I loved the last video - such good mobility work! I do a lot of stuff so that I don't suffer from sitting hunched over all day. I am also an easy-gainer. But I found that correcting my bodyfat by controlling my total mass via starvation diet wasn't doing it. I just got sicker and looked not so good even as I got lean again and again. What determines what our mass is made up of ? How much of it is fat and how much of it is lean tissue ? The answer is whole body hormone signalling linked to the whole endocrine system. If you eat for total system health - your body will be more likely to store mass as lean tissue instead of fat. Now your training and your daily steps are doing the most of your hormone signalling there already. That's really good. But additionally you want to stay away from pro inflammatory foods and eat your anti oxidants, anti inflammatories and anti histamines and non processed fiber sources loaded with special nutrients. So stay away from oil - eat WHOLE nuts or seeds. Nuts have been shown to actually help body shed fat : scientists know this because they measured the fat in your poop after eating nuts. OIL directly causes inflammation and messes with the endocrine system resulting in fat deposits vs muscle deposits. Ditch the protein powders - if you use any, and ditch the rice - if you eat any. Replace both with mung beans and lentils - you will get your carbs, the extra proteins, your blood pressure will go down (which means you can afford to be BIGGER for the show and use MORE PEDs so you can win). Apples and onions have anti histamine. No other foods contain it. You need it daily. Lack of these foods lead to generative disease - even in otherwise super healthy people. Lack of onions also leads to balding. Iodine supplementation is a must. At your size - at least 3 drops a day of common iodine solution you buy online. This affects hormone activity. People who don't get enough iodine die of heart attacks way way sooner even if they are otherwise leading a healthy lifestyle. Don't eat too much salt - but don't cut it out either. Hemp Hearts contain enough magnesium and other stuff so that you can stop taking most vitamin/mineral pills. Citrus fruit should be a daily thing - it helps repair tissue (things like leaky gut but also muscle tears). I want to see at least ONE pro in strongman eat for strength and gains instead of self sabotaging. Right now y'all eat according to assumptions from 1950's. I am serious.
I have always done all the Hammer Strength Back-Rows (low - mid - high) one arm at a time - The Mid (as shown) and the High apparatuses really give you a great stretch esp. using slower concentric/eccentric reps. You always see 90% of everyone using the Mid-Row 2 arms at a time (you just do not get the same stretch or power compared to one-arm reps) Plus I can always go about 15% heavier using uni-reps. The only time I really ever use 2-arm Back/Pull exercises are when I use the padded T-Row (the last 2 gyms I joined I had to buy one for the place because they didn't have one). Interesting little tweak you do on Smith Machine Shoulder Presses. I tried that today in the gym and I liked it (it does seem to lessen any joint pain esp. with the narrower grip). I noticed you were going back and forth between the SM presses and the HS Mid-Row - I assume those were the super-sets you mentioned? I never tried that combo. Good to hear you talk about dropping lbs. amigo - it does show (as compared to your version at the SMOE contest) Living off of less than 4000 calories a day at your size (while not feeling hungry or famished is a testament to your conditioning) impressive. Those super-sets are certainly a form of cardio - From all my years of dieting up and down to gain muscle I always incorporate multiple super-sets in to all my work (except for legs - which I just stick to drop sets) when I am dieting down or just simply trying to drop a few lbs. Anything to lessen my time doing cardio lol. Another great clip brother Lucas - you are definitely teaching this old dog some new tricks. I just wish I lived near you, I would most definitely join your gym. Looking forward to the next one. Keep'em coming.
Don't even think it's low key. In terms of overall pressing ability across all disciplines, I think he's the strongest presser. Not just a log, axle specialist ect.
There were 3-4 guys at the bottom(especially the bottom 2), who did nothing. They showed up, took the prize money for their placement and that's it. It was sad to see, that they got invited and their performance was so dogsh*t and athletes like Lucas were not even invited.
@@Couldhavebeensomeone Hoath was terrible. If you are injured just pull out, I don't think it was worth it for Pavlo if he was injured. He risked to worsen or re-injure himself, he definitely didn't make new fans or sponsors with that performance. Unless he injured himself right before the comp. just don't go, they'll invite an alternative.
Please put some merch out! People want to show their support for you man
Im convinced you would have podiumed at Rogue. Trey and yourself were sorely missed
LOVED SEEING YOU DESTORY CIRCUS DUMBBELLS AT SMOE!!!!!
Looking good, Lucas! I’m excited to see how you turn it up next season.
Great insight with how you manage and treat pain 💪

Hell yeah!
Dude, you have less than 3,500 subscribers. HOW?! You came in third at SMOE. You low-key may be the strongest presser in the world! It's outrageous!
@@jordanmessner999 help spread the channel! I’ve only really been on TH-cam for the last year. I didn’t do my first pro show until July 2023.
@@HattonStrength I do! I'm not faulting you, to be clear. I'm saying that it's criminal that more people don't follow you.

Have you got a stage middle name yet?! You’ll need one for Giants!

That would be cool if you could do a collab with Brian at his mountain gym.
What are you doing for steps, treadmill or walking a track or ...?

Will you be using a split-jerk technique in the future? I think I heard something like that but I might be mistaken
@@TheSLK66 it just depends on the weight and the event. I think of the push press and split jerk as tools in the tool box. There is a time for each

I see you doing lifts that other strongman don't do or at least don't put in videos.
