    I did use the pricey descaler and only recently found out using vinegar was an adequate safe and cost effective substitute ...my choice is vinegar👍

      I found out about the vinegar in the instuctions. I've now had several Keurigs, I still read the instuctions on each new one I get, just to be sure that there isn't anything that has changrd on them.

    I know this is a way late comment, but the #1 reason I use the tabs is that they make it super easy & consistent for my kids to do the dishes as part of their chores. It makes a big difference.

    Love your channel. Thanks so much for the video. I have basically ignored the “please descale” message lol. I’ve had at least 4 keurigs over the years and have never done this. Ugh. But as of today I will be the descale queen thanks to you. Thanks again for all you bring us!!! 😊

    On the Kuerig 2.0 you can also remove another piece under the brewing pieces that hold the k cup pods...its like the little pan under the pieces you removed and should be lifted out also to clean it and under it and the pod holder you removed is easier to clean if you separate them as they are 2 pieces and 3 total including the "pan" under the pod holder👍

    I NEVER thought about cleaning the tray that the kcup fits into. Thank you for that 🤙

    My K-79 was bought at QVC over 10 years ago and is so quiet when brewing and I can't believe some machines are so loud. My brother has a noisy one too! My next Keurig will be the K-Supreme Plus!

    I use the white vinegar to clean mine. I run several cups of water through it. I hate the taste & smell of vinegar, so I probably go a little overboard on running the water through it, just to make sure, there isn't any taste or smell of it! I think it is outragous the price they charge for the Keurig cleaner....

    Wow! I had NO idea I could pull out the piece that held the pod. I watched a different video with a Qtip but yours totally blew my mind and got out so much more gunk!

      Take out the bottom piece like a drain "pan" under the pod holder and clean it and under it also... aalso the pod holder comes apart as 2 pieces and makes cleaning it easier and helps remove those stuck coffee grounds😉

    • @jeannefrazier3973
      @jeannefrazier3973 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      There is also a piece under the pod holder on the bottom of the cavity ..its like a drain pan ...it lifts out and can help clean any coffee grounds under it. The pod holder itself also separates into 2 pieces making it easier to clean

    We have softened water. We are on our 3rd Keurig. Somewhere in the fine print I read that Keurigs gum up with softened water. So we have to buy purified water for our Keurig all the time. If you know a solution to this, I would appreciate it. I use vinegar to descale it often.

      NOTE: If you have a Kuerig 2.0 you are also not to use distilled or purified water. I have had Kuerigs for 5 years and a 2.0 for the last 3 and only recently found out by using my filtered refrigerator water I was doing exactly the right water required by Kuerig👍

    I have this model and I can't turn the filter reminder off. It is al least 2 to 1. It wants a filter constantly. I have very hard hard water and am constantly descaling.

      I just found out that that's the filter lol! I thought it was a cleaning part so never installed it. I think it's in a drawer somewhere. omg I've used it for years with no filter!

    Do I still need to use the filter thingy if I have a water filter on my faucet? I threw the one that came with the machine away.

    There's also another piece you can take out where you put the coffee pod in.
