That was hilarious when I saw it because you just see his realization of what he had done.
I loved the reaction from Aemond when he lost control of Vhagar, the realization that *his* grudge with his nephew just started a war
The sheer look of terror and regret….he did a great job in that scene portraying the shock

Viserys did say in a earlier episode that control over the dragons was an illusion.

I really liked that the setup from the prophecy accounts for Rhaenyra’s change in philosophy from the books.
Because there, she is furious and ambitious and ready to go to war because she believes the throne is all that’s important as she was raised to believe it was her sole right and duty… but the show introduced a separate element with the prophecy. Now, her duty isn’t to herself but to the realm and she has a decision to make.
Is it more important that she sits the Iron Throne or that it stands united behind its king in the event that the great darkness should come in their lifetimes? It’s something she has to take into account, even though no one else will, because it’s now something only she knows about. She can still make a claim for the throne, but it will come at the cost of the united realm her father held together for so many years and in advancing her claims in his name, she destroys his legacy in the process.
The inclusion of the prophecy adds a whole new dimension to her character that simply isn’t present in the book, just like her friendship with Alicent, that means she is much more reluctant to want to go to war in the first place. Book Rhaenyra and Alicent loathe each other and were waiting for the first opportunity to stab each other but if that changes, then their reactions to his death have to likewise change. But what drives Rhaenyra away from even contemplating this path is the death of her youngest son, something she’ll believe is an act of intentional murder from which none of Alicent’s keepsakes will spare her wroth. (Even though Alicent sending the torn page from episode one was the second most heartbreaking moment of the episode for me and highlights what a tragedy has been imposed on these characters by circumstances around them.)
I didn't ever think Daemon was trying to be a peacemaker at the dinner party. It just looked like he really didn't have a reason to really have a violent confrontation and it seemed like him and Aemond were sizing each other up because they clearly will fight down the road. It appears to me the Daemon and Aemond are always itching for a fight.
Daemon challenged Aemond because the boys are so much younger. Aemond decided not to accept said challenge.
The dragon that Daemon summoned awake is Vermithor, the oldest and largest dragon except for Vhagar. Good move!!
Great reaction the reason why both of the dragons were attacking each other on their own was because dragons can feel the emotions of their riders and there was so much bad blood between Aemond and Luke it carried over into their dragons it sucks we have to wait two years for the next season just like Rings of Power

In the books, Aemond’s Baratheon wife pressures him to demand an eye for an eye. “Did he take your balls as well. I want my husband with all his parts”. But I think they left that out of the show because they wanted to focus on the dragon’s autonomy.
The fact this show had people rooting AGAINST Daemon & Aemond is top tier Game of Thrones level storytelling.

Fun reaction! Great episode, sets up the next season so well. Aemond is a little crazy... but he's an absolute scene stealer! Otto reminds me of Joffrey from GoT in that he's hated as a character, but it's a testament to how good the actor is to make us hate him so much.
I think Otto is far more similar to Tywin.

Aemond perplexes me because in other scenes he’s so composed, great posture, very stoic and looks super contained, and then all of a sudden he just blurts out “gIVe Me yOuR eYe!!” With the most crazed tone 😂 it took me by surprise

What isn't mentioned for the scenes of Rhaenyra's labor, was it lasted three days. :(
Also, the baby was horribly deformed. Scaley skin, a small reptilian tail and a gaping whole in the chest cavity where the heart and sternum/front ribs should be. They didn't say anything about the face as it didn't properly form. :(
It's the two Dragons, Vhagar and Arrax that started the war. They ignored the commands of their riders and decided to fight. Of course, everyone is going to blame Aemond, but as we heard him shout "NO! Vhagar! No!" as she ate Luke and turned Arrax into chunky fish food.
When Alicent and Otto finds out what happened, they are going to be terrified as to what Rheanyra and Daemon are going to do in retaliation, and it's going to be horrific and heartbreaking (Early 2024).
That big dragon Daemon was singing to is Vermithor. He was the dragon of old King Jaehaerys (who we saw in the prologue of Ep1), the grandfather of Viserys and Daemon.

There’s a new book that was released yesterday called “Rise of the Dragon”. It’s Volume 1 do i think there’s going to be a Volume 2 in a few years time. It’s written by GRRM, Elio Garcia and Linda Antonsson. It’s a superb book chronicling from Aegon I Conquest up to a few years after The Dance Of Dragons war. It has pages of gorgeous artwork. Well worth getting.
Baratheon is at least partly responsible for this mess. Will he be the first target?
I love how they humanize the Villainous characters of this series. The regret for some of their choices really speaks volumes.

Other than the death of Viserys and the baby, i think the words from Rhaenys that the greens coming for Rhaenyra and her children are what made Daemon flip his battle gear mode ON. Because he love his family so much and don't want anything happened to them again. Especially seeing Rhaenyra kinda swayed into the offer that the greens made. So he had to snap her senses back to reality (but unfortunately with the wrong approach) i'm glad at the end they are there together when she got the news about luke tho'.
That dragon is vermitor the dragon of tbe old king in episode one, second oldest dragon alive.
That look is the same danaerys had in season 8 the black queen is about to be unhinged. Also that dragon kill is just a small taste of the amount of dragons that are gonna be fighting each other

The daemon put his hand on Rhaenyra was it because of the prophecy because viserys didn't tell him (this doesn't exist in the books the Writers vented in the series) I understand the fight we both have because they don't talk like that on the same page, make the daemon put his hand on Rhaenyra, I think that was over the top, it wasn't necessary and the moment the daemon lets go of rhaenyra, you can see in the eyes of the daemon and Rhaenyra that they are both suffering and Rhaenyra says she never told you that and she smirks because she's realizing that the viserys chose her as heir to the throne because viserys didn't tell the daemon and Rhaenyra thought viserys had told him because the daemon had 10 years as heir and Viserys and after those 10 years, viserys never told him so he keeps imagining in the daemon's head how my brother who i loved so much never trusted me right now the daemon must be very hurt because daemon always wanted to show his worth to viserys and he loves his brother the daemon and a person who he has a hot head, he is proud, but he also has feelings, but sometimes he ends up expressing it wrong, then the daemon loses another child because he already lost one, then he discovers that his brother died Then later he discovers that his brother never trusted him and that it hurts his heart and daemon is feeling all of this but he ends up putting everyone else these feelings in rhaenyra who is not to blame it's the moment he lets go she sees his eyes of sadness and before he leaves if you notice he looks down he looks at her belly Then he remembers the daughter they lost, Daemon didn't stay with Rhaenyra because he didn't want to make the same choice he made with Laena the daemon has truama in fact the daemon always had for those who don't know the daemon's mother died in childbirth so the daemon already has a trauma because he never wanted to have children, so the daemon didn't want to be with Rhaenyra so he wouldn't make the same choice there when Rhaenyra loses the child Rhaenyra Stays with the daughter since the daemon goes to the beach to suffer there that reminded me in the first episode of the throne scene there is a daemon and viserys is the daemon tells viserys that each person suffers in a different way, and it reminds me of the scene the two are suffering each alone but rhaenyra and daemon are grieving for their daughter unfortunately we didn't see much of the other side of the daemon this season because the writers and HBO preferred not to show in my opinion the most wronged is Matt Smith Mano he made several scenes of the daemon showing the sentimental side of the daemon him hugging his daughters is him on the beach grieving for the death of his daughter with Rhaenyra and he spends hours and hours on the floor grieving for visenya's death and we simply received in this episode just a quick scene of him grieving for his daughter in the book it says a lot that the daemon is a great father and that he loved his two Wives Laena and Rhaenyra unlike the series which showed very little and I think it's really sad because they're not showing the real daemon Of course he's hot headed and he's crazy but man he loves his family he would never hurt his family until the actor himself says that the daemon would give his life for Viserys is Rhaenyra and very sad what they are doing to this character.
The scene at the end was matt's idea he had an idea that who should break the news of luke's death should be the daemon there the writers and emma give up the idea there they did, if you notice it at the time of the scene when daemon enters in the room rhaenyra's attention goes all to the daemon because she knows that something has happened and on the way the daemon is approaching rhaenyra you notice that he puts a hand on his face indicating that he cried there when he got closer to rhaenyra he didn 't even be able to look us in her eyes
Daemon thinks that viserys was murdered because the greens made Aegon king right away and saved all the people in prison, not to mention that viserys is dead and this is all suspect, so of course Daemon or anyone else will think that viserys was murdered because the greens hid the death of viserys and they quickly put Aegon on the throne and when that nobody says Nothing to Rhaenyra so it's very suspicious so I understand Daemon's side of he's upset and angry is that now he wants revenge is we can't forget that Daemon and Rhaenyra are in Mourning but I also understand Rhaenyra's side of not wanting to go to war, what She was doing is right, a king has to keep the peace and Rhaenyra was trying everything not to go to the war and not having blood But now it's too late now it's war Rhaenyra has lost many things and now she has to fight for her Throne and for the lives of her children
4:02 what Rhaenyra said in that scene to me doesn't make sense she said that Daemon is crazy and that he's fighting his own war if you remember right in episode 7 Rhaenyra tells Daemon that she needs him and that she couldn't do this to herself , so she's asking him for help, here comes this scene where Rhaenyra says Daemon is waging his own war for me It doesn't make sense, Daemon is protecting his family, he's doing what she asked him to do in episode 7, I think it was a Script Hole because it doesn't make sense in my opinion

Helaena’s children are Aemond’s not Aegon’s.
11 reasons why
Reasons: 1) In episodes 7 Aegon says he doesn’t want to marry her and Aemond says that he would and perform his duties.
2) Aegon doesn’t care for his duties that’s why Helaena never seems to know where Aegon is.
3) In episode 8 when Helaena gives her speech about marriage she says “it’s not that bad he mostly just ignores you” then she takes a pause as she looks at everyone realizing that if Aegon ignores her all the time than how could he be the father her children. Then she says “accepts when he’s drunk” to cover her own behind and her children. And then everyone starts laughing and Otto says “Good” as in good you managed to save your own behind.
4) When Jace ask Helaena to dance Aegon looks at Aemond like he knows about him and Helaena and to keep a cool head as to not expose themselves by getting angry for asking Helaena his lover to dance.
5) In episode 9 right before Otto and Alicent come in to her chambers to ask where Aegon is she tells her children that if one sibling is giving everything the other will get jealous and want to take it themselves which represent Aemond he feels that the Iron Throne and Helaena should be his not Aegon’s.
6) Right after Helaena tells Otto and Alicent that she doesn’t know where Aegon is Otto storms off to come up with a plan to find and Alicent tries to talk with him and she says “Father” and you can hear one of Helaena’s children says “Aemond”.
7)Aemond looks shocked to find Alicent in Helaena’s chambers and Helaena looks at him them looks down nervously since they both know they shouldn’t be in her chambers alone since she is a married women and Targaryen’s are known for incest which can cause rumors to spread about them and the legitimacy of her children.
8)Aemond tells Ser Criston that he’s next in line for the throne if Aegon is dead or cannot be found. This statement would only be true if Helaena’s children weren’t Aegon’s . If Aegon was dead or they couldn’t find him then Aegon and Helaena’s first born would be next in line not Aemond. But he knows he is next in line because Helaena’s children are his bastards.
9)Aemond says “Tis I the younger brother who studies history and philosophy, it is I who trains with the sword, who rides the largest dragon in the world, it is I who should be….” Then pauses and many people thought he was referring that he should be the king but as episode 9 goes on he doesn’t care about others knowing his ambition to be king. The reason he paused was because he was going to say “It is I who should be with Helaena.” Ser Criston says he knows the feeling of not being able to have what you want in Ser Criston case who you want which Ser Criston wants Alicent. This leads me to believe that Aemond was talking about how Helaena should have been his wife”.
10) This show emphasizes characters hair as a way to determine parentage if you notice Aegon and Helaena both have wavy curly hair but “their” children have straight hair just like Aemond.
11) When it looked as if Rhaenys was going to burn them with her dragon Aemond protects Helaena and she grabs his arm when I believe the show depicts her as being autistic since she some characteristics like she doesn’t like physical contact when Alicent hugs her in episode 8 she just stand still with her arms down and in episode 9 Alicent tries to console her by touching her arm she pulls away so if she is portrayed as being autistic as I believe she is. She would only have physical contact with someone she trust like her lover Aemond.

In the book the death of her daughter had her in beast mode already. Her words . ( they murdered my only daughter, ) and she swore vengeance. ( blaming the premater delivery on them ) but the baby was deformed like dany baby.

the choke scene , When he realized he didn’t know the dream secret , he realizes that viserys never trusted him enough and never considered him heir. He was feeling hurt because it has been shown his insecurity is his relationship with viserys. At that moment he was trying to wake nyra the fk up because he knows otto and knows peace isn’t possible. She was acting like viserys and even though daemon loved him, he hated the way he ruled and knows how that ended and hated that nyra was thinking the same as viserys (being naive) He regretted that choke which is why the last scene he was wiping tears off his face if you go back and acted caring (holding nyras hand while delivering the news). On to the birth scene, he was having flashback of laenas pregnancy problem and wanted to avoid it (ptsd) . It was shown in this episode that corlys went to war for 6 yrs after his sons “death” as his way to grief. (Man deal with there emotions different, war is a way to grief) which is why he was distracting himself with the planning to go to war. He later took time for himself to grief on the beach scene. Not defending the choke scene but it’s important the reason for it. He was wrong for it and he knows it
Now defend why Daemon is a good guy for caving his first wife's head in with a rock?
When in that comment i made said daemon was a “good” guy? He’s not. Like ryan said in a interview yesterday, he’s the antihero of the show.

My point is that in total the Green side is actually morally superior at this point in comparison. So logical people would therefore support team green, emotional people will support team black.

The chocking scene was disgusting and they ruined daemon's character... This never happened in the book...and daemon would never behave like this with rahnerya... Infact opposite he would kill anyone who dares to touch her😶

the book made eamond way worse/crazy in this scene, the writers actually made him feel bad which is way better in my opinion
Hm I actually really like that decision to humanize him a bit and show his empathy. Realistically he’s only supposed to be 16, right? I feel like his remorse and evident shock in that moment helped to reinforce how young they actually are and how serious the repercussions will be, and he knows it
The only redeeming factor for Daemon was that he never laid a hand on his closest family members. Him choking Rhaenyra like that, no matter the reason, cement him as a really bad dude. It's the show reminding us that he's just a bad guy.

The truth is that in this chapter I do not understand Rhaenyra, she wants to bring peace after she has been removed from the throne and has been humiliated since she had Asus children, what was she saying to Daemon in chapter 1x7, I cannot alone with them greens I need you and now that daemon realizes that the throne has been taken from his wife what is the first thing he does to look for allies reinforce dragontons in case they attack them and she starts to fight with him because she thinks she can do things better than him
that is why it is the anger of daemon who sees in her a viserys 2.0 he knows that the hightowers have been the problem from the beginning that daemon told viserys I will protect you from anyone but that is what hurts daemon realizing that viserys I never trust him if daemon he has never been a character neither good nor bad to him the only thing that matters to him is to protect his family I know that what he did to rhaenyra was not right but that is what bothers him to see that rhaenyra be like viserys who lets himself be manipulated by others
