These refreshed GM trucks are hard to beat. Best looking trucks in the segment inside and out, best bang for your buck, smoothest riding, and are plenty capable enough for most.
Agree. Went from a '22 Ford F-250 Lariat 7.3L to '24 GMC 2500HD AT4 6.6L L8T. I've been Ford since 1998, This is my first GM product! I definitely prefer the GMC over the Ford. Smoother, quieter V8, better shifting transmission, smoother ride. I'd definitely buy the GMC again. Very very happy. Love the AT4 package inside & out.
I was always a Ford Truck owner but I wasn't able to get an F350 due to availability. I decided to go with the 2024 GMC AT4 3500 and have not looked back. Totally love the AT4 and it's a BEAST. I too, love those rims. It's built like a tank and tows my camper effortlessly. It's my first time owning a diesel. Gas mileage is surprisingly great in this truck.
I have watched all your videos since I decided to buy a truck at the beginning of the year. Thank you for all your hard work! I am excited to say my new 2024 AT4 will be here next week. For the price and all the options on the truck, Ford and Ram cannot compete.
Let’s not forget the fact that GM increased torque H/P and reliability with the Denzo pump and injectors all while lowering the price of the Duramax engine. 2023 build it’s a 9800 dollar option. 2024 it’s a 9500 dollar option. Ford and Ram can’t even come close. The AT4 and Denali are basically the same trim with one being more off road focused. And when the AT4X starts landing game over for Ford and Ram for now. A Lariat Tremor diesel is in the 90’s all while having three more trim lines to go to get to the top of Fords option list. I’m sure when fully optioned they’re well over 100k. All the while the AT4X will be priced in the 80’s to low 90’s for the diesel. And it’s top of the line for GM while offering suspension and ride quality not seen before in the HD segment with their fancy new shocks whithout sacrificing payload or towing.
Good stuff, I forgot to mention the diesel price decrease which was a good move! The AT4X will be the new "Halo Off Roader" in the segment simply because of that suspension 👍🏾
Went from a 2022 midnight edition 2500 HD Chev to a 2024 midnight edition. The seats are still nothing to write home about. Definitely more comfort in the 2024 f250 lariat my father has. But the seats have definitely been improved over last gen. They’ve honestly made great improvements where it mattered. A nice clean refresh that made the truck feel like a different model or brand all together. My gearing is different in my new 2500 HD so the fuel economy is worse, but the towing definitely is improved. They really need to work on their engine brake though. Put anything significant behind the truck and the exhaust brake is almost nonexistent. I’ve been in a newer ram and the exhaust brake is on par with semi truck performance, like a true exhaust brake. The digital gauge cluster is outstanding with all the customization you need to make it show exactly what you want when you want it. And the power up and down tailgate is a feature. I never knew I wanted it so bad lol! Also knowing that your tailgate is down when you start driving… like what the fuck took so long to get that in a truck. A tailgate down sensor should have existed the moment a door open sensor did all those years ago..
Here in Canada we take off our nice rims and put on black steel wheels for winter. Anyone older than 40 sees winter rims in this video. The only thing that could take away more is the primer grey with winter wheels.
When you say the gas is under powered you really mean it's just not a turbo diesel. The 6.6 gas is a big step up form the 6.0 gas that has moved millions of HD GM trucks for ages. Gas version is great for people doing lower mileage, shorter trips, not towing super heavy and often, that sort of thing.
Really good review. Debating this, the Denali or the Ford Tremor or loaded Lariat. Now that Fords are in stock everywhere. Do you still think this is the best option? Do you think the AT4 rides smoother or rougher than a normal? I work off road a lot in construction. I think just putting some 35s with treads is fine. Don't need the shocks.
Nice video. GM is killing it on pricing. Now granted $87k is A LOT of money but we also can’t compare pricing today from years ago. And the other two brands won’t give you near the equipment at that price point. The GM trucks are a lot heavier than the Ford trucks. This translates to the better towing experience they every review you see says too. I think the fifth wheel prep package must be on constraint. When you go to build a truck right now it says see dealer for pricing.
Tried to order a Z71 Sport Package for a 3500, has been on constraint for months. Now the 5th wheel prep is on constraint? At this rate I'll get a 2024 F350 before I get a Chevy even though the Ford is starting production 7 months later…
@@SliderFury1 I don’t know that to be true but on the build and price website it says see dealer for pricing on the prep package. There’s a bunch of Z71 sports out there on the search inventory tool. A local dealer to me has an available 2500 in Red Hot. It’s a loaded LT minus cab lights and the multi flex tailgate. $77k is sticker.
I love my ‘19 power stroke, but if I upgrade this will be it. I pull a 40’ trailer with rzrs so I typically don’t care all that much about the gvwr but those extra 4 gears sure would be nice. I’ve had my issues with fords 10 speed and I will not get it again.
Just got mine in volcanic red. Traded my ram mega in. Huge difference. Loved my Ram but this new At4 is nice and fast and rides way better than my Ram or my previous super duty. I like all 3 2500 brands and have had them all. Not saying this at4 is the end all best of everything but so far I’m super impressed and very happy with it. And styling is the best out right now as well. Ram is outdated and fords now starting to look like a ram. Not a fan of the new chevy front end
GMC does have the nicest looking HD pick again. Ford had it there for the last decade till this last year . Personally the STX front grill looks better then the top of the line package. I still can't afford any of these new pick ups but if I could I would go with the GMC .
My 1996 gmc with the 350 went to 321,000 miles, problem is electronics, cruise control goes out at 90,000 to 140,000 miles, air conditioner gone by 120,000 miles, sit still and engine gets hot, needs better cooling engine system, other than that great, also barely blew enough cool air in Texas, ok for northern states or Canada
Great review. Odd the dealer ordered an AT4 with power steps. Power steps belong on Escalades & Ultimates. Not an off road version…. GM black sport steps would be perfect on that truck!
The Black AT4 is just mean … bought one this past week and man is it a sweet looking but equally performing truck. The new Duramax updates are awesome; the truck should last a long time and hold up to a lot of abuse
Does it have locking front differential, something very handy in mud, snow and mud, you might as well get the best, locking front differential, you have gmc $1000 shock you should have solid front end
I have that exact truck and love everything about it except the Google Android OS. One day doesn't go by where that thing doesn't glitch out in some way. That is not just a GMC thing, it's any car brand that has Google integrated into it. They need to dump that garbage software.
I disagree definitely not underpowered, the difference in power to competition is minimal and yet tow capacity is comparable. If it was that much of a difference it wouldn’t be selling so well.
With more HP, torque, payload, towing and better fuel mileage... But somehow the GMC is better 😂. Everyone has a preference and I'll stick with Ford for now.
Dude there is no way you're getting a King Ranch Tremor for $86k unless it's a gas truck 😂! Last time I looked, a KR with just diesel option was like $90k and Tremor is like another $4k-$5k which puts you about $10k more once you add sunroof, spray in, and fifth wheel prep...
Purchased mine on 10/31/23, drove it home, next day, check engine light came on. Bad censor, GMC has been aware of this censor issue for 2 years.. Could not find a replacement in the US. Today is 12/1/23, was told tentative fix date now is 12/29/23, day after we were to leave for Florida. They always say after talking to case Manager, Welcome to the GMC Family. Well, I’m sorry, it’s NO family I want to be part of. First and Last GMC I’ll ever purchase. Garbage
Underpowered? People were towing large rigs with much less power in the past. The number on paper might be less than other brands but it has plenty of power. Complaining about engines making around 1,000 torque really is a 1st world problem, we're spoiled with any of these engines
I don’t disagree about the trans or payload. The inside of the new gmc still can’t compare to the Ram. You were a big Ram guy now this big change buying the gasser also. Maybe getting a GM deal to push their product !! They are good. Not as great as your making them out to sound. Sorry I like your videos and with as many good points you may make it’s to easy to see your getting a deal off of your GM to push them. Your opening that other rent a truck business and why not push GM if u can get a bunch cheap.

Ford has a rough ride, wandering front end with death wobble, CP4 fuel pump, bad build quality, and many issues from the digital gauge cluster to upper oil pan leaks from the factory
1. Ford constraints mean the truck will not get built 2. lower GAWR out back 3. CP4 fuel pump (GM uses DENSO which is proven reliable) 4. larger fuel tank for standard bed 5. Pricing
i drove one and wasn't impressed with it really. The gear shifter when in drive sits in front of the laggy screen that's in it. Granted i drove a 6.6 gas truck, but I wasn't impressed with the power of it either.

@@JB_WhoWorkyou get what you pay for right? 😂 FORD and Dodge are superior that’s why GM is low priced combined with they build most products in Mexico 😂
This truck is by far the goofiest looking truck ever built. This truck does nothing better than ford or dodge. FORD is number one truck sales don’t lie. Ford has the most power, most towing capacity, and just flat out is way more impressive than this truck.
The interior is garbage compared to Ram and ford. The seats are too firm, the dash is cheap looking and part of steering wheel blocks the gauge cluster. My 23 ram is a lot nicer.
@JB_WhoWork I wouldn't call you biased, but I know your not happy it takes longer to get ford in when you custom order it and this is your money maker, TH-cam, maybe 1, your wife may be a nurse or something, but gm can get you a truck to review in less than 6 months, smart man, your in Utah, remember Jesus died on the cross for our sins, and is raised, Resurrected up to life, back to the right hand of His Father, believe this and ask him into your heart and be saves, now live by The Word of God
Dude stop trying to convince yourself gm is the best . I just traded my shitbox 2024 at4 in for a 23 powerstroke . NIGHT AND DAY DIFFERENCE. Tows like a kenworth and the exaust brake actually works unlike the gm. And I’m getting 18mpg unlike the 12 mpg on my at4. Ram and ford blow gm out of the water on performance
@@Billybob50119 just like gm. My 24 was towed the 2nd day I owned it. They are having a dpf issues along with the auto high beams and the the radio screen blacking out. The truck is far from a tow king . Between that absolutely embarrassing exaust brake and shitty service brakes this truck is laughable. The only thing gm has nailed down unlike ford is the order process . I got my 24 in exactly 6 weeks. Jb did a video showing how to improve the exaust brake by manually down shifting which the transmission did the braking . If they fix the brakes and the mpg then it will be a great truck

@@alexr9514I’ve owned a 2020 limited mega cab 3500 and it was a pos lol… chill with the “superior” comment.
What’s up with the two caps? One diesel and the other one blue?
definitely the worst time to buy a truck
This truck is by far the goofiest looking truck ever built.
This truck does nothing better than ford or dodge.
FORD is number one truck sales don’t lie. Ford has the most power, most towing capacity, and just flat out is way more impressive than this truck.
😓 Diese riesigen Autos mit hohem Benzinkonsum sind nicht mehr zeitgemäß. Der Umwelt zuliebe.
Built with China parts!😢😢😢
That’s right Gm builds all their crap in other countries

The interior is garbage compared to Ram and ford. The seats are too firm, the dash is cheap looking and part of steering wheel blocks the gauge cluster. My 23 ram is a lot nicer.
Facts!
Most biased reviews on TH-cam
But if it was Ford or ram,u wouldn't say a word.
@@camclarke9952Exactly.
Guy watches one video and calls me bias 😂!
@mgmoutdoors9798 you sound like the most jealous dude hating in the comment section
Good story 😂 Ford has so many issues it’s embarrassing.
@@Mike-mn9xo good story. Go troll somewhere else 👍 meanwhile 23 Ford diesels are locking up from bad oil pumps, gauge clusters going black and on stop sale recall, burning tons of def with regens every 200 miles, upper oil pan leaks from the factory, and they still run a CP4 🤦♂️
@@Billybob50119 good story . Keep believing this truck is the best out there .
@@Mike-mn9xo Ford is a total train wreck with the worst quality and reliability for 3 years straight. Go ahead and buy their overpriced garbage that has recalls faster then you can get them fixed 👍
87K? Too bad im not rich like that. Nice truck though.
