    "People who cannot afford the Rolex get the Tudor". What about those of us who can afford both, but prefer the look of the Tudor and who cannot be bothered to engage in the Rolex retail bullsh*t?

    I have the BB GMT and, except for the lack of an on-the-fly adjustment to the clasp, it’s a perfect watch for me. I don’t mind the thickness and it looks great on the bracelet, leather, or on a NATO.

    I am sure if you can afford a $4k plus Tudor, you can also afford a Rolex.
    I have a Sub, a Breitling Superocean, a quartz Tag Heuer Formula 1, and am going to add the Tudor GMT.
    Frankly, the best looking watch of the group is the Tudor GMT.

    I think that to assume that people buy Tudors because they can't afford a Rolex is painting the watch community with a very broad mistaken brush. I have a large collection of Tudors, omegas, GSs and more because I prefer variety over a few Rolexes. Also Some of us have a self imposed spending limit on what we choose to buy.

    2-BB PRO.
    3-Rolex Explorer.

    Awesome video. Amazing to see these 3 together. 41mm on the BB is such a brilliant size. And the Pepsi Bezel makes it the clear winner. Cheers.

  • @richiechou1605
    @richiechou1605 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I disagree
    I think 99% of people would agree that the BB GMT IS an homage to vintage Pepsi GMTs. The bezel is aluminium and the bezel colour reminiscent of vintage, pre-ceramic GMT Masters.
    Not sure if you've ever handled a modern Rolex BLRO GMT but the colour of the bezel is so much more different and does have crown guards and a ceramic bezel.
    Also
    "Tudor is the poor man's rolex"
    LOL
    Have you been living in a cave? 😂😂😂 this isn't 1970s mate

    The bb pro looks better to me than the explorer ii. I agree on the Pepsi, it's too common looking.

  • @fkhanro
    @fkhanro 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Thanks for the great video. I disagree about the Tudor Pepsi. It's stainless steel like it's vintage counterpart. The modern Rolex Pepsi is more difficult to get than the Modern Explorer 2 so I think it has its place. Not for the small wristed but a great time piece.

  • @backintimewatches
    @backintimewatches ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Hmm, I actually think the BB Pro and the BB Pepsi are exactly the same thickness. And it seems so in your video as well, until you suddenly start measuring lower down the crystal on the Pro, then it suddenly is thinner 🤷‍♂️

  • @johnheng3277

    Great comparison video you have made. But there is one Tudor GMT watch that IMO beats all these 3 GMT, though it's really to my own taste. It's the GMT S&G aka root beer. I have bought the black bay pro first and like it over the rolex explorer 1 and 2. This watch somehow led me to buy another GMT watch which is the tudor GMT s&g. And I love it so much that I've been wearing the root beer daily and neglecting the black bay pro to the extend I'm considering selling my BB Pro now.

    I agree with JJ and getting the Tudor NATO strap for me has transformed the watch. These straps although not cheap at £140 approx are real quality, made in France and amazingly comfortable. I think there is a utube video about their factory. Anyway good luck to all BB GMT lovers, and best wishes from the Emerald Isle

    Saying a person has to buy a Tudor because he can't afford a Rolex is absolutely not true.
    That's like saying a person has to buy a $60k Toyota 4Runner Limited or TRD or $85K Toyota Sequoia has to buy a Toyota becuse he can't afford a Lexus.

    Wait.... Is Rolex selling a GMT with an aluminum bezel? I thought they were only selling the newly released 2018 ceramic version. I personally think the Tudor GMT looks more like the 16710, 1675, or older GMT Master than the current Rolex Pepsi GMT.

  • @jimmy7494
    @jimmy7494 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Got to say I prefer the Tudors. I do think BB GMTs dial is better finished off to a higher quality than the pro, firstly, the black spot in the centre of the hands looks messy and lastly, the applied indices don’t have silver boarders. Also can’t the bb gmt do 3 time zones, pro is 2. So BB GMT for me

  • @franco2739
    @franco2739 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The Tudor GMT is an homage (if not reissue) of the 1st GMT Master 6542 from the 1950s. You need to do more research.

  • @bryankeise9005
    @bryankeise9005 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Great video but going to have to disagree. I actually think the Pepsi GMT is the best bang for buck. You can also buy an on the fly class for it now for not an awful lot of money so you have the adjustment you need. I love the other two watches the pro and the Rolex but don’t see the point in spending the money on the Rolex. I think the pro looks too much like the Rolex and I’d rather go for that . for me the GMT easily the best bang for buck and best looking of the three just my opinion.

    All great watches! I’m on the waitlist for an Explorer II polar but I was able to purchase the Rolex TT Rootbeer at retail- I love it but I want a more tooly gmt. I guess I’d rather wait and get what I want (the Rolex) rather than compromise on a substitute 😎. Great comparison and best regards.

    The bezel is 48 click so you can track half hour timezones (like India etc.) with it. You can't do thata with any modern Rolex as they have 24 clicks.

    Why is it EVERY watch review i see the vlogger goes on about the thickness of a Tudor? If you're suprised by and dislike the thickness of a BB then stop reviewing Tudor! Every Tudor BB is relatively the same thickness! Its what defines the watch for me and its what makes it different from anything else - the Tudor BB is a tool, its what makes the watch brilliant - i for one celebrate the strength and masculinity of Tudor. Rather you didnt make the video on the brand than continue harping on the same point. Get new material. Sorry i like your videos a lot but its true...

    Thank you for this video! I’m really torn between the Explorer II and the BB Pro. I think you hit the nail on the head when you said that you’re not getting that much more functionality for the extra $6k, so price wise it just makes more sense. And when you said that if you can’t afford the Rolex, you get the Tudor… I long for the days of the Explorer II being in the $5k range, especially the 16570s. I love those as well since I have a smaller wrist, but those are the same price as the brand new ones! Crazy! Great video, thank you!

    • @torontowatches9709
      @torontowatches9709 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can't be serious- get the Rolex and get it fast, the watch is an icon not a homage- also built quality he's underplaying it its far superior in every way including movement components, thickness and value retention.

    • @VMIyanks04
      @VMIyanks04 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@torontowatches9709 all true, but I’m never worried about value retention as a watch enthusiast… If I’m buying something that expensive, I’m going to keep it forever and pass it down as a family heirloom.

    I totally agree with you, I like the Rolex slightly curved bezel, the Pepsi looks allsome, Rolex do have a vintage piece like that with

    I really have to disagree with you. Tudor is not a brand for people you can’t afford a Rolex! The Rolex brand simply put have become a brand people buy for status and nothing more. Rolex makes boring watches and I really like the approach Tudor has….

    • @emmanueltsI5
      @emmanueltsI5 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      And I agree with you. I do can afford the explorer or a sub. Will not wait though for years to get one from an AD plus I don't want a 42mm watch. Have had 2 tudor and wish Rolex offers a 39mm explorer one day (plus allow us to get one)..

  • @georgetown8986
    @georgetown8986 ปีที่แล้ว

    Saying you must buy a Tudor because you can't afford a Rolex is an immature statement.
    People who can afford to send $4k plus (and desire to spend a decent sum) on a Tudor can certainly also afford to buy a Rolex if they desire.
    Some folks don't like the stigma of flashiness associated with the Rolex marque. And this is completely understandable. There is a time and a place.

  • @davidb9531
    @davidb9531 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I genuinely prefer the dial of the Pro over the Explorer, the indeces look more toolish, prefer the look of the numbers on the bezel, and no Cyclops yay! The thickness is a non issue for me, if anything just creates more wrist presence, affordability doesn’t really come into it if you prefer one piece over another, I just wouldn’t pay over retail for anything and have zero interest in playing the Rolex game

    They are traveller's GMT. No such thing as a "True GMT" since an office/caller's GMT is also a "True GMT" since it serves it purpose of telling a second (or even a third) time zone. Calling something a True GMT denotes that the other GMT variation is fake or not true (which it is definitely not).
