Alot of people dont like taking advice from others not realizing how important and expensive knowledge is when it is being given to them for free at most times.
I agree, though people often think opening up a restaurant means having a big establishment. One of my uncle's friends loves cooking and loves eating good food. He didn't have the finances to start a whole restaurant so he started with a food truck and two employees. Now back in my home town he has 2 restaurants and I've never seen a person more happy than him. Moral: "doesn't matter if you start small, if you have good food and care about what you do, the customers will come."
I really love your advice… I should starting my Restaurent business soon.. I am executive chef I have more than 10 years experience about the food, restaurant. Mostly I take good inspiration to all good people and all owners . Thank you Wilson you doing great job.
I have to disagree. You should have experience. You work in a field, work up to your own. You can tell ppl who have no experience. This is not great advise in a market of extremely low success rate. You have to put in the experience to know what to do. Im sorry some guy telling you you can make it happen is not going to make it happen or easy. It is an extremely difficult and stressful life. One you have to sacrifice everything for including time with your loved ones. Are your relationships strong enough is a question you should ask yourself? Without the experience your failure rate will be extremely high.
I do agree with everything you said BUT what really gives me anxiety as I'm building my pie shop with O experience in restaurant is more about the day to day operations: how much inventory do I need? How do I calculate how much I need to produce every day? How about waste management? How many employees should I hire? what are the best tools to develop systems that will help me run my restaurant? opening and closing checklists? etc...
My advice before you open a shop you must try it first, if it really sells, you can start at home and post it online if someone orders then you can deliver it to him/her. Do this in 1 month then you decide whether you put up a shop or not with that kind of product

There is general business experience, and there is specific industry experience. After thirty plus years in business, I will be applying my general business knowledge to a new industry - a tea shop Café. Your advice is sound...I will be teaming up with a current or recent graduate of a local culinary school for the industry specific knowledge that is necessary for success. I will add that someone without ANY business experience at all must invest in good people with that experience, or else they will face failure long before they learn enough on their own to succeed.

Hi! May I know whether people that are planning to start their business (haven't officially opened) can join the fb group? Thank you! Learnt a lot from your videos!
Hi am a newbie. Just subscribed so i can follow you. Food concept my customers need, location where my customers hang out, where n who are my customers, business plan, i really need to learn SWOT and to keep learning from mentors experience.
also you would need a cool fun name for the restaurant , I've always wanted to open a restaurant kind of want it to be like a mixture of Denny's and Buffalo Wild Wings combined maybe a couple pool tables as the well but then again not really sure how I would fit all of that into one big place but for the food it's going to be hamburgers , some Italian food, etc also not sure if too much but every Thursday and Saturday would be free karaoke night

I don't know what your concept is but...still important in my opinion. People will still take photos with a mural or something super instagrammable/iconic when they come in to do take out/pick up. And understand that the pandemic WILL be over eventually.
Hey. I’m getting closer to the end of my high school years and I want to learn how to be a chef/owner of my own restaurant and I don’t know what to do after highschool, whether it’s going to university or post secondary. I heard that going to university and such is really important for my future years, but the thing is, I don’t know what to take. Have any ideas?
I'm in the exact same boat. I'm a senior this year and obviously about to graduate with no idea where I'm going afterwards to start that journey. From the research I've done, the only useful classes to take might be business management or something in culinary. Other than that, I don't see myself going to university

How old do I have to be to open a restaurant I’m 13 right now trying to open a restaurant when I’m older or buy a pre owned franchise or franchise hopefully I can do it and my parents have always wanted to have me or my brother to be a doctor, lawyer or dentist
And no I’m not been racist but here in Australia there’s only two types of restaurants ONLY LEBANESE CUISINE & ASIAN CUISINE CANT HAVE SOUP EVERYDAY 🤢🤮
Great question Eric! There are many different ways to see what is either trending or is in demand in your city. I usually use a combination. Like looking on Instagram, looking at what is getting the most traffic/shares from local publications, asking friends and people in different demographics.

I have no idea where to start, but I want to start a Sheich-Kabab food stand. I dont know the cost to start it, or how to move this stand around? Or the whole logistics that go along with it.
I want to buy a small cafe, but since I have a full time job I won’t be able to go to the cafe everyday. Can I be a absent owner, and still have the cafe be successful.
No you don't need a degree. It may help to have something like a business degree but isn't a must have. Having actual experience working in the food industry is more beneficial in my opinion.

Seems like advice for investors and not for people who want to cook and serve food.
When you point up the vidoes don't show, can you please fix that?
also you would need a cool fun name for the restaurant , I've always wanted to open a restaurant kind of want it to be like a mixture of Denny's and Buffalo Wild Wings combined maybe a couple pool tables as the well but then again not really sure how I would fit all of that into one big place but for the food it's going to be hamburgers , some Italian food, etc also not sure if too much but every Thursday and Saturday would be free karaoke night
I am thinking about a new type of restaurants: eating-spots
in eating-spots, food keeps changing, chefs also rotate
this is opposed to current restaurants,
thanks to this rotation of food and chefs, eating-spots are more powerful than restaurants,
along with that, there is an app,
people vote for the food that will be cooked in the next days
menu is influenced by the live input of the people via an app
Thanks Wilson 🌎
great video
Bravo Wilson !
Appreciate you tuning in Eric!
im learning this just incase
thanks Mr Lee😎
Hey wilson I was wondering which is the best cash register to use for an ice cream business?
square is simple and easy to use.
Clover
How important is the interior design for ur shop for social marketing when it is pandemic; when only few people come to ur shop

Probably 21, you can be super successful being a restaurant owner as well, all parents want that for their children 😂❤
Thanks. YAH Bliss. 😊

@wilson : At 2.05, You're talking about finding trends or popular products in your city. Do you have a particular methodology? Thanks.
Great question Eric! There are many different ways to see what is either trending or is in demand in your city. I usually use a combination. Like looking on Instagram, looking at what is getting the most traffic/shares from local publications, asking friends and people in different demographics.
@@WilsonKLee@Wilson. Concerning this particular subject, and which actually concerns DATA, would you have already put a video online? If not, could you show us step-by-step how you proceed and with which tools? Google Maps, Trends, Facebook, Insta. ? Or what you use...
Hi i want to start my own restaurant I'm in Botswana
Thank you!😃
You're welcome Humberto 😊
Great poin
Thank you so much
Good work
Thank you so much Manaka 😀! Let me know if you have any video topics you'd like me to cover!
Of course!! Not all owners are at the restaurant they just have a strong team and manager in place.
Have you started one already
what r the legal papers do i need in starting a small restaurant?
I recommend checking with your local government since every country + city is different. Some may require more than health + business license.
Ur so helpful
Thanks for tuning in!
Do We have to go to college and get degree to own your own restaurant
No you don't need a degree. It may help to have something like a business degree but isn't a must have. Having actual experience working in the food industry is more beneficial in my opinion.
But why would you open a restaurant with zero experience?
In order to gain experience
umm zero experience as an owner, not so much in the f&b world.
and that too
