I think austerity was somewhat necessary but quantitative easing could have been used to some extent so cuts weren't carried out to the extent that they were (Wren Lewis)

How much did your dad pay towards your upbringing? Chaos in the hospital has nothing to do with increase in demand ? And what on earth could have caused that ? Each party has increased funding of the NHS year on year. Remember the Tories austerity just reduced the amount of the deficit, the public debt still increased. Many of the labour pledges were incompatible with EU law and therefore a remain position. IDS' majority decreased. It's likely a labour candidate will win this seat come the next election due to demographics. Watch IDS on LBC and Jack Straw's discussion with her on news night. Eye opening.

I lived in C&WG for almost 20 years and latterly there was a nasty highly personalised edge in the Left's campaign against IDS. In 2019 some poor worker in IDS's office opened a parcel that contained a dead rat. Whilst I'm sure Shaheen condemned that, nothing that IDS did in government warranted the invective thrown at him by Shaheen and her groupies. He didn't set out in life to hurt her mother and it's ludicrous that Shaheen blames him personally for her family's problems. I'm glad that IDS has seen her off for a second and hopefully a final time.

A shame that Corbyn did not stand down after he lost the last election. We are going to end up with Tory Brexit because of Jeremy Corbyn as much as anything.
