    Quite honestly, my favorite line from the first movie is right after Goblin says he had been like a father to Peter. Spider-Man responds:
    "I had a father. His name was Ben Parker."
    That's genuinely a beautiful line.

    • @Devo57
      @Devo57 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I’ve always found it a bit odd, like Peter says it as though Norman shot Uncle Ben, great line but it seems like something Peter would have said to Flint in SM3 instead

      @loneronin6813 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@Devo57 I never thought of it that way before, but I see your point. I always took it to mean that Peter was saying that it wasn't Norman who was his real father figure, it was his Uncle Ben who really did treat Peter like his actual son. Again, not Norman.

    1:06:49 the reason why Peter never tells Harry the truth is because in the first film Norman’s dying words to Peter were “Don’t tell Harry” meaning don’t tell Harry about the Goblin incident (I think anyway)

    Say what you want about the 3rd movie, but I still enjoy Spider-Man 3 as much as the first two movies. Granted, they threw in too many storylines and conflicts for a 2.5 hour movie, but it still has a lot of redeeming aspects (the action sequences, Sandman's character, Peter being so consumed by the suit that he beats up his friend and hits Mary Jane, New Goblin and Spider-Man teaming up, the themes involving internal darkness, revenge, and forgiveness) that I can overlook its missteps.

      themes do not translate to good storytelling the film still has a very inconsistent tone venom was Handeld absolutely poorly the retconning of who uncle Ben's killer was was stupid and kind of takes away from Peter's lesson about responsibility since it pretty means that uncle Ben's death wasn't actually his fault because the burgeler he let get away for the sake of getting petty revenge didn't actually kill him and instead it was one of spider-mans shittiest villains the harry amnesia subplot was stupid the love triangle was so forced and made the film as the suspect said fill like a sope apra the twist scene with harry and mj was stupid

    1:06:42 because norman made a dying wish telling peter to not tell harry, sorta like gwen's father did to peter. As far as I know, harry didn't know norman was the goblin until the end of spiderman 2, so I guess this is a more relevant question for the 3rd movie.

    To be honest, I still love the Sam Raimi Spider-Man trilogy to this day. What I like about the movies is that Sam Raimi himself had a lot passion for the iconic Marvel character and did his best to make the movies as enjoyable as possible, while at the same time puting his own spin on Spider-Man's character and his story on the big screen. Not to mention that these movies used a lot of practical effects as well, which makes the movies stand out more, then compared to the future Spider-Man films. My problem with the future live action reboots of the characters are as follows: Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man does a very good job of acting Spider-Man's role, but when it comes to Peter Parker, it doesn't feel believable in the slightest, because the actor is just too good looking to be Peter Parker. Tom Holland's Spider-Man, while being the best casting choice for both Peter Parker and Spider-Man, the problem is how the MCU potrays the iconic character. Instead of Spider-Man being a solo superhero, like he always was, instead he becomes a Iron-Man/Tony Stark fanatic and most of the gadgets and suits he gets are made by Stark, instead of Peter making the suit himself. Some would argue that he is 15 years old, but people forget that Peter is also inteligent and can make his own suit without problem. I mean for fuck's sake in Civil War Tom Holland's Peter Parker even said to Tony that he made the web shooters by himself, so I don't see how he can't make his own suit becsuse of his extremly high IQ.

    • @innoclarke7435
      @innoclarke7435 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You're incorrect, Garfield's Peter isn't bad, he's just not what people expect Peter to be like traditionally. Yeah, he's not a nerd or whatever, but they sorta updated him not to make him into a dweeb, but just a social outcast. He's a bitter guy with a chip on his shoulder and who keeps to himself. It's not that everyone hates and bullies him. It's that he's the sort of person nobody would pay attention to. And yes, handsome guys can have that problem too. He becomes unappealing socially because he lets himself be eaten up at how his parents just abandoned him. He's good looking and, uh, rides a skateboard, I guess, but he's not a cool guy.
      The important bit is that Peter's good heart being clouded by a lack of understanding of his responsibilities and their importance, and his bitter and selfish desires are completely in keeping with Peter Parker. His struggling with wanting the girl, but also wanting to do the right thing is present and accounted for. His guilt over being partially responsible for the death of the only real father figure he had is also there. His learning what it means to sacrifice your dreams for the sake of something greater than yourself is something he has to learn over the span of both films. Andrew *is* a very good Peter Parker. It's just not the standard idea of what Peter is. It's a more modern, grounded reinvention.

    God, Spider-Man 3 is 10 years old today. Despite it's flaws, I'll never forget my first time watching this a decade ago. it's such a memorable experience. I adored it when I was younger, me and my Dad loved it after our first viewing. I hated it for a good 3-4 years, and after re-watching it on it's tenth anniversary, I think it's okay. Not the best, but far from the worst. It had a heart warming end to a series of films that defined an entire genre, what more honestly could be said.

    The 12A certification wasn't implemented apparently until 2002 The Bourne Identity- but they at the cinema - ODEON BRIGHTON- must have been privvy to a/the change. I will never forget that moment of my life. I got into a 12. I saw The Spider-Man on the big screen, and somehow benefitted from an as yet unannounced new certificate implementation. And sure enough I took advantage of that new power and saw it again. With no hitch.

    I also like Spider-Man 3. Shoot me. Quite frankly, there is a single scene that not only covers my feelings towards the concept of revenge and its pursuit, but also strikes me as the best scene in the whole movie from the woman that plays Aunt May, who is one of the best actors in the whole movie series. She describes revenge as a poison. I'm personally convinced at this point that Aunt May knows that Peter is Spider-Man, but I like that it's never said out loud.
    On top of that, I like how Peter and Harry reconcile at the end and work together to overcome an enemy that neither one of them could handle alone. I also really do like Sandman in this movie and I think it's his otherwise stone-faced expression that lends itself surprisingly well to him emotionally breaking down to show his remorse. He and Peter have some great moments, especially when Peter forgives Sandman's accidental killing of Uncle Ben.

    Seriously, one of the best parts of all of these movies is Jay Jonah Jameson. They got the perfect actor to play him!
    Also, I always found his son's name kind of hilarious. Jay Jonah Jameson Jr. :P
    Well, at least it's easy to remember...even though he's barely in the movie at all.

    This is pretty awesome, can now watch all three episodes in one video for his _Spider-Man_, _The Lord of the Rings_ and _Home Alone_ reviews. That means I can officially sit back and watch these 2+hour videos without having to move off the couch to change the video channel. Thanks, TUS. ;D
    And in consideration of choice of movies for future reviews, I'd recommend the _Back to the Future_ trilogy because.. well because I love those movie to death. ;P Maybe even _Scream_ because, again, I love them.

    In Spider-Man 3 in Harry's apartment when they get done tossing around the ball on the wall it says "Anal Street," I am disappointed that I couldn't find anywhere where you would mention it. In the movie the time stamp should be 41:13.

    To be honest, I love these movies. The only two things I have it in my heart to dislike about these films are: 1) The romantic elements/dialogue, and 2) emo Peter. Otherwise, I love these films. The tone is just right for a Spider Man series, which I honestly thought was a weaker part of The Amazing Spider Man film.
