Shew..... I was fortunate enough to find one of these yesterday while cleaning an apartment out. I was told that they had it for 7 months and then it just stopped. I made a trip to the grocery store to buy a bottle of vinegar. After cleaning the machine out using this technique... the Keurig is working absolutely fine. Thank You for the video !

Thank you. Long story, but my Keurig had been in storage for a few years. I couldn't find the directions and was so glad you had this video up. Piece of cake to follow along. I'm assuming all will go well tomorrow morning with my first K-cup in ages. I'm so looking forward to it. Thanks again.

    De-Scaling Instructions
    A. PREPARE
Step 1: To begin, you will need the following:
At least 48 oz. of undiluted white vinegar
    Access to an empty sink
A large ceramic mug (do not use a paper cup)
Step 2: Empty the water from the Water Reservoir.
Step 3: Disable “Auto Off” features.
    B. FILL AND CLEAN
Step 1: Pour approximately 48 oz. of the vinegar into the Water Reservoir.
Step 2: Place a large mug on the Drip Tray Plate and run a cleansing brew.
DO NOT USE A K-CUP® PACK, just press the BREW Button. Pour
the contents of the large mug into the sink.
Step 3: Repeat the brew process without a K-Cup® pack until “ADD WATER”
    is indicated.
Step 4: Now let the Brewer stand for at least 4 hours while still on.
Step 5: Discard any residual vinegar and rinse the Water Reservoir thoroughly.
    C. RINSE
Step 1: Ensure the Water Reservoir is filled with fresh water.
Step 2: Place a large mug on the Drip Tray Plate and run a cleansing brew.
Pour the contents of the large mug into the sink.
Step 3: Repeat brew process until “ADD WATER” is indicated.
Step 4: You may need to perform additional cleansing brews if you notice
    any residual taste.
NOTE: If “DE-SCALE” is still indicated after completing the procedure,
    repeat the de-scaling procedure above.

Appreciate the video it's always helpful to see instructions demonstrated and especially for this model because people like myself still do use this older B70 model I'm hoping this fixes my problem of just dribbling around an oz into the cup then stops but continues to say brewing for the normal amount of time then stops so basically I have to brew like 6 cups to get a small cup I've done the paperclip trick on the two needles in case there's a clog and replaced the water reservoir filter although its just a screen and I don't think anything was wrong with it now its time to descale this bich fingers crossed

Hey there, thanks for the video. Have you ever come across a situation where your Keurig no longer brews anything and the water is just stuck? That's what I'm having trouble with right now. Do you have any advice for when the water no longer passes through the pod area?

Thank you for the video. I bought the B70 used and after 3 cups only light brown water was coming out. I'm not sure why. I tried to brew 2 times after that and the same thing...light brown water. I hope this solves the problem. I hope to know in 4 hours.

Great. They are only problem. How do I make “de-scale” message disappear?

    • @JustADad
      @JustADad  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

If it did not go out, then the manual says you have to descale it again. It might have a lot of build up on the inside. It senses how much mineral build up is on the inside and that is what lights the light.
How long has it been since you descaled it?

I just inherited this keurig from work and the descale light was on, I follow the instructions and hit brew a few drops come our and then it stops and says ready to brew. It doesn't seem like its taking any vinegar from the tank. I have cleaning solution coming but is there anything I can do in the meantime?

Once you hit Brew, and it shows “brewing” does your take about 19-20:seconds for the water to begin flowing into the cup? This one of mine does even after cleaning. I have the newer models that are really quick. Just curious if it’s just this model, that takes that long ?

    • @JustADad
      @JustADad  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Mine takes about 10 seconds before water starts to come out.

Loving this video and am excited to descale my old and (until now) trusty B70. I'm right with you through add the vinegar but when I open and close k-cup top, then push the flashing blue-ringed large button, the led screen reads BREWING but absolutely nothing happens: the vinegar isn't leaving the clear tank. I pushed the large button another time or two, turned power off/on, reset empty k-cup and the same thing. Should I look for a clog in the line from clear tank and, if so, can you explain how? FYI: my descale light has never come on, my Keurig was new and a gift Christmas 2012.

Mine says descale. And I can't get it to do anything. It was pre-owned. I purchased a descale packet and mad that I didn't watch this video first! So.... What do I do?

I suggest anyone who tries this method pay attention to the machine and make sure it doesn't turn off. I turned off my auto off, and the damn thing still turned off anyway at the time it normally does.
