    Thanks for the video. I have a 2012 and have been looking for a video on how to remove the tank. I've been learning how to work on my bike myself and this is something that I definitely needed.

      quinones325 You're very welcome. If you need more room to remove the clips/fuel line after lifting the tank a bit you can take off the side cover. It's held in by those push pins and a single hex screw.

    Would be way more helpful if we saw you do the work.

      +Allanb - That might actually end up happening. Hopefully this year i'll have one to mess around with. If they do end up buying one I'd for sure film any mods we install.

      +Out4aRip do you know where can get a swing arm extension for the 2012 ninja 650? even the bolt on one if possible? I am having no luck in finding one

      I took a look online for ya but had no luck. You may need to hunt someone down willing to custom fabricate something for you.

    Hi! This video is so helpful! I am swapping a tank and I can't connect the red clip back on. I don't want to break it. Any advice?

  • @laponiec
    @laponiec 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    How would you put that red C clip back on, I have just spent 1 hour trying to do so, and I didn't manage to put it back into its place.

    • @Cotainmi1022

      You ever figure this out? Currently struggling with it

    • @laponiec
      @laponiec ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Cotainmi1022 Yes, try to take that red clip and form it into it's original shape. Mine was little bent, so I just took it out completely and forced it to it's orginal shape, like the inner pins were not aligned correctly. Once, I done that it just clicked in it's place instantly. I honestly need to make a video about this, sice so many people seem to be struggling with it.
      Let me know if you got it sorted :)

    Great video really helped thanks! Do you think you could do a video on your Power Commander - what you think of it, where its located, whether you notice any real changes etc? Looking at getting one but space is tight and I want to know if it makes a real difference! Cheers

    • @Out4aRip
      @Out4aRip  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      ***** I can absolutely look into creating a vid on the wiring and placement. But in the meantime I will toss a link to power commanders instructional video on a Ninja 650 2012+ model that I used:
      th-cam.com/video/HuTAabVjLEY/w-d-xo.html
      It only really makes a difference if you tune it correctly. If you end up using the stock maps provided by the vendor, it may help a bit but wont eliminate the popping or really help to smooth out the power delivery.
      Placement wise, I have mine routed along the battery to the rear pillion seat where it doesn't take up much room at all.

    Great video it's very clear but only one thing i didn't understand: how can i remove the key cover (the little "ring" around the key place)? it's seem to be "screwed" on te cover of the tank but i don't know how can i unscrew it.. can you explain it please? i'm sorry for my english but it's not perfect because i'm italian. in any case the other part of the video it's clear and now i know what i have to do! :)

    • @Out4aRip
      @Out4aRip  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey, no problem. It doesn't screw out. it just pops out with either a screw driver or your nail. Just be gentle. U lift it out. Held in by a tab. Sorry if that didn't help heh. I'm not sure how else to explain it :( mine came out very easily which why I didn't specifically show it.

    Super helpful video (:. Curious, what kind of handle bars do you have on this?

    • @Out4aRip
      @Out4aRip  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! They were the Ninja 650 sport bars. Unfortunately, the store is no longer up and running. I find the Woodcraft ones look just as good and provide the same change in position.

    I dropped my bike on the left side while cold and parked and leaked some fuel. I rinse it with a water hose and start the bike after a while and the leak was gone. Should I be concern of my bike catching fire?

    • @Out4aRip
      @Out4aRip  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +RicanRevs If it's not still leaking you should be fine. Probably just some over spill(Like you overfilled at the pump) but if you're worried, you could remove the fuel tank inspect all the hoses and connections. If it's about time for a spark plug change, all that stuff needs to come off either way heh. Both of my drops were on the left side and never experienced any issues other than mental anguish.
      At the end of the day though, i feel like I should mention for liability sake... that i'm not a licensed Kawasaki mechanic lol.

    I have a 09 650r that is acting a bit funny. It died on me goin 40mph and wont start/roll start. I'm gonna replace the air filter and the spark plugs. Thoughts on what it could be?

    • @Out4aRip
      @Out4aRip  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Garrett, I'm going to toss you a link. Someone who had similar issues with their 650. Ended up being his knock down sensor failing(8$ on Ebay he mentioned) causing the bike not to start. Although without more information, It'd be difficult to properly diagnose. Check out the link below and keep me posted! Good luck!

      I decided to take it to a shop to let a professional take care of it. I wish I woulda just bought the part and saved time and money. Thats what it was, and the mechanic had a hard time diagnosing the issue. He replaced me front pads for no reason and now I'm grinding my pads on the rotor. never going back to that guy! Bikes been in and out of his shop for a month. But I think it finally runs properly.
