 8 9 years ago! I can't believe I found your channel again!
Do NOT use this technique if you have handmade/ essential oil candles. I make me own candles and tried this and the hot water just separated from the wax.:( smelt great tho. Use double broiler method! Thanks for the tips though!!
Damn girl I've been wondering how to get the candle holders clean! Now I know! I was reusing the wax using a torch to melt the outside of the candle and pour the used wax onto a new candle. Thanks for doing this video 😊
Ha - if you have a gas stove with a middle plate (protects from direct flame), you can melt the wax, pour it in another container, clean out the first container, rewick and then start pouring candles to make a new one. Just make sure the scents are within the same scent profile. It takes about 6-7 Bath and Bodyworks candle leftover wax to make a new one.
Hot water makes the essential oils in the wax dissolve with the water and come out when the water is poured into the sink , so the wax remains odorless
@@DramaticMac I'm the same way with candles too, I am a hob goblin. I have around 15 candles from BBW and I typically let the candle burn until it's around a inch (or half inch) and poor the melted wax in a bowl, take a spoon and get the wax that didn't melt while torching the aluminum wix things. I was taken off guard because I have been so used to using heat for cleaning the wax out, heating the left over wax in a bowl then freezing it so it's coherent. Your method is definitely interesting and I have taken a shot at it. Definitely more efficient than what I've been doing ❤️
Put the candle in the freezer for half an hour, then the wax just pops out, no need for hot or boiling water
I’ve least done it this way too. I May try the hot water to see if there’s a difference.
How do you. Like. Get it out? Does it not stick to the bottom anymore?
@@sophiathefurbstit pops out like a wax melt disc easily
@@sophiathefurbst wax doesn't like to mix with water kind of like chocolate amd it'll float to the top.
But when it's frozen, you can't cut it somewhat easily. It seems the room temp wax is easier to cut. 💕
Here I was trying to scrub and scrape off every last bit of wax!! Going to try this or the freezer method asap. No more wasted candles!
😂😂😂 silly! And here I am throwing the finished candles out! Duh me. 😑🤦🏻♀️
@@MyJesusMyEverything
I was too! Now, I keep my used wax melts also. I'll add some candle fragrance to give it new life! 🥰
I use the freezer method. Takes 30 minutes and it pops right out. Repurpose the jar and use the rest as wax melts or make another candle.
will the glass not break?
I’ve broken a very expensive glass bong with pouring boiling water in it. I suggest letting the temp get just a little bit cooler than boiling.
Glass candle holders are made with glass that can handle those hot temperatures
a smoking bong? why would you use boiling water? if you were trying to clean it you should use alcohol (96% or better) and salt.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR POSTING THIS!!❤ IT WAS VERY HELPFUL 😊

Takes 1min to remove with a blunt knife ,wax will crack when cut
Thank you for this video! I also use this method for less or non-scented candles just to not waste the wax.
I like the candle set up, can you kindly share the link?
Ahhh nooo the boiling water can break the glass…not fun. Just put the candle in the freezer and the wax will shrink so you can get it out.
Thanks for this!

I love seeing how we women around the world are crafty and reusing things at home!!!
Pov:melting candle with candle
Thank you!
Yo myatt chyatts trying to get you cancl3d wait for the victor spike lolololol 😜
What do you do when the wax burner stops giving out the smell of the original candle?
True lol
Add essential oil after you remelt the wax. You choose the fragrance. :)
dont do this guys.....wasting that oil that floats is the actual fragrance
Cheers to the og that made all the myapps mmysstttterrrr myattt brrrrrragggg
I love this! Thanks for sharing!!!
Where this wax dish from?
Hot water makes the essential oils in the wax dissolve with the water and come out when the water is poured into the sink , so the wax remains odorless
I don’t think BBW candles use EO
This is all sorts of wrong. Essential oils are just volatile
Best idea x
All that oil on the top is the fragrance oil that you are removing from it. I dont recommend this at all.
Ohhhh no!!! I did it to three of them! Frack!
@JacquelineSPenny
You can remelt the wax and add fragrance after its melted.. Just a thought..
@@cookiemama4how do u add fragrance
@@lanelldorsey702
Add a few drops of essential oils when the wax has cooled down a bit before pouring into molds. 💕
@@cookiemama4 do I have to melt the wax then add oil how many drops do I use Fragrance or essential oil
Very good idea! Thank you!!!
You sound exactly like Half of Carla
I just need to keep this video safe
Can you put a wick in again for another candle
You can put more hot wax and put a wick in,then cool it and there you have a candle!
*uses candle to reuse candle*
Don’t waste a bit 😅

Handy tip...I've got tons of used wax from all the candles I've been burning over the past two days...
@DramaticMac - really like the candle warmer. Where can I get it? Thanks!
Bedded this I have 5 candles I bury down to the nub hate to waste thanks
I did this.
Great tip x
I already did this step but how can I remove the left over smell from it if I don't like it.
Smart,Ty
Does the scent not disappear in the water?
Great idea
So how do you reuse the wax on the wax burner? Is there a way to completely use up the wax?
Why wouldn’t you use ice water
How would ice water melt the wax??
Genius I have so many candle burners so I will deffinately be using this hack in future.
does this work with soybean wax candles too?
The best hack I’ve learnt from the internet!!!! ❤
Cheers girl,perfect 4 Christmas lil present 🎁 👌
