Daemon was just mad his brother died he definitely wasn’t murdered. The way Syrax reacted to Rhaenyra in labor was touching! To loose her father, her crown, & her baby in one day! All the dragons showed the bond with Syrax & Rhaenyra, Caraxes & Daemon without him having to say anything. & little Arrax & Luke & Arrax sensing Luke’s fear & Vhagar sensing Aemond’s hate.
Vhagar is an old granny with dementia. she probably thought she was still fighting the war with Visenya back in the days 😭
Which is exactly why she chose Aemond, Aemond’s bravery and vengeance nature reminded her of Visenya.

Fun fact: the dragon daemon was singing to is vermithor (the bronze fury) currently the second largest dragon alive it was the mount of king jahaerys Targaryen daemon (viserys and rhaenys grand father) it usually killed anyone who tried to claim it but it recognizes the Lala by daemon was singing cause it’s the same song jahaerys sang to his grand kids as well as vermithor he’s as battle harden as vhagar another thing is he’s rumored to be the father of drogon, viserion and rhaegal

Aemond’s eye is “blue” because he put a sapphire in his empty socket, which is like his most defining feature in the books and there’s quite a bit of cool art of it. There’s also a sapphire on Aemond’s “cog-thing???” In the intro to reference his missing eye. In the GOT History and Lore, Robert Baratheon describes Aemond’s eye as “gleaming” eerily at Luke before he left Storm’s End, so I was really excited to see it!

If anything Aemond should’ve taken that revenge out on Jacaerys and Aegon who actually were the root cause of the mess whether about his bullying case or about the fight over Vhagar on Driftmark. Luke only happened to be there and acted on instinct to save his brother. Besides Aemond took that slice like a champ as an accomplishment to win Vhagar. He didn’t need to hold over a grudge for years especially over a time when they were both on a mission as envoys.

The worst part is that Aemond didn’t plan on killing Luke, but he was playing tag on top of an ancient war weapon.
From the books, he did intentionally kill him though. Although no one knows the true narrative since the Dance is told from 3 different perspective sides. So technically we got to watch it unfold and see Aemonds reaction to that "incident".

His intentions doesnt matter, what matters is how he present his case at court in front of the king and he will do a piss poor job at that.
In the book one of the Baratheon daughters who didnt get picked by Aemond was salty about it and taunted him about not fighting Luke after Luke left, she said something like "I thought it was one of your eyes he took, not one of your balls. Im glad you picked my sister, I want a husband with all his parts." and that angered Aemond enough to make him go after Luke.

One thing that always weirds me out about hotd reactions is that people can watch Daemon maim and kill the criminals of kings landing, start a war without the kings permission and murder a member of a prominent noble family at court and get suprised when he chokes Rhaenyra, his niece whom he groomed
Btw that dragon Daemon was singing to was Vermithor. Vermithor is the next largest dragon after Vhagar, and he was called “The Bronze Fury”. His only rider so far was King Jaehaerys I Targaryen, the old king we saw in the intro of the first episode. In the early years of Jaehaerys’ reign, a Lord Baratheon rebelled against the crown but was eventually taken into custody. When Lord Baratheon asked the young king if he meant to take hostages in return for his treason, Jaehaerys simply led him to Vermithor and made him watch as he fed him, trusting that would be enough to assure he didn’t rebel again… and it worked 😂

@@Becs839 stress doesn't put you into labor prematurely. extreme stress can cause miscarriage, but not birth. Plus visenya suffered from a targaryen birth defect that came as a side effect of the blood magic used to bond targaryens to their dragons. The baby comes out stillborn with scaley skin, horns, and even sometimes wings, this is why visenya doesn't survive the birth, though since rhaenera did have a premature birth it's possible the baby would've died either way

Lucerys was 13 in the book, 14 in the TV series. If I were Rhaenyra, I would not have sent him to Storm's End alone; I'd have sent Princess Rhaenys (cousin to Lord Borros) with him.

Remember Viserys always drips gems. He said that humans can't control the dragons it is just an illusion of control. Viserys is peaceful to a fault but he has some wisdom to share.

Yes they are similar, but I find Otto to be more sneaky and annoying maybe. I think I prefered Tywin, he just seems a bit smarter (even though he might be more evil than Otto.). I just really didn't like Otto😅 But Rhys played very well👍

Not that it was right, but i believe Daemon choked Rhaenyra because she was not only is refusing to act, but also he is grieving the loss if his brother and child (that would have been his stillborn daughter), and the throne was just taken from his wife, then on top of it he finds out about a prophecy he was never told about. And its a pretty big deal because its only told to heir's aka the future King or 'Queen'. And he was supposed to be Viserys heir, before it was made rhaenyra in episode 1. So now he finds out he was not only kept out of a " big prophecy" but that for the first 10 years that his brother was king. Never once was he truly considered by his brother to be his heir, even when Viserys didn't have any sons with his first wife. Because it wasn't till Allicent that he had sons but by then Rhaenyra was heir.
The dragon with Daemon is named vermithor (i can't spell it but its close lol) and i believe it was either his father or grandfather's dragon. So he was singing a valarian song to it for the dragon to recognize it and him. Because its been a while since it most likely has seen him or anyone since its rider is also most likely dead. We'll see more of him season two. Cant wait for it. Loved your reaction btw ❤.
Otto was right to fear Rhaenyra’s ascension especially after she married Daemon. We see in this episode that immediately Daemon suspects that the greens “poisoned” Viserys.
I mean Daemon isn't going to be the only one to think that. The problem was THE WAY the greens moved after Viserys death. They were sneaky, threatening, didn't inform the declared heir of her father's passing, and then forced the common folk to witness Aegon's ascent. It also makes sense Daemon believes this when u realize he believes Otto had his father killed. Viserys when he was firing Otto alluded to this as well. Not saying Otto did it just that his house really seems to benefit from House Targaryen's misfortunes.

You have to admit whenever something bad befalls the House, the Hightowers, and in conjunction the faith, always seems that much closer to the power of the throne. It's like Otto himself said: The gods have yet to make a man that lacks the patience for absolute power.
@@jjh2456 her admitting her children were bastards would have resulted in both her and their deaths. At the very least she would be facing banishment but the children definitely would have been put to death. That's why Viserys didn't want to acknowledge it and wanted Alicent to stop trying to get it publicly acknowledged even though everyone knew. The King himself vocally acknowledging this publicly would be essentially signing their death certificates.
As for Rhaenyra going missing from court for 6 yrs, I feel this woman has made a series of poor political decisions and this is just one of them. Both she and Viserys share the same fault: they base their decisions too often on their own emotions. Even though she wasn't around Rhaenyra could have been working on shoring up her allies. She doesn't have to be there in person to prevent the greens from have a fist hold over the place after all. Instead she got caught up in motherhood and being with the man she always wanted and forgot all about needing allies to back her right to rule. She should never have waited for the greens to gain all these houses first. There was no reason for the blacks to be scrambling to determine who are their allies that should have already been established and the houses awaiting instructions from their Queen.
N.b: ALL of Rhaenyra's children are bastards. If we are going with the show's version as canon then Leanor isn't dead or wasn't yet, Daemon and Rhaenyra's marriage therefore isn't legal, and the children with Daemon are as much bastards as the children with Harwin. Keeping that in mind the question of who really won the war needs to be asked. After all, the bastards still took the throne.
I mean, the greens didn't technically assassinate Viserys... but they made damn sure he was incapacitated during the remainder of his reign so he couldn't make decisions anymore.
It was clear that Viserys was in a lot of pain and was hella uncomfortable. That match to defend Rhaenyra took anything he had left out of him. He was a rotting corpse. His disease incapacitated him. Not the greens.

the scene i'm most mad about them cutting was the one with baela's speech but after that it's definitely that daemon one where he's with his daughters after laena's death

Obama is closes to Otto than to Corlys. They are both politicians and Otto has been ruling for Viserys for 6 years, and that if we don't count being Hand since Jaehaerys. If anything he had it worse if we're considering all those years. Ruling an entire continent is harder and more stressful than a bunch of isles.

All the riders that thought they could control their dragons died, all the ones that knew they were too powerful to be slaves lived. Like Daemon who had a partnership with caraxes rather than control or Aegon the conqueror who knew his dragons could not be controlled and kept them chained away after he was done with them.
I will say this. Everyone saw in that war council why Rhaenyra should’ve just married Daemon from the beginning. The dude is a warrior and his war plan is actually quite genius. Many things led the Targaryens to the dance but all would’ve avoided if Viserys just let Daemon and Rhaenyra wed from jump.
So you say a bunch of bullshit about Rhaenyra but think she should have been married off to her child molesting uncle? His war plan is nonsense betting on dragons they didn’t have yet

In it, it is revealed that the name of the song Daemon sings to Vermithor is "With Three Heads". Check the English translation:

In the book Aemond he kills Luke and because he wanted not to and as he is showing in the series that he is sorry, the name of Rhaenyra's baby would be a girl and her name would be visenya
Rhaenyra wasn't dreaming of a dragon giving birth. Her own dragon, Syrax, was screaming in pain at her because they are so bonded. If you notice during the Battle of the Stepstones, Caraxes screams when Daemon is hit by an arrow. this shows how Rhaenyra and Daemon have a great connection with their dragons. Rhaenyra's anger burns the whole transition was so well done, her anger is completely justified compared to how they made Daenarys
Daemon as crazy as it gets, he loved his brother. From the scene where he stopped Corlis talking shit about Viserys in ep 1, helping on the throne to mourning on the beach. I don't think Daemon wanted to show weakness because Rhaenyra was at her most vulnerable and it wasn't easy.. The last woman he had complications with died. He didn't want to have to make that choice for Rhaenyra. He couldn't lose her that way. When he dropped to his knees, he was relieved that she was okay and had survived. Rhaenyra didn't want help during the birth because of her mother's death. She wanted to get that baby out so she wouldn't suffer the same fate. This series/book is awesome...
Matt Smith said that Daemon would give his life for Viserys and Rhaenyra. I think the biggest reason people didn't like the scene of Daemon smothering Rhaenyra is because he's supposed to be a bad guy to the greens, but the protector of his family. Daemon isn't a saint, but he's definitely not a villain. He does a lot of bad things, but he's a gray character, and loving his family and protecting them is one of his redeeming qualities and some writers are trying to take that away from him.
Get over it lol, imagine losing a eye as a young kid that’s going to be a traumatic experience for any kid especially growing up, I think what made it worse is Luke laughing at him in episode 8, remember Aemond claimed Vhagar not traded his eye for a exchange he claimed her. Aemond said it was a fair exchange to read the room and calm his mother down. Aemond is similar to Daemon in so many ways, and they are both my favorite characters in this show but at the same time they are both psychos and need help.
I actually really hope they change the way the story plays out from the books, at least a bit.
I really hate most of the changes they made from the book so far and am dreading what else they're going to change.

the only way the blacks acknowledge the death of lucerys would by aemond opening his mouth and telling anybody that he killed lucerys. if i were aemond, i would've just say nothing about what happened cause first, there's no witness, and secondly lucerys body was already in pieces and it already scattered all over the sea so there's a very little chance to anyone to find his body so then we can just say that lucerys is "missing" but idk y'all maybe somebody could elaborate me on how the blacks acknowledge the information :/

They ruined daemon's personality in this episode.. he would never behave like that with rahnerya, ( never did it in book) infact he is literally the one to kill and die for her...(not trying to spoil) but that's the reality and love he has for her... He would kill anyone who would think of touching or misbehaving with rahnerya and about the war... daemon in the book was the one who wanted to see if there's any diplomatic solution left to achieve their objective before going to all out war

There's a huge difference between Aemond laughing while allowing his dragon to chase Lucerys & Arrax and Lucerys snickering at Aemond for less than 10 seconds while seated at a dinner table. Lucerys did not get up and chase Aemond with a deadly weapon, actually attacking him with the weapon. Aemond wasn't just sitting still on a grounded dragon, he was laughing while Vhagar was pursuing and snapping at Arrax with Lucerys mounted on him, in other words, putting Lucerys in terrible danger.

Spectacular reaction series - series itself was not great for me. As I go into S2 I really don't care about any of the sides - they are all sort of bad people...some less bad than others...but there are no Starks - no just pure good, blameless, innocents that deserve better for me to root for. Particularly knowing the future already and knowing who is going to win and I'm like - meh - leads to a lot of horrible stuff. It is good acting and good CGI so I enjoy that aspect, but they've really not connected me to any of the characters where I'd feel genuinely sad seeing them go. While Milly was playing Rhaenyra I definitely felt a connection and investment, but then the actress change over the time jump killed it.

The entire reason she asked Daemon to marry her was because she needed his help to fight the greens and now when he starts taking appropriate action to stop the greens she calls it 'his war' and considers just giving up and letting the greens have the throne without any resistance, she seems like a weak leader.
I know right!!! Daemon is just doing what Daemon does and Daemon is good at it. His methods may be ugly but they get results. Daemon wants Rhaenyra on the throne and Daemon knows what it is going to take to put her there. Love him or hate Daemon is dealing in reality. Suck it up butter cup and do what needs to be done.
I feel like when Daemon choked her it's cause he was pissed that she was hiding behind prophecies and she was being weak. Like Viserys had been. And she repeated it again by sending her sons as messagers. It's like she is not willing to take the responsability that it's war and that you have to take action. Just like her father.
Not taking any responsibility is a recurring theme with Rhaenyra.
