I have a 2016, and it's a great bike right out of the box. I added a Mosko Moto 40 liter tail duffle, a 12 volt accessory plug, and upgraded to Pirelli Angels when I wore the stock tires out. That's it. I see no need to change anything else...
Lol, funny. I'm building up my second 650 as well. It's a bike I won at the insurance auto auction. A 2009 Ninja 650 like you had before, and with a lot of the same components. The other is the 2017 Z650. I love that bike so much and it's been a blast tuning! I do think I'll swap the Ninja 650's exhaust to another Yoshimura though. It sounds so much better than the budget systems. (Looks better too!) Glad you're enjoying the bike. Those Kawi 650's are really underrated. Buttloads of torque and smooth power curve which make them great canyon/mountain runners.
Your bike looks hella sick, Walter! I had to crank the volume to MAX when you hit the horn...I freaking LOVE that!! Can't wait to see the vid of your first ride this year with the new bike!
I'm so pumped. I've been riding an Er-6n for a few years. The naked bike version of the Ninja 650. The day you uploaded your reveal video I noticed your Delkevic exhaust. Ironically I had just ordered the exact same one for my Er6n. I got it installed the same day your video came out. I'm loving your new bike Walter!
I also have Ninja 650 (in our country its selling as ER-6f) from year 2014 and honestly, I love my bike, but daym.. I love your mods even more !! It´s awesome :)
I have huge respect for TH-camrs that don't ask for you to subscribe; big reason for why I subscribed to this awesome channel. Everyone knows how to subscribe and they will if they wish, Walter keeping it classy.
My grandpa has 3 delkevic exhausts one of them is that exact pipe on a 1992 Ninja 500. Sounds just like that V-Twin. I have a 2007 Suzuki Bandit 1250S Bandit right now and soon will be putting that pipe onto the Bandit.
I’m a Kansan (living in CT now) and almost all the bikes I grew up seeing were cruisers. It’s nice to go back home and see some sports bikes out on the highways, it’s like a breath of fresh air. Not hating on cruisers and old school Harley’s, I’ve just seen more than my fair share of them and they’re not really my thing when it comes to bikes.
I had a 2013 Ninja 650 for about a year. It was pretty awesome and I'd suggest that as a beginners bike over a 250. But of course I got seduced the ZX-6R but Ninja 650 was a very good all around street bike. There were times commuting in heavy traffic with the ZX-6R I really missed the Ninja 650. If the ER6N/Z650 was available back then (ER6Ns were really rare in my state) I think I would have still had it since I have always had a thing for naked bikes.
i want a ninja 650 as my first bike and this only makes me want it even more, i dont think ill be modding it as much but ill at least change out the exhaust and get sports bars if it doesnt already come with em, srsly nice bike my dude
Such a nice work you did. ER6 deserved ! now it's time for ohlins springs and scott steering damper :P good luck and welcome back in ER6 family :D :D
I’m not gonna lie I want to steal ur light idea hehe I’m 15 Almost 16 and waiting to get my bike learners idk why but ur videos excite me sooo much and make me look forward to getting a bike 😆
Nice sound and it looks great! I'm wondering if I should start with a sprocket upgrade and save for some new tires. I don't think I can just order a box full of parts and a crew to fix my bike for me. That's why I got the Ninja 650 though. Cool video, thanks for sharing!
@@halcyonaut_ labour to put a full system on? Not exactly a hard job to do in the garage tbh hardest thing is going to be the tank removal for the power commander for remapping honestly.
I like it I like it a lot! However I think those mirrors in that location are going to cause you a Trail of Tears. They're going to bump everything and anything break and tear up your handlebars when they do
I vaguely remember you saying insurance for the r6 was something like 300 a month. I'm still puzzled as to how it is that high unless your driving record is shit. I have 2 bikes insured and mine is 650 a year or like 55 a month with full coverage. Did you try shopping around other insurers?
jay I would assume it's a combination of a lot of different factors that makes his insurance 300 a month. State, neighborhood, age of rider, gender of rider, traffic violation citation history, crash history, insurance claim history and type of bike/engine. In some states it's extremely expensive to insure a 4-cylinder bike regardless of if it's a super sport or an upright naked with full coverage. I'm lucky to live in a state where I can insure my bike for just a few 100 a year, despite it being a 4-cylinder performance bike. It could easily quadruple by simply moving to a different state and city.
Definitely a lot of factors. Generally motorcycle insurance is cheaper than car insurance but I remember when I had a Mustang at 21 years old that my insurance was over $300/mo. Led to me selling the car because it was higher than my car payment. And I had a clean record. Obviously Walter doesn't have the cleanest record lol
Hey Walter! I was wondering what that Business card holder is called? It'd be great to have one so I could use it to put my Military ID in there whenever I present it to the gate guards on military installations without having to dig through my pockets for it! Thanks, awesome video!
Hey there Walter! Love your videos! I was wondering why you went with that exhaust and not Yoshimura exhaust? Was it the price point? Or your liking of the one that you bought?
Hey bro I have a 2012 650 and i am amazed at the sound of that EXHAUST!!! Your Amazon link to the exhaust is coming up as a SORRY NOT FOUND link.....could u please let me know what exactly it is u have on there that makes the bike purr like that?? Thanks man Great channel btw!!!!!!
How awesome to have a crew working on your bike!
Thinkin the same. Brotherhood

hey @Walterrfic roughly how much would it cost to add a full custom Exhaust like that man? it sounds so nice

I mean, how many Busted videos has he posted? He's gotten a bunch of tickets and crashed at least one bike. Also an R6 is pretty damn expensive.
You Americans are lucky. Here in Canada, I am 21 with no tickets or accidents, insurance for an R6 is around $900 a month.
