Right? Polls haven’t been remotely accurate since like 2012. Rachel makes a very important point though. These polls are being presented as changes in the “race” when they’re not. The better thing to wafch is trends, if you’re going to watch any of it. And Kamala has trended positive for a while now. I don’t know if she’s leading, but she’s definitely trending up. The demographics that are wildcards nobody is really polling hard…women and young people, new voters. It’s notoriously difficult to poll them accurately.
A cautionary word: these comments on this video and others saying "I'm Republican and voting blue all the way!" are not necessarily and representative sample. I remember seeing some of this in 2020 too yet the cross-party votes were broadly the same as they are historically (5-10% R vote for Dems, 5-10% D vote for Reps). On the plus side, it also means all those posts of people saying "I am a lifelong Dem and voting for Trump!" or "I've walked away from the Democratic party and I know many like me!" are also likely outliers (or just flat-out liars - if you look are their pages they express no real lefty views at all). I hope it is a real thing but I am holding my breath until Nov 5 for sure.

My 70 year old Mom was one of the low info voters who voted for Trump twice. Right? Polls haven’t been remotely accurate since like 2012. Rachel makes a very important point though. These polls are being presented as changes in the “race” when they’re not. The better thing to wafch is trends, if you’re going to watch any of it. And Kamala has trended positive for a while now. I don’t know if she’s leading, but she’s definitely trending up. The demographics that are wildcards nobody is really polling hard…women and young people, new voters. It’s notoriously difficult to poll them accurately.
The race is too close, and its better that Harris/Walz keep a realistic view of the election. Bush/Gore is a cautionary example.
A cautionary word: these comments on this video and others saying "I'm Republican and voting blue all the way!" are not necessarily and representative sample. I remember seeing some of this in 2020 too yet the cross-party votes were broadly the same as they are historically (5-10% R vote for Dems, 5-10% D vote for Reps). On the plus side, it also means all those posts of people saying "I am a lifelong Dem and voting for Trump!" or "I've walked away from the Democratic party and I know many like me!" are also likely outliers (or just flat-out liars - if you look are their pages they express no real lefty views at all).
I hope it is a real thing but I am holding my breath until Nov 5 for sure.
