  • "When they cut off our electricity, my only option was to do what Nirupa Roy used to do in every 80s movie ever..." Dr. Navneet Gill walks us through her journey from being a dentist to a successful restaurant chain owner. Her restaurant venture Nini's Kitchen caters to nearly 35,000 people every month throughout their 5 restaurant and 8 bakery outlets in Gujarat, India. She mentions seven major points to take into consideration, not only to run a restaurant, but also in life to get out of the false trap of overnight success. Dr. Navneet Gill is a dentist by the day and a restaurateur by the night. From not knowing anything about the hospitality industry, to being the proud owner of 5 restaurants and 8 bakery outlets, her journey is the stuff movies are made of.
Nini’s kitchen, her brainchild, is one of the most popular food chains in Gujarat. Her talk on “How to run a restaurant, without knowing anything about running a restaurant”, is aimed to give you an insight into what it takes to make your place in a super competitive, ever changing market. When not working, she can be seen watching Peppa pig and cocomelon on loop, with her two year old. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

I was almost given up but the thought of trying once more time before I close it down and came to watch some youtube lessons on how to do inventory. This video pops up ...wow!!! I am so inspired to do it again, although my takeaway wasn't been through this bad.
You guys are rock stars. I wish you all the best. ❤❤❤

Earlier I was asking myself why I couldn't seem to wrap my head around the struggles of opening up a restaurant. Everyone around me was saying that it'll be difficult but I couldnt really fathom how difficult is difficult. But this is such an eye opener. Thank you, I needed to hear this today.

You have the name of a Sikh from Punjab state, but your English accent sounds like you grew up in a Hindi speaking or south Indian region. You know that funny Indian accent. They way she prounces 40 like Fawty. Punjabis do not sound funny or girly when speaking English. We are tough and hardcore.😂😂

Did you miss the part about the Army background? Which means growing up every where from Kochi, Kerala to Meerut U.P, to Jalandhar, Punjab to Secunderabad, Andhra Pradesh to Ahmedabad, Gujarat? I’d rather be a proud Indian than just being restricted to a Punjabi, which by the way I am also proud of❤
