- #POV Street Photography in the snowy streets of Hokkaido. I strap a DJI Osmo action to my chest and wander around taking street photos in Asahikawa. This first person view of street photography is a good way to see how it looks and feels on the street taking photos of strangers.

1:30 "there's a kid bro want to chase them?" what a line to say LMAAOO
So glad I found this series, really does justice to the beauty of Japan
Welcome! Thanks for watching. I'm finally heading back there next week!! More vids to come.
I love how you Connect photography and videography so naturally! We want more!
Thanks for watching Chris. It comes after years of doing both.
pure skill
Thanks. Nice username lol
Your videos are an inspiration.
Thanks Tim! I appreciate it.
Loving the videos dawg, can’t wait to see more
Thanks J. Next episode will be a snowy one.
The transition from photography to videography and "solid gold" in the music background nailed it. Such a fresh touch in the POV street photography videos around…
I came for the EOS R, since it is my camera and I am looking for some inspiration…
Thanx for the content, really enjoyed…new subscriber here.
Thanks for the sub! I used a lot of my fave music in this series so none of the videos are monetised.. worth it though.
Rewatching all your vlog episodes. Favorite pic at 2:48; just beautifuly captured. Have never visited Japan during winter season... Definitely on my 'to do list' now. Thank you 🤩😉
Thanks for watching! That photo is one of my recent favourites too!
This is amazing 🔥🔥🔥
Thank you!
Very smooth intro, I've replayed a few times. Love it. Awesome and inspiring content, thank you and keep up!! 💜
Thanks for watching!
I missed the chance of capturing snow in Japan this year. Hope to return next year!
Great video and inspiration!
From what the locals tell me this year has been abnormally warm and not much snow. Although tune in next episode on wed haha. There is so much snow
Love that lone pedestrian shot man, great vlog
Yeah it was a heavy crop but surprised I got it in that split second. Thanks for watching!
Bro, raw content man. Enjoying the series so far!
Thanks man. Next episode should be a snowy one.
Nice vid man! so keen to go here

Hi Ben! I'm in love with this serie, one day I will visit too Japan! Thanks for bringing us with you along your journey during this hard period! ;)
Thanks for watching Alessio. These videos are like therapy for me also in these tough times haha. Good memories.
You're an inspiration, dude!
Greetings from Brazil.
Thanks for watching Arthur!
Absolutely love this- the vibes are mad 💯
These vids are so chill to make 🤤
@@Itchban Definitely inspired heh 💪

Ayee vlogger now!
hahah vlog bro
that ramen spot at 1:41 is 👌👌👌
Haha we only went to that yakitori place 😭
Beautiful!
Thanks Tom! Hokkaido during winter is amazing.
Ironically, I was enjoying a Asahi beer watching this (in Norway btw), and seeing you crack a cold Asahi with your bud at the end, got me in the feels. Enjoyed the video, looking forward to test out my EOS R when it comes next week. :)
Awesome! how's your R?
@@Itchban it has been such a nice upgrade over my 6D, and suits me and my needs well. 👌
Loving it
Thanks for watching Fred! New episode tomorrow.
I wish I could ask for the settings but I use a Sony A6000! haha, I love your work!
Thanks J. Settings should be relatively similar I think. Maybe you need to go brighter
Dude your vlogs are inspirational. Where do you get your music from and sounds for sound design??
thanks Aaron. Thanks for watching. I'm not montezing my vlogs so I'm just using music I like. The artists / record label takes all my ad revenue -_-
Killed it dude!!
legend!!
Broo this was too good! So RAW 🔥
It’s so fun shooting with a chest mount. Try it 🤘🏼
this is wonderful bro, can i ask you what is your way of working with focus? What type of approach do you use and how do you do it for your street photographs? keep it up bro and hopefully in your future videos you will publish the settings in your photos, you already have one more follower
Thanks for the sub! I usually have it set to centre focus point and will move it if necessary. Watch my other POV street video in Tokyo. In that vid I use the zone focusing method and also explain it a little. Hope that helps.
This is sick bro! What are your thoughts on back button focusing? Hoping I can become proficient in that technique so I can use it in Street photography once everything settles down
Hey it’s how I always shoot - I always use back button focus. It allows me to control and lock my focus better with my thumb which frees up my index finger to smash the shutter button. I don’t use back button focus however (as described in the video) when I need to quickly focus and shoot a photo (like a street subject moving into the frame / af point). Hope that helps.
Proper Call Of Duty vibe here ;) Hows Japan these days? Enjoy these POV videos mate - they are very engaging! Looking forward to more :)
Thanks for watching Dan. I’m back in Sydney now so I wouldn’t know 🤷🏻♂️. Thanks for the feedback. There will be more fpv later on in the series when I head back to Tokyo.
Man that was good. No suits playing in the background was awesome. How the hell did you find that track? Iv never heard of them before. Not until i saw your last video. Really enjoying the series mate.
Yeah they’re cool hey. I found them on someone else’s vlogs actually. Always looking for new music to cut to. I wanted to make these FPV some easy to watch and vibe to 🤘🏼
love this brought me peace. what lens and settings did you use mainly ?
that's awesome to hear. I used the 85mm 1.4 for this shoot. It's my favourite lens.
Thus is crazy’s
So cool! Nice video!! I also travel Vlog from japan 🇯🇵 Thanks!
Cool I’ll take a look. Thanks for watching!
itchban Thank you!
Hi itchban!, what's the name of the song at 7:14 ?
Yo. It's Blue Skies by JLL
"there's a kid bro, want to chase them?"
- famous last words
HAHA jk, these are amazing! the shot at 1:08 almost looks like film! waiting on next wednesday!
Open up fbi lol
😂😂😂
Hi Ben! I've been loving these vlogs 😍 just wondering what lens you were using during the street photos? Can't get over that sexy depth of field. Just perfect 👌
Ohhhh totally should have included what I was shooting with in this video haha. My bad. Canon EOS R w/ 85mm 1.4
Walk snap bang money shot, bang bang bang money shot hahahaha
game up or
Lol, i see a kid lets go i'm excited xD
Haha it can be difficult to find good subjects to shoot sometimes. It turned out to be my favourite image 😆
What city were you taking? どの市で撮ってました?
Asahikawa ✌🏼
@@Itchban Thank you very much! Good photos👍👊
Damn man! So moody👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
it was such a fun night! Thanks for watching.
@itchban what’s your favorite lens for run and gun style street shots like this? Obviously all quite low light here too!
Usually it’s my 85mm 1.4. The 1.4 helps a lot and I like the focal length. Night time shooting has to be 1.4 though otherwise it gets pretty difficult.
Ur work 💯,bro I wanna buy a new camera. My cart-EOS R,Sony A7C,Nikon Z6ii or Fuji XT4. Plz tell me🙏
Depends if you're shooting video or not.. I'd probably go R or A7C
Did you get any problems with the people you shot in Japan? When I just think about street photography in Germany, I can almost hear all the swearing and threats ^^"
Yeah I hear it is illegal in Germany. It is usually fine in Japan, everyone is busy going about their day. Like all situations though be respectful and look into the local laws.
