P.S. should really wait until the end of your video or after the “ Booster” part. Nice to see you’re looking well mate, keep at it with the videos mate, great to watch. Must say, totally agree with you saying “ I trust scientists more than I trust politicians “, personally there’s very few, if any politicians I’d trust and we wouldn’t be here today without scientists, it’s as simple as that.
Wonderful and informative video. I also have a kidney transplant and awaiting my results for antibodies. My partner met a friend of yours at a wedding last weekend, and a conversation came up about you or me, kidney transplants and protection from covid (the reason I was not at the wedding myself). Your friend recommended to check out your TH-cam and I’m very happy I did so. I’m a little active in the young adult kidney group and occasionally meet up with some kidney Londoners. If you’re not already involved, you should join. Looking forward to watch more of your videos. Take care, Birgitte x
AWww thats amazing! Im glad you found it helpful. I make these videos to help others as much as possible so I always love receiving messages like this :)
Thank you! That's a hard question to answer right now. It depends on how much medication you're taking and how good your immune system is at responding to vaccines. I'm hoping everyone will produce some antibodies after a third jab.
Great video. Like yourself I had both AZ jabs (12 weeks apart). My hospital trust has not carried out a Covid antibody test - did you do this privately? Either way like you mention it may not be worth it. Great advice but I'm sure like yourself and other transplant recipients I feel pretty despondent about this situation and having to remain shielded and extra vigilant. It just drags on! 😔
Oh I feel exactly the same! Feel like there's no choice though as health has to be put first. No i was lucky that my hospital (Hammersmith, London) were conducting their own research at the time of my appointment and asked me to take part.
Interesting video. I had both my jabs about 3 months before my transplant. I try find out what antibodies I have. Is there any information about having your jabs before and after transplant.
Thank you! There's not much written yet about having the vaccine before and after transplant. Whether you produce antibodies or not depends on what medication you were on before transplant. MY advice would be to look here on the Kidney Care UK website as they provide the most up to date information for kidney transplant patients www.kidneycareuk.org/news-and-campaigns/news/webinar-report-7/
Same here mate, ZERO, I think they will do a “Bonus” Jab at 12 months, what are your thoughts? We knew we wouldn’t have great protection from the jabs anyway but at least some is better than none and listening to your Doc our Renal Communities feel the same. I’m most likely not doing as much as I should to protect myself I’m still wearing my mask and Social Distancing as much as I can being a “Street Photographer”. Things like washing hands well and using hand gel is second nature to most of us, thankfully when the shortage of gel happened I still had plenty that I’d kept from my Home Dialysis Days 3 years ago, still bought more when I could and got lucky when Tesco cleared out a load of 500ml bottles for either £2 or £2.50 so bought a few of them.
My friend and I were talking about you two. How are you guys doing? Are you guys okay?
Where are you? No vid for two yrs? You ok?
How are you now? How is your brother ?
Great video.
Thanks for the info, am still yet to take a first dose, will do that soon.
